It's toxic but not to his teammates cause they aren't soft bitches. Like sometimes he will literally tell them "why are you guys so bad"...that's pretty toxic lmao
Gordon Ramsay is actually pretty mellow and level headed for the most part. Its the editing of the shows that make him seem bombastic and loud. Watch the British versions of his shows if you don’t believe me. He comes off as a completely different person. I think its fair to say that many videos compile Hals worst moments and add to an illusion that he is worse than he really is. But you cant deny there have been several instances of him flying off the handle, insulting his teammates when he himself actually made a bad call or play. Definitely not a good quality in a team based game. That said, i guess the comparison sort of works on some level, but there are important distinctions to be made.
@@protoman1214 bro i am british he is mellow just not at work my point stands just because you see him making tiktoks with his daughter doesnt mean hes a serious guy at work vice versa

Also, mellow doesn’t mean you don’t take work serious. You really watch the British shows and really take away that he is some sort of hardass all the time in the kitchen. How about all the jokes cracked, laughs had, moments of genuine empathy he shows….
I was one of those people who thought Hal was toxic, and I'm glad I gave him a second chance. My reasoning was because if he truly was as toxic as people said, no one, not even his TSM teammates would even play with him. Yet people invite him and people accepts his invitation when they ask to play games. And it's true that he doesn't really shout at his teammates in content creator games or Pubs.
Exactly my thought. No team would let a member act like that and represent them if it wasn’t in good spirit. It’s competitive and they want to be consistent, and nobody would join a team or match with someone who pisses em off like that. Those people need to watch a stream. The laughs are way more consistent then anger
True, when he's wanting to play ranked and searching for teammates there are always the other streamers who want to play with him but can't cuz he already join the person who invite him first.
I don't think he's as toxic as people say, it's somewhat common in pro sports, especially among the shot callers/captains, who are very passionate. Having said that though, a TSM contract is a big pay day and exposure for yourself, in a category/sport where money isn't flowing for every player, and easily a big enough of reason to deal with any "toxicity" from a teammate.
same with me. i hated him at first, but that was me judging off of clickbait couple second clips. he's actually super chill in pubs and nice to his fans tho.
If the only thing you know about Hal is his "Toxicity", you don't know him that much. The man's passionate as hell and you'd know that once you watch him more.
Just goes to show those people have never participated in anything competitive; whether it be sports or trying your best to achieve better grades, which often comes with being hard on yourself and others to be better. And when it’s something like competing for 250k in one tournament, who WOULDN’T be as passionate and vocal in trying to win that. End of the day, these guys are paid as pros, they wouldn’t be here playing together if they were sensitive to words like “shut the fuck up and listen” lol
lmao that bullshit again, do you think all of this preds and pros aren't a passionate as Hal? these dudes litreally spent more 2k hrs in the game ffs. If you can invest so much time in one game you are hella passionate for that game.
Why can't people admit both things can be true. He is both passionate AND toxic. Plenty of passionate people who don't act the way he does. This is a pea brain take.
@@protoman1214 if his teammates agreed with that take, Reps would’ve left ages ago and Verhulst wouldn’t have lasted a minute, and they wouldn’t have won as many tournies as they have. It’s not as if they’re competing for a digital animated badge in Ranked 😬

So the signing of Velhurst should show you exactly what he's talking about when it comes to being toxic. He doesn't treat everyone the same but now that vels more in tune and he's been through some mud with them he gets the shits. When I played college football we had a "toxic" ass middle linebacker. He's the leader/captain of the defense if you dont know. He would talk similar to Hal but we had the second best defense in our division. When he graduated we dropped to 5th. That may not seem like a drop but it is trust me, especially when it's only a one season difference. The new ML was more like Sweet and it was nice but there wasn't any accountability. Where I come from we call em “Soft”. Librarians if you will 🤣🤣
The question about Hal being Toxic is like asking Kobe(Not comparing the 2, just pointing out similarities in leadership styles that I see) why he was a dickhead to his teammates. It's to make them better. Hal does go a bit overboard sometimes, but I think that being in his position and playing for such a good org he needs to be occassionaly. I'm glad he used the snipedown reference in explaining it. Pretty much holding his teammates to the same standard as he holds himself or higher which any good leader would do, and the results(ALGS scrims and tournaments) speaks for themselves.
Hey everyone stop for a moment and just give Hal some big respect because he paused and thought for a moment before he said he was a better IGL than Aceu meaning he's humble
He acts like any good leader in a COMBAT SITUATION. Sometimes you have to be aggressive like that to get people to listen, in stressful situations. When your life depends on it, what makes it toxic? "It's just a game"? This is this man's life and livelihood, as he is a PROFESSIONAL.
Hal isn’t toxic or as toxic as people think he is , he said himself that he acts the way he does because sugarcoating what he has to say doesn’t do anything , snip3down and reps have both agreeed on it , it’s better to get out what you have to say right then and there then to blow up way later
he did'nt say it, but if you don't speak loud or dont scream, your teammates wont listen to you immediatly cuz the information you are giving doesnt seem as important, but if you yell something, they will 100% stop tunnel vision and listen to you.. ( its like that in a lot of games, I raidlead in WoW for a couple years and if I just called out something coming by just talking we would have some people dying, but if I scream what to do, nobody ever dies.. and I apply the same tactic when I IGL in apex in my solo queue sessions, it usually works pretty well ! ) you gotta learn how to get listen to and being loud is a really good strat overall !
Thing is, Hal has a great sense for situations. He is always aware of nearly all enemy squads, whereas teammates often get distracted or attracted to one specific squad. Defending your position and knowing when to commit to a certain fight is key to winning in pro lobbies.
It always cracks me up when people say Hal is toxic. If he was truly toxic no one would ever play with him. Streamers would avoid him cause it would hurt the stream. When there's a spot open for tsm apex it fills instantly. And honestly he's more mature than I was when I was his age with 1/10th of the money 😂

without any doubt, imperialhal is one of my favorite competitive apex player.
8:20 I though they removed this?
Thing is, Hal has a great sense for situations. He is always aware of nearly all enemy squads, whereas teammates often get distracted or attracted to one specific squad. Defending your position and knowing when to commit to a certain fight is key to winning in pro lobbies.
It always cracks me up when people say Hal is toxic. If he was truly toxic no one would ever play with him. Streamers would avoid him cause it would hurt the stream. When there's a spot open for tsm apex it fills instantly. And honestly he's more mature than I was when I was his age with 1/10th of the money 😂
Passion!
This guy is nice
