    Hi there! Necromansters is not a CCG, it is a customizable card game. This is a board game with expansions, plain and simple. Any collectible elements are entirely cosmetic and will have no impact on gameplay. Appreciate the mention! Kinda weird to see this in the wild. Hope this helps clear stuff up!

    Oh! You hate TCG's too? No way! So do I. That's literally why I invented the Customizable Card Game Business Model that I implemented for Necromansters. The Customizable card game is the fusion of the TCG and the LCG. Every time you buy a box, you're 100% guaranteed to get all of the cards in that expansion. What shakes things up is that you'll also get a selection of variant cards be it borderless, foil, or more. People complain that LCG's have no collect-ability. Solved. People complain about the cost of TCGs. Solved. Thank you for showing off my friends game, and let me know if you want more details.

    8:21 Again, see my other comment. A lot of people interested in this game will also be interested in Root - and to teach Root you have to teach not only HOW all the factions play, but also HOW EACH of the factions WIN, unlike Tsukuyumi, which you don't need to teach different win conditions - because at least EVERY faction is trying to do the SAME THING to win in the end.

  • @Ray-chan
    @Ray-chan 6 дней назад

    Hi Chris! In regards to the roguelike aspect of Unstoppable i just wanted to say that that is precisely the difference between a roguelike and a roguelite. These terms are NOT interchangeable! A roguelike is a game where all progress is reset every time. In a roguelite (as in the lite version of a roguelike) some progress carries over to make things easier.
    So them calling their game a roguelike when it has no carry over is correct. Of course it is still important to point that fact out so that people can make an informed decision, especially since many people don't know the difference between the two, but the absence of that mechanic isn't a flaw in and of itself. Roguelikes have their place, too. ^^

    Carom golf is not dexterity/flicking, it’s roll to move. The game is about trying to plan out how the ball will bounce when it hits walls and obstacles. You can also hit somebody else’s ball under one of the game types so you could knock them out of a good shot

  • @JJ_TheGreat
    @JJ_TheGreat 8 дней назад +2

    7:07 However, unlike Root, in which EACH faction has a different win condition - so you will have to teach every faction in the game - not only how to play with them - but also how that particular faction wins; at least with Tsukuyumi, every faction wins the game the same way - but it is just that each faction has different variable powers, so plays differently.
    I am just saying - to make an argument for not being as "heavy" as you are making it seem here.

    I think Unstoppable looks very interesting but with the high shipping costs and VAT/taxes added on later, I think this is very stoppable and I'll just wait for retail. They have said in the comments section that the Stretch Goals are 'Renegade Exclusive' meaning that they will be sold on their website once the game is released. It doesn't actually say this on the main page leading a lot of folks to believe that the stretch goals would just be included in the base game or come out as some type of retail expansion. It took someone to actually ask in the comments to get an answer.

    These grandiose map games (exemplified by Imperial Borders and Europa Universalis) have passed the point where the charm of being a tabletop game, is outweighed by the unwieldiness of the game systems they want to implement.
    Embrace that these war game systems are better enjoyed as computer games. Most of the most popular ones have their roots in board games, and fairly approachable even for someone less used to video games.

    List of mistakes and misinformation you are spreading on you poor covering of the game Nightshift:
    1- Nightshift is NOT essentially a roll and move. It's NOT EVEN a roll and move game at all. You spend energy to move (or to engage with customers).
    2 - The mini game that you said it's "literally just drawing cards face up" is a very well known and used mechanism in board games called "push your luck", in case you didn't know.
    3- You say there's little control or mitigation on the game, but then in your next phrase you literally say you can use power cards to mitigate which is correct. But IN ADDITION to that, you can also use two kinds of resources to mitigate rolls and/or card flips: shots / champagne (one adds +1 to rolls, the other lets you reroll). As you can see "you don't seem to have much control and mitigation" is just factually wrong and misinformation once again.
    4 - You say you can buy power cards. You can't. Only shots and champagne tokens can be bought, although you need to go to the bar in order to buy them (spending energy to get there), so you need to manage your resources and choose what you want to do.
    5 - Deluxe pledge does NOT contain a gameplay card. The card is meant to represent the Solo Player dancer and it's NOT necessary to play the solo mode, so it's just a "deluxe" addition. This means that whoever wants to get everything, gameplay wise, only needs the base game. The fact that a lot of people still go for the deluxe option is just because they like the deluxification. But they are not forced to buy the expensive stuff for gameplay reasons, unlike a lot of other publishers do with their projects.
    Things you did NOT cover or mention:
    1 - Each dancer has unique powers (player variable powers is also a well know mechanism in board games), and you did mention "asymmetric dancers", but you left out that some of them have their power related to luck mitigation. Since this was one of your critiques, I think you should have mentioned it.
    2 - You have to strategically chose when to engage with customers, because you can get roster on stage next turn, and lose the committed clients (or have to pay a fine to the club to miss the stage). It's called timing, and it's a part of lots of board games as well.
    3 - When you get to the stage yourself, you get tips for unflipped customers with tips on the table. Not all customers are stage tippers, so you need to strategically avoid flipping them if you are about to go to stage, or to actively flip them if opponents are about to go on stage
    5 - Clients have different loyalty traits that can match different dancers. That means you might want to risk and keep looking for those, but you might be wasting energy if you do so.
    6 - There are moments in the game where an event card is flipped, which changes the gameplay a little bit, meaning each game will play slightly different. Cool for replayability right? ;)
    7 - Designer is also the artist and a former dancer, which is trying to create a game with a theme that is more often than not misunderstood and misrepresented. Cool right? Elizabeth Hargrave thought so too.
    Would be nice if you didn't spread too much misinformation :)
    Honest mistakes, when you don't spend a lot (or any) energy (I guess rolls for you) doing research on what you are covering I guess.
    TLDR: No, it's NOT "all you need to know" cause you didn't say much, and what you said was either wrong or incomplete...
    Cheers!

    • @BoardGameQC
      @BoardGameQC 6 дней назад +1

      As if being a vet meant you don't make mistakes and get things wrong... I've seen Tom Vassel redoing a whole review because he misinterpreted a rule (Darwin's Journey). Is there a vet more vet than him? Also, plenty of other reviewers are loving the game. It's sad that these vets can't even see the game for what it is... And are always looking for complex strategy games. Sometimes, being on edge for dice rolls is what a game needs to be fun... Critical misses and hits are a thing on rpgs, you know? And ppl love rpgs. They are just dice rolls with mitigation, for the most part... Anyway, thanks for your comment. Was super insightful
