I am not certain of the tuning, but fun fact: this song was recorded on an acoustic guitar, playing into a portable Philips cassette recorder microphone; the distorted sound on the record comes from the microphone just being overdriven
True story! I went to a Stones exhibit in London a few years back and there was tons of awesome stuff to see, including that tape recorder (behind a glass case of course).

You're right Harry, except it was layered with multiple tracks of acoustic guitars.
That overdriven sound through the cassette recorder still hasn't been replicated to this day, even with all our modern effects. I'm guessing Marty chose his Tele for the lesson because it's the closest he could get to the original sound.

It’s my birthday, my lucky day Marty Music made a lesson on an artist I love.
Once listened to a radio interview with Tariq Ali (the "Clash of Fundamentalisms" guy) . He said the song is about him - so there is an actual Street Fighting Man. Check out the photos online. For all you Rock 'n Roll students of political history, according to Wikipedia: "Jagger allegedly wrote it about Tariq Ali after he attended a 1968 anti-war rally at London's US embassy, during which mounted police attempted to control a crowd of 25,000. He also found inspiration in the rising violence among student rioters on Paris' Left Bank, the precursor to a period of civil unrest in May 1968."

Right on Stones! Eagles, Beatles and Zep don't want us to learn their stuff and demonetize and threaten take down of all content including just a few bars of their riffs. But the Stones, in their twilight I fear, are sharing their magic. Isn't music for sharing? And in a time when less famous musicians struggle just to eat, it's disgusting that Don sets such a tone of greed. I pick on Don Henley because he personally goes on and on about how terrible it is that he's not making even more money from every ten year-old future guitar god/goddess plucking out Hot*l Calif*rni@ (Don't even type the name on RUclips!). And the Eagles just ain't all that compared to the Stones anyway. So he's just sealing the fate of not entering the canon of great 20th Century music. Rant done. My point is the Stones are awesome.

The song was originally done on acoustic guitars, but it's impossible to match that sound because of the unique way it was recorded. Prolly why Marty picked the electric here.
I've played this song on a cheap tenor ukulele and it actually sounds good. It's easy to play, only 4 chords. The key is doing the quick strumming at chord changes, and emphasizing the beat.
