Nice video, I tried both pedals today and IMO, with a good equalization, and being careful with the pods you gonna get a good 80s heavy metal distortion in metal zone, in the other side with the nux metal core you have more gain and more modern sounds
Some of these, the NuX sounds way better, but on others, the Metalzone is way better, so it's a fairly hit & miss, trading blows type comparson. I say grab the NuX and a Behringer UM300, which is an MT-2 clone with true bypass for $20-$25, and dial the gain way back on both, or pair one of these with a multifx pedal from Zoom or NuX (the G1XOn from Zoom or the NuX GT-100/GT-20 come to mind), or one of the HoTone floor units previously covered by this channel, or a Joyo BanTamp/Peavey 6505 Piranha/Orange Micro Terror type situation, and expand the tonal versatility way beyond what it would be otherwise. I have the Zoom G1XOn, and a UM300, and I'm happy with that setup paired with my home brew hybrid/valvestate amp through a 4x12.
that one riff at the end sounded like mama kin by aerosmith odly enough i actually liked the nux it didnt sound as robotic as the boss metal zone you shoulda added more bass you had the mids all set up wrong them metal zone can sound much better and thicker than that with the mids up and a little m ore bass or lows on it . thats how i set mine
the comparison would be more informative if you had done it with a clean channel instead of a strongly distorted one even with the pedals switched off.
the boss metal zone literally is a pre amp pedal so if you don't plug it in through your effects loop, it sounds super fuzzy and broken.... Maybe try a new review of this pedal plugged into a noise gate and your effects loop and you'll be blown away lol.
Maaaaan... WHEN will "reviewers" realize that in order to give an ACCURATE, HONEST representation of what that pedal ACTUALLY DOES, you HAVE to run it into a CRYSTAL CLEAN amp with the EQ FLAT??? If you run it into an amp that's ALREADY BREAKING UP on it's OWN, viewers have NO IDEA how much of the sound is the PEDAL, and how much is YOUR AMP! I'd give anything if these "reviewers" cared half as much about giving people an ACCURATE, HONEST representation of what the gear ACTUALLY DOES as they care about sounding "good" and lookin cool... If the amp's breaking up, right off the bat, the video as a DEMO is completely POINTLESS...
Hello lady Please used translator in my, in spanish. Continuas con pedales Nux? O has cambiado tu preferencia en pedales? El tema de los pedales es genial Es como el sello personal de cada guitarrista. Me gustaria platicar sobre ello y tema musical en si. Por si tienes un medio en el cual podamos charlar libremente, lo apreciaria.
Not a timely comment but this bid makes me feel a lot better about my NUX MC Delux. I bought it before i really knew what i wanted.
LOL. As long as it helped 😉
Using D.I. or pedal loop ? I always use overdrive pedal direct in.
Pedal direct always when it comes to overdrive and distortion
My opinion is NUX more better because i've used it a few years
“More better” ??? Lol
I have both and mostly used was metalzone.
Why?
@@JoannSebastiann it sounds better . It has 6 knobs compared to the 4. Better eq.
Significantly more hum from the NUX.

Thanks for the feedback
Nux metal core has a more gain actualy
Spend $25 on Behringer Tube amp modeler.
We’ll have those soon in stock so I’ll be sure to try that out
@@ThePedalGuy little noisy . but overall pretty decent. The mic setting that simulates mic location is nice.
I actually like the nux better
Me too 😉
Real battle: Boss ML-2 vs Nux metal core
Good idea!

The manual says to use it in front.
@@ErrorlVlacro So what lol? If the manual said to put sugar in your gas tank would you?
