- Disclaimer: I have nothing against the Bakeneko60, in fact, it's one of my daily drivers. I just used it as a point of reference to describe the ridiculously low price of the M1.

You’re so underrated, vids are much better than most of the well known channels. I have a feeling you’ll start growing fast, keep it up man.
Tysm!
nice video
I went through multiple reviews and reddit posts. I think I will pull the trigger with the M1W - Silver. Going to pair it with the GMK Hero and call it a dream board for now. It will be my second keyboard. Thank you for your review.
I'm glad my review could help! Good luck woth your build
@@SimulatorTech Thank you! :D
@@SimulatorTech Purchased on Monsgeek. Can't wait!
Hey remember me simulator tech I've been here since 300 subs, and it's great to see ur doing so much better. I've started a channel of own and I kind of like making vids.
Hey, glad to see a long-time sub, and good luck with your channel! ❤️
Got any tips for growing your channel?
I would mostly focus on making videos that people are interested in. People were I treated in the m1 so it got lots of views and oulled in tons of subscribers
Crazy Charming keyboard
Tyty ❤️
godlike sound
Bro is trying so hard and have a good content but doesnt grow. I feel bad for you and hope you will grow more soon, bc u deserve way more subs! Have been subscribed to you since u had like 700
Damn had me in the first half ngl but tysm man I appreciate it!
Lol he got me with the first half too now you got a new sub cheers🥂
Some people succeed and some don't
Unfortunately everyone can't succeed, capitalism is a zero sum game
It sound so damn amazing

i was looking for a review on the Akko cool grey keycaps and your video has them on the EXACT SAME KEYBOARD im planning to put them on
I got the black yea I love this board gave a like
Bro, this was exactly what i was looking for, gained my sub, i need a budget board to build my first custom keeb, i saw this option and the keychton v1, but i was afraid i couldn't make it sound thocky/creamy, also any tips to make it sound even better?
To make the m1 sound better? I mean if you want creamy then use all the foams including pe and use the tape mod. Also use a deeper sound switch like a gat black ink v2
Literally was looking at this last night because Akko's new flex-cut PCB works on this. Are you going to try that PCB out?
I haven't heard of that. I don't think I'll try it since I gave my m1 away to a friend
How do you think this board compares to the Portico 75, both build quality and sound wise? I know they are in different price brackets and the M1 is metal, but they both seem like great value for the price. I have heard some complaints about the top of the M1 being stiffer. Also which board do you think would make for a thockier sound? I'm thinking for thock I want to go with Anubis or Boba U4T switches, SA keycaps, and then either an fr4 plate or maybe POM or aluminum. Sorry for the massive paragraph, there is so many choices to make in buying a keyboard lol.
M1 wins for sure. If you use force break mod and tape mod, the m1 is super thocky bc of the pc plate. The portico75 is really good but the difference in quality isn't worth imo
@@SimulatorTech Thanks so much!
May I ask what's the difference between just the switches holding the plate and PCB together vs screws? Is it mostly for the flex? Thanks
Screwing the plate and pcb together helps with the stability of the assembly, but I find that majority of the time, without the screws, it still works just as well and creates a more uniform sound
Thanks for the vid, like!
Is there any chance yo see a review of a wireless M1W model?
What's your thought on it?
I actually have one coming in the mail so hopefully I'll have a video out on it soon
How about gasket mount performance ? With and without foam
did you do the force break mod with the included stab pads or tape?
I used painters tape
Which one do you recommend between this, MOD 007 PC, and Keychron Q1 Pro. I want to try some flex, and my preference is deep sound. Modding isn't a problem for me as long as I don't need to drill, saw, or do something risky. Other boards are welcomed for me.
Unless you really care about having an aluminum board, I think the mod007pc is the way to go. It's the cheapest, has the most flex, and although it's pretty clacky out of the box I think with a few mods it can sound nice and deep. The caveat is It's always out of stock so you'll have to grab it when it's in stock
hi im new to keyboarding build what is the double coated tape use for? it came in the box but idk what to do with it or where it goes
Dope video man! I just wanna ask what you think this compares to the yunzii yz75?
Hey thanks for stopping by! I think the M1 is better in terms of quality and sound, but the yz75 has more features like wireless, badge, etc. I personally would get the m1 but only if I didn't need wireless
What mic are you using for your sound test? I like the sound :)
Thanks 😁
I use this one a.co/d/hz25ToH
There's shipping on top so realistically it's about $120 to the US.
Seems like everyone has to force break theirs to get rid of the ping.
Keycaps + switches so…
$190
@@zenithchan1646 board, lube, stabs, films, switches, keycaps. total of 300 euro's...
Hey Sim Tech, I'm really torn between Q1 and M1. Budget isn't a big factor but will feel good saving a lot more if end-product is of similar experience. (I'm looking to build creamy for PowerPoint & Excel mostly) Your feedback would be greatly appreciated if you have used a Q1 v2 recently with this M1. Thanks! Ans nice channel :)
Personally I would go for the M1. It costs less, has a similar build quality, and includes a Polycarb plate which is WAY better for a creamy or thocky sound signature compared to the steel plate of the m1
@@SimulatorTech Thank Sim Tech. I acutally saw some of Monsgeek's plate alternatives. So not worth getting POM/FR4 etc.? will the stock suffice? (I bought Akko Creamy Yellows already lol for whichever keyboard!)
@@SimulatorTech Also just out of curioisity...what is your actual daily keyboard? :)
Yeah the pc plate will provide the deepest sound but make sure to pair it with the pe foam and tape mod. Also the akko cream yellows are great 😁
Honestly it changes a lot 😅
Rn it's mostly my zoom tkl, but sometimes I'll switch to my bakeneko, my zoom65v2, or my epomaker rt100 bc silent switches
Please review the finalkey v65!
That's one of the boards I'm really interested in so I'll try to get one for a video
am really considering getting this base with either ktt strawberrys or gateron oil kings, which one do you think would be a better fit for a more thocky sound signature?
I believe the oil kings would be deeper, but more importantly, use the included tape mod. That will make a pretty big difference
@@SimulatorTech icic, thanks!!
Completely unrelated but how does flex cuts on plates impact the sound? I have a few board with only plate cuts and was wondering if I should fill it up permanently.
In my experience, plate flex cuts have very little effect on sound compared to pcb flex cuts. I personally wouldn't bother filling up the plate flex cuts but if you want to try then by all means go ahead 👍
@@SimulatorTech by little, how small is the effect?
Im sure the plate flex cuts make a difference, but I dont know if it's very noticeable. With my zoom tkl, I taped the flex cuts on the pcb and left the plate flex cuts uncovered, and it sounded pretty good. I'm probably not the best person to talk to about this topic since I haven't tested it a whole lot
@@SimulatorTech OK np
Hi , can I ask whats the difference between screw in pcb and only using the switch to hold the board at 2:08 ?
With the screws the pcb and plate hold together more tightly, but without, the sound is more uniform and the feel is more consistent
Ohh, I see. Since I'm new to the Keeb world, ur advice is very helpful to me. Thank you brother.
No problem if you have any questions feel free to ask!
did you have to solder at all?
Nope
i get M1W full kit at 83,51 USD
aren't they coming out with a wireless version?
No idea
would you recommend this or the barebones sense75? they're both $100
The sense75 has a back since it's got the brass weight, but the m1 has better sound profile (though the sense75 can sound decent woth mods). It's up to you but i would personally go for the m1
@@SimulatorTech gocha, thank you so much!
No problem!
Does monsgeek need a 7U spacebar
Nope just a standard 6.25u spacebar
Why the side ways - key lol but yeah this keyboard is crazy good for the price
I was waiting for someone to notice that 😂
What's kecaps?
Akko cool grey keycaps 👍
The stabs on mine were very rattly 😭 how did you fix that?
Some lube should significantly reduce the rattle, but if that doesn't work maybe try the holee mod. Hamaji Neo has a great video ab it :)
@@SimulatorTech thanks, i panicked when i heard my spacebar 😂
Haha rattly spacebars will be the death of me
What stabs are you using Staebies won't fit with the PC plate.
I just used the included screw ins. If the staebies won't fit you may need to file down the opening
@@SimulatorTech Mine didn't come with screw in stabs, just the crappy clip ins. I ended up desecrating the PC plate to get the Staebies to work but it's a couple of the stabs are still a little bit sluggish. I'm worried that an FR4 plate won't fit if I order one for the board.
Huh, maybe it's because you purchased through a different vendor? Starbies do have really tight tolerances, so you don't need a ton of lube to make them sound good. Unless you really want one, I would avoid the fr4 plate since it might not fit your staebies and you really shouldn't file it down.
@@SimulatorTech I'm gonna throw some TX stabs in there with the FR4 plate since it was only $10 and see if they work out. I was kind of set on using the Staebies since I bought them for the board and they work with the PC plate shaved down and clipped but there's still a little bit of sluggishness on the left shift and backspace. It's a build for my wife and she loves it but I almost feel like I need to make the stabs perfect before I can be content.
Yup, I totally understand. If they fit, I think tx stabs are great, so good luck with the build!
what bit to open it?
Oh dude I don't remember. Def a hex bit but I'm not sure which what size specifically
@SimulatorTech figured it out.. my keeb didn't come with one:(.. luckily the 9$ temu kit with like 200 sizes got me
LOL nice!
This or kechron v1
Haven't tried the v1 yet, but the v1 is cheaper, and this is fully aluminum.
Budget huh
Yep
NO WAY SAME KEYBOARD COLOR SAME KEYCAPS AND SAME MOUSE
YO WE MUST BE SEPARATED TWINS OR SMTH 😂
As someone who just made her first build for $140 (including keycaps, switches, lube, foam and tape) I wouldn't call a $100 dolars for just the keyboard a "ridiculously low price" but I guess it is for the hobby lol.
Yeah I mean objectively $100 is not a small amount, but within the keyboard space it's really good for an aluminum board
@@SimulatorTech Yup, I know! Metallic boards are always expensive, it is surprising to find one at this price
Recommend a very cheap but very clacky keyboard
I'm sure you could get it to sound deeper with the tape mod sticker. I just chose not to
is this just a copy cat of GMMK pro or the other way around?
Not really a copy. I haven't tried the gmmk pro but from what I've seen the m1 is WAY better than the gmmk pro. Better case finish, better sound profile, better gasket implementation, better price
