I bought the Kobalt 24VMAX version for cleaning up tiny stuff, but ended up using it on a 13" tree the wind decided to take down. You need to pace yourself, but it got the job done. It worked well enough that I'm certain if I need a larger one I'll go battery then too. I got half the work done before my brother got his finiky gas saw running.

Cutting huge pieces off a tree while tied to it can cause a massive shift in balance, that can slingshot you off the tree, or even snap the tree off lower. Professionals do it bit by bit so they can ease the tree’s movements, and assess if it is safe to continue. Most of them would also be screaming that this person one day will cut that close to their anchor line for the final time. If they are lucky, they will survive the mistake.
