Justin Rogers Exactly, but not everyone is on the high school marching band. I've played trombone for 2 years, piano and guitar for 1 year each, and tuba for about 6 months, and tuba was easily the hardest.

Props to the tuba, that is hard to play, and you need STRONG lungs. Especially for playing a song that is centered around bass, for 4 minutes straight

There's no air requirment difference for a tuba to any other brass, it just weighs more.
