How is this an "independent content" review if it’s sponsored by the company making the product? It should be obvious to people that this is sponsored, but I’m pretty sure that many don’t even notice. Please make it more obvious in the future.
I am a faithful Xreal user, since the previous company called Nreal. The review is valid and relevant. It's not like a marketing gimmick or ads. I use Xreal Air 2 for writing essays, using my mac, with the ability to multiple display, usually I use two displays, the first one for writing, and the other for reference, scientific journals. I even give a chrismast present to my nephew who's studying now for bachelor degree. And yes, it's good for entertainment as well, I bring in for travelling, I won't need any TV provided by the hotels. And of course, in airplanes and train in long journeys, I travel once a month by plane, and this glasses serves the purpose of entertainment. For me, it's better than Meta Quest.
When talking about perceived screen size, it's critical to provide how for away the screen is. For example, "120 inches at 10 feet away" (for TV references) or "32:9 ratio screen of 45 inches sitting 24 inches away" (for monitors).

I have RoKid and love them. Can be used with anything and you don't need but the glasses and the USB c cable or a HDMI to USB C cable. They're amazing.
As an XREAL Air user, this is only really good for travelling. It's fantastic on airplanes and buses (i use it with my steam deck) and battery life is pretty decent when using this (1.5-2hrs on heavy games, 3hrs+ on emulator games). I once played the whole Pokemon Black in one seating on my flight so the comfort and usability speaks for itself here. Also really good in hotels with my macbook to watch tv shows. But other than these scenarios, it's not great. The 1080p display spread across 100+ virtual inches is horrendous PPI. If you used it as a monitor replacement, you will walk away with headaches if you have to work with text. I like that this version integrates the control into the glasses itself saving bulk but it's still extremely niche and can't replace anything. I would still only use this if i am travelling.
I use mine every night in bed when I want to watch RUclips/shows/movies or game and want a huge private screen instead of a tablet or mobile screen. It is amazing tech imho. But to each their own I guess.

Going out on a design snob limb here, but I can’t understand why WHY they didn’t make them LOOK like ONE lens, instead of this wonky “small glasses behind big glasses” look. If they solved the design, widening the small prism glasses to match the size of the outwards facing glasses, and packing them into something that looks like one unit, they’d get a 10/10 in design and probably reel me in. Now it still looks like an unfinished and experimental product in development to me.
Yeah, I really hate that too. I’m assuming it gives the illusion of “thin” with the current design rather than looking bulky if the lenses were all the same size and closing off the space. They’re trying to appear more “ahead” of the game when they don’t need to. They’re already doing something different than others. Just own it.

It's unbelievable how ignorant people in the comment section are about VR/AR optics. Resolution DOES NOT MATTER when it comes to these displays, they aren't monitors. Pixels per degree matters (PPD) is what matters. The XReal One has a 50deg horizontal FOV and a PPD of 40. The Apple Vision Pro has a PPD of 35. You cannot discern pixels on the XReal Ones. They're incredibly sharp. Those of you whining about how it's not 4K simply don't understand how this works. 4K screens would provide nearly no benefit but would kill the battery of your device much faster.
Yeah it's the FOV what actually kills these, you can make whatever big virtual screens, but you can never see more than a tiny chunk of them at a time.
For vr headset, the screen door appears, that's cause of the lenses zooming into the pixel like a microscope. These glass need more pixels and wider fov for them to be more useful as mix reality.
@@oneanother1 these are not magnified in any way, so you see the micro oled as tiny as they are, no screen door effect whatsoever, I assure you. The problem is the FOV is like 40° so you end up seeing something akin to a 12" tablet at the distance you would use one (so like ~1ft away from your face)
@Gatitasecsii I know that, but for a wider fov you need more pixels. Like the big screen beyond uses a similar display, but due to the wider fov the resolution could be better. These glasses aren't worth it for mix reality applicions, its just made to watch videos and play games on.

This upgraded XReal One model appears to match some of the features already offered by the Viture product, which I use. Is there any advantage on switching to these glasses? On the Viture’s I get on-device prescription correction, no accessories needed. Why didn’t they implement that on this new product? What is the maximum supported screen resolution in pixels (width and height) when connecting it to a laptop?
I think they have a different batch mine do not say bose audio on them and they are the one and I love them. I want a legion go with no screen give me more power more batteries and I'll be happy

The price is what’s stopping me from getting these for 300$ I’ll be all in but 500 😢 is to steep I just got a meta 3s and love how it work but it seems more of something my child would love for vr games and since I’m all in on iPhone and iPad as my productivity platform these glasses are better then Vision Pros because I can’t mirror my iPhone or iPad to a Vision Pro natively. But this 500$ price is the only thing stopping me 😫
No such thing exist right now. Otherwise we would've had wireless computer monitors by now. Transmitting keyboard and mouse inputs is not the same as transferring a ton of megabytes of video streaming data per second between the computer/phone to glasses. The only thing I've seen that can do this is a wireless wifi dongle for VR headsets or an app like Virtual Desktop for the Meta Quest to play desktop VR games wirelessly, but both methods need a centralized wifi connection like a home internet wifi modem to work. This wouldn't work well for something like an Xreal glasses since it's meant to be taken on the go and for travel. However, I'm sure Xreal is probably working on a wireless solution for the later future. They seem to be making improvements frequently
The one thing that's concerning is I haven't found a review of this product that hasn't been paid by the company yet, that's concerning. If you have a good product you shouldn't have to pay somebody to review it and say good things about it. So videos like this are basically like a glorified commercial.
I have the XREAL Air’s from a few years back. They’re great on the go glasses. They’re kind of like the next step of being able to put in Bluetooth headphones when in a long line at the grocery store etc. However in this case it’d be waiting to get your tires changed, hotel visit, train, airport, etc. Personally Mobile Gaming now makes sense to me with these glasses.
It’s been like this since these type of glasses came out only sponsored and yet they already had to change their name from nreal to xreal is super skep too.
As someone who purchased the XREAL Airs myself, they are actually a good product. The company does not care about the software unfortunately, but delivers on the product itself. Reviewers do over-exaggerate some things but generally a good buy if you come in with the right expectations of having these as portable monitors rather than AR glasses.

For the price, they were impressive at $399. I’ve definitely got use cases, go to a hotel or Airbnb and no longer have to worry about a tiny tv, bring a good pair of headphones and you’re good. Thinking about it, hell I binge watched Kaiju No. 8 on them while out the country last summer sitting outside enjoying the breeze lol.

So pick the same spot when you review these, and say it's about an X" screen from that point. That is WAY MORE accurate and gives people a better understanding of the dimensions. Simply saying 200" means absolutely nothing.

They are definitely on to something and on the right track! I think they at least need to get it to 2K OLED. Also, they can do a lower resolution mode using onboard cpu and have a higher resolution mode using your phone or computer! I would pay 1k for that!
I'm waiting for 1440P before I get another pair. 4K would be nice, but these are already in DRM hell for HD content much less 4K. If you sail the high seas then that won't matter as much.

These are video display AR glasses. Meta Ray Bans and even Orion are different products. If you want to take a big screen with you. This is great for gaming and watching movies. That is where they excel.

Extended my budget to get the original Xreal AR glasses, most uncomfortable to use glasses for me, ever. Price point and lack of functionality plus past experience stops the purchasing of the next set. 500+ u.s. dollars for a portable monitor is too expensive for me.

I said this the same day I found XREAL after watching the Apple Vision Pro reveal and seeing the $3499 price tag. This would be a great entry level product to the vision line.
Viture xr pro is still better. Larger field of view. Magnetic connector. They have also onboard accelerometer ( how ever I never use this feature). And they look kinda better on the head, so not as large as XREAL.
I have the original nreal light glasses. Still waiting for a real api instead of the limited unity plugin. Meanwhile, xreal came out with yet another piece of hardware... Disappointing.
Do you have any thoughts on why they are even selling the XReal One Pro for $100 more??? According to the specs, it has a slightly new chip and software, somewhat more for... and more brightness by 100 nits... and no 4k for the pro model... They do provide this info. The perceived screen size is 147" from 4 meters away.

PPD is a function of resolution/fov. How can resolution not matter?

On an extra note, there's almost NOBODY covering these glasses independently, this company spends a great deal sponsoring these kinds of fake reviews instead of investing on software R&D that would make the experience worthwhile.
I wish they had a different product design/er. The bootleg Rayban frames that sit super far from your face look uhh yeah.
They are definitely on to something and on the right track! I think they at least need to get it to 2K OLED. Also, they can do a lower resolution mode using onboard cpu and have a higher resolution mode using your phone or computer! I would pay 1k for that!

I'm waiting for 1440P before I get another pair. 4K would be nice, but these are already in DRM hell for HD content much less 4K. If you sail the high seas then that won't matter as much.

These, yes. If you are near sighted, get the Viture Pro. I started with X Real but went to Viture for the diopter adjustments for each eye.

Well the Pixel density on xreal one dropped so it is not good for productivity as claimed! I wait form the pro Version. Xreal air 2 ultra is still better in most cases

Why would you want 2560x1440p on a display thats 50ppd? You already cannot discern pixels at that size. Tell me you're ignorant about VR/AR optics without telling me you're ignorant about VR/AR optics. All that would do is kill your battery life.
How long did the glasses last on the steam deck and compared to normal usage how long did the battery drain compared to not using them

In my opinion - with android XR having recently being unveiled and the current gen meta glasses being as old as they are, now might be the worst time to cough up this much money for these - this form factor will be so big in 2025
These are video display AR glasses. Meta Ray Bans and even Orion are different products. If you want to take a big screen with you. This is great for gaming and watching movies. That is where they excel.

Extended my budget to get the original Xreal AR glasses, most uncomfortable to use glasses for me, ever.
Price point and lack of functionality plus past experience stops the purchasing of the next set. 500+ u.s. dollars for a portable monitor is too expensive for me.

I said this the same day I found XREAL after watching the Apple Vision Pro reveal and seeing the $3499 price tag.
This would be a great entry level product to the vision line.

Viture xr pro is still better. Larger field of view. Magnetic connector. They have also onboard accelerometer ( how ever I never use this feature). And they look kinda better on the head, so not as large as XREAL.
I have the original nreal light glasses. Still waiting for a real api instead of the limited unity plugin. Meanwhile, xreal came out with yet another piece of hardware...

Do you have any thoughts on why they are even selling the XReal One Pro for $100 more??? According to the specs, it has a slightly new chip and software, somewhat more for... and more brightness by 100 nits... and no 4k for the pro model... It seems like a no-brainer to save that $100 and get the available glasses much sooner.

You don't understand VR/AR optics. Educate yourself. Resolution doesn't matter, PPD does. 1080p at 50deg horizontal FOV is extremely sharp with no screen door effect. 4K would add zero benefit but would kill your battery life faster. These aren't equivalent to monitors.
