  • You might know ImperialHal for his incredible highlights or because he can get a little spicy in comms.
Maybe he’s not for everyone - but if you follow Apex Legends esports, it’s fair to say that he’s so good, he’s impossible to ignore.
He jumped from H1Z1, to Fortnite and then to Apex Legends, and he became the superstar in a game that was fighting for recognition.
But Hal didn’t just stand out: he exploded.

I think he is a great leader, but leads in a way that works for him. You can watch some replays when they have comms on after someone goes down, and he has blamed himself for mistakes. When someone makes mistakes in a match, he corrects them and says this is what we should have done differently. Yes, he does rage at his teammates, but at the end of the day, they are all still friends and teammates.

No he is still toxic. This is a trait among a lot of great sports coaches or leaders. They are good and can lead their team to victory but are extremely domineering and eventually push other players away. Go look up Jim Harbaugh, current head coach of the Michigan football team and former head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. He was a great coach for the 49ers, leading them to incredible success in 3 straight years after 10 years of ineptitude- 1 Super Bowl appearance and 2 near Super Bowl appearances and he got pushed out because of his domineering personality tiring out and pushing out some of his players and causing massive friction with people within the 49ers organization. His type of leadership definitely produces results, but it definitely has a big drawback and could make other players get tired of him and not want to go to TSM.
