Unless the airstrip is long like this one, touch and goes are usually not a good idea for backcountry airstrips...also depends on surrounding terrain. Most of these places make good camp spots. I've camped out there myself. So not sure why they would say to not stick around.
@@core_of_winter I am not sure. Most likely he did not particularly like airplanes landing there. Government guy. We have a nice one nearby on a mountain ridge that looks inviting.
@Herk_Driver Thanks for the Monday morning quarterback. This isn't a 747. And I suppose that applied to you also, on drop night? That's why you had to settle for C-130s and not fighters like the 25 guys ahead of you? 🤣😂
@Herk_Driver Sounds more like a list of ambitions that didn't work out for ya. That's why you had to settle for 130s. And speaking of getting a life, YOU are the one who needs to get a life because you spend your time lighting up RUclips videos in the comment section. But, I suppose that's the life of a herky bird jock. After all, that's what debrief consists of in your world. Just jumping on RUclips since there's not much else to debrief in flying from point A to B, 🤣😂.

Thanks for the ride!
You bet!
Very nice flying!
I recently asked a FS guy about these. He said they usually don’t care about touch and goes…or an emergency of course. But don’t stick around.

Yes, this one is. Most idaho mountain airstrips are USFS.
mmm… drug in approach, dove to the runway. not sure why… strip is plenty long
Because not all strips are long and you always practice for the short ones.
Practicing bad habits will catch up to you
