I was hoping we'd see Sunset again. And the flow of animation when she came down the stairs looked amazing. Sixpence 's There she goes was playing through my head at that moment.
The only thing I don't like is that maya keeps switching sides because in the first she mean to Penny and then in the next episode she hanging out with her and her friends. Then in the third episode back to being mean to Penny .🤨
It feels like either the episodes are being released out of chronological order, or it's just a problem-of-the-week style where characters are whatever they need to be for the episode and there isn't really a long running plot or character development. Usually with those there would be a consistent character dynamic tho.
Yeah, cause Lacianga even in the original series would be fake with the group and would not associate herself in some episodes, so I think it just depends on the episodes and how they feeling.
Maya is fake and jealous of Penny because In the first episode she talks badly about them and then in the next episode she is seen hanging with Pennys friends
I hope a future episode of the revival showcases Dijonay’s gossiping and/or manipulation catching up with her and results is some irreparable damage because of it.
Felt a bit weird as a queer person cause this episode isn’t for queer people. It’s for cis-straight people who don’t know queer people exist. It feels like queer people and relationships are just an observed subject… because they were in the episode. However, the target of the discrimination only had to exist for things to work out which is actually quite nice since most people don’t get that. In my opinion, the show hasn’t changed in the way it deals with topics treated like it’s controversial. I wouldn’t really complain about it though cause it’s a kids show. It’s good to be on-the-nose with messages. Some kid out there is glad this episode exists.
If you quit complaining and quit getting offended by just about anything, then maybe you would enjoy it. Every time someone who identifies as “queer,” it’s a clear sign that these are the same type of people who are overly sensitive and cry about something for apparently not being inclusive enough. Cant win with you guys…opps! I said “guys,” is that offensive for assuming your gender?
One thing I think is overlooked of Sunset’s promotion is that this increases the income she generating. Even if she didn’t have a male detective partner, Felix would still be feeling insecure on her making more money alone. While that can and should be a net positive, Sunset’s increase in income does shift financial dynamics within their family. That, in turn, can shift dynamics within relationship or family in other ways. Thus, Felix, who is the main financial provider for his family, has insecurities with Sunset’s success. If left unchecked, that could insecurity could breed other issues and negative emotions. Part of the reasoning I’m highlighting this is I’m sensing that this is a foreshadowing of what is going to happen to Oscar and Trudy, whether Snackland results in Oscar either financially burdening his family or, what I suspecting, generating more income (but it may be not be all positive, especially if he pulls in even some financial weight, given how Trudy being the provider gives her dominance over Oscar in both their marriage and family)
What does Felix do for a living? In the original show, it was implied that lacienga was from a wealthy family - and somehow live in the same neighborhood as the proud family. Since police officers don't make that much money, Felix was likely the breadwinner of that family. Doesn't mean he can't feel insecure or jealous if his wife got a promotion in her career, but it is more likely that Oscar would feel insecure around trudy than Felix feeling insecure around sunset.
@@medtle1 Felix owns and runs a construction company, which can yield very good money. Also, Oscar is not that insecure with Trudy being the breadwinner since he is known for using and relying on others, which not being the best with his own or other’s money. While Oscar, if Snackland generates income, will obviously not be wise with the money earned at first, it could be just as or more interesting if /when Trudy/his family convinces him to help provide more, and that results in issues with how that can/would threaten Trudy if Oscar succeeds.
@@marklisowski6549 I guess that is a good point, though a lot of men are not comfortable with having people know that wives or girlfriends are breadwinner (or make more money than them), even if they are in that kind of relationship. Definitely would be interesting to see how the family would react if proud snacks either becomes successful or failed to the point of bankruptcy. Also, iy was implied I. The original series that Oscar and trudy have marriage problems, so it would interesting to see how the reboot/sequel handles them.
I'll be honest, I like the overall message of this episode but I felt Randall denying Oscar the loan based off a look was ridiculous. Sure it wasn't ideal but he said absolutely nothing offensive when he was in their presence. Obviously I don't agree with his previous stance on the two Dads when he told Penny to stay away from their kids and I'm happy he had a change of heart at the end. Just felt Randall was being a bit much to deny the loan just based off Oscar's eyes cracking. Still, it's not a bad episode.
looking forward to daylight saving this weekend at all? Here in AU, we go back to standard time at the start of April, so by putting it back by 1 hour. I can tell you i'm not looking forward to that at all. Can't wait for October, my favourite month of the year 2 months before Christmas.
I'm curious, would the story play out the same way if the character Maya & her brother had two moms instead of two dads one being a blonde Beverly Hills looking white guy? I don't know it's that I feel like the lesbian community deserves their fair share of hype in this updated Proud Family cartoon.
My view on two fathers in regard in light getting Oscar, especially with Randall, to be more open-minded in general and receptive to Penny. In addition, they are likely having Randall and Barry to also balance out gender dynamics among core families in the series.
Then watch another show if you don’t like it. I think the representation of gay men is more than enough. Plus, lesbians are more socially accepted than gay men are so the normality of gay men definitely needs to be pushed more than lesbianism.
you plan on covering anymore rugrats soon at all? still waiting for an episode review of my favourite episode acorn nuts and diapey butts as well as the Paris movie too lol
This was the worst episode of the show so far, the episode is just waving it's finger most of the time. Also 2:26 where Oscar dresses like that just feels a bit much. Am I allowed to feel uncomfortable from this? The original and show had a similar episode where Micheal is called a "sissy" which handled the heavy stuff better and more subtle.
I was hoping we'd see Sunset again. And the flow of animation when she came down the stairs looked amazing. Sixpence 's There she goes was playing through my head at that moment.
With Barry as her partner, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is perceptive to something that Sunset is clueless about, like catching the Gross Sisters.

personally I wouldn't say this is my favourite episode of the new show so far, but i still really enjoyed it overall. especially the ending. "Trudy!"
Fact’s
I loved this episode but I was kinda upset Dijonay didn't get any bad Karma since she kinda started the whole fuss
I had a feeling they would make an episode of them,💙
Same here as soon as I saw the trailer
Awww even Gina was dancing with them
Dijonay need to get got
I thought for SURE that was the moment where Dijonay would've gotten her ass beat. People irl would've fucked her shit up!

You are natural at this storytelling..thank you for the review
Thank you!! And thanks for watching!
Oh boy, Snack Land is going to be built on top of a toxic landfill? Kinda suits Oscar.
I would love fo Dijonay to get a comeupins episode.

What got overlooked is how the show tried to go above and beyond to emasculate Felix in an attempt to empower Sunset.
@@dominiquerobinson8888 RIGHT!
I lowkey felt sorry for Oscar when he was in the loan office and Randall denied him. The look on his face was heartbreaking.
I felt sorry for him too but oscar has to learn.
"Perhaps because he's tasted proud snacks" 🤣
Like the old show reference from the big feet episode
