Watch the Hayabusa and Super Komachi Shinkansens get connected for a combined run

  • Hayabusa Shinkansen runs between Tokyo and Shin Aomori. Super Komachi Shinkansen runs between Tokyo and Shin Akita. During these trips between Tokyo and Morioka, they share the same track. So, most of the time these two Shinkansens are connected together for the runs between Tokyo and Morioka. Trains originating at Tokyo are disconnected at Morioka and Super Komachi goes to Akita, where as Hayabusa goes straight to Aomori. Same is true for trains originating at Akita or Aomori, they get connected at Morioka for their combined run to Tokyo.
    This video is taken at JR Morioka station of Super Komachi and Hayabusa Shinkansens being connected. enjoy!!!

I just watched a video, where those two bullet trains were connected and wanted to see, how the connection happens and if the port on the Hayabusa closed vertically or horizontally. Went on these recently, both between Tokyo and Aomori and Aomori and Kakunodate. The Komachi's actually not very fast on its own but still looks more badass than most other trains, ever. The E5/E6 are just ridiculous. I kept zooming out on my phone map and could still see my position visibly moving. Can't wait for the L0, that is going to be insane.

    • @andreapassante5653
      @andreapassante5653 Год назад +1

      E6 has the potential to be just as fast as E5, but it's limited by the top speed of the track when it's travelling between Morioka and Akita because it's not travelling on shinkansen tracks, but on normal railway tracks that have been adapted to be dual gauge.

      USA will never have a HSR, we don't need it.. we are too spread out, and none of our cities are densely packed enough. the only reason a HSR would even be attempted to be built, would be mainly the US government themselves paying a company to build it, for a "dick rate" contest.
      WHERE the USA shines, is truckers, and personal vehicles...

    • @afcgeo882
      @afcgeo882 6 лет назад

      Shinkansen trains are fairly light and modern and the couplings are heavy duty enough for that use. These aren't freight trains. Also, Shinkansen trains use power at all axles, unlike most trains, which have powered locomotives and unpowered passenger/freight cars. That means no one car is pulling the rest of the cars, requiring less powerful couplers.

      Most people don't ride the shinkansen often, so if they have a chance to watch the connection, then they will. They consider it part of the attraction during their trip, and they enjoy witnessing the technology involved in it, so they make the most of it. Most westerners ignore some of the smaller things such as this because they feel that the destination is more important than the trip.
      IOW, Japanese are consummate learners, and that is partly why the Shinkansen is among, if not the best in the world.

    • @SeverityOne
      @SeverityOne 6 лет назад +3

      U.S.S.Rball • Because the entire train is powered. There are traction motors on most, if not all axles. Then there's a high-tension cable running the length of the train. The Acela Express is a TGV derivative with a locomotive on each end, so it makes sense to put the pantographs there.
