Let me first begin by saying I have watched hundreds of reviews, and you sir, this is the best review of a vehicle I have ever seen. Amazing review, Ben! 😍
I love how this SUV was configured. I would configure it like this, though I would have the exterior in silver, blue, white or grey. A colour like on this GLC is not for me, especially considering it gets sunny a lot here where I am, and dark colours don't do it for me and they reflect too much light, so the car's character lines disappear. Worse if it is dirty. I love how Mercedes-Benz silver, grey, and white look all-throughout the year; whether it is raining, snowing, sunny, or overcast. Hence why my C-Class is silver. And my feeling on black or very dark colours are not unique to Mercedes-Benz. Just...any black from any brand does not do it for me. Even Rolls Royce, which I have seen one (a Wraith) in black in real life. Did not like it that much. And I love black as a colour and I love how Mercedes-Benz does it the most, but still would not want it on my car. Just my opinion.
The GLC may be my next vehicle next year, but maybe the Coupé version. I wresting with buying the GLC, the GLC Coupé, or the 2021 C-Class that has not come out yet. All as plug-in hybrids. I still cannot afford the GLE as I want it configured, so that is sadly a no for me. My dream GLE is about €103 000. E-active Body Control shot up the price, by the way. Otherwise it would be around €93 000, I think. Right now the absolute highest and tolerable price I am able to pay for a car is about €80 000.
The front of the GLC and the closed intake you brought to my attention; it makes sense for it to be like that because this is the non-AMG (from Affalterbach) variant, so there is no radiator or twin-turbo V8 engine that needs extra cooling. And this is meant to be an off-road SUV first and a city SUV second, so that part is meant to take more of a beating in the unforgiving roads and in the salt and snow. It depends on how you configure it. You can make it more off-road friendly and rugged like this one is, or city friendly with the AMG package and larger wheels. Notice how all Mercedes-Benz SUVs are like that, which I like. I would not put the AMG package on any of them if I were buying them, because I would actually go off-road with them. I did this when I had the GLA. Amazing.
    EQ Power = Plug-in hybrid.
    EQ Boost = Mild hybrid.
I would definitely get the GLC 350de. I just wish there was a 450de, which I can't find on ANY Mercedes-Benz SUV. Maybe it was too difficult to engineer it into the SUVs due to space or layout or maybe it made no sense with the engine's displacement, emission levels, or output. Or maybe demand for a 450de not that high. Or maybe one is coming. I am not sure. We shall see.
Thank you for the video, Ben. I like the RUclips channel name change, by the way. Sounds great. All the best! 😎

I'd recommend the GLC Coupe. I don't know about its visibility in the back window. Otherwise, it's a stellar ride. I think it would be worthwhile to drive a whole lot of SUVs for you. Go into a dealership and spend like 4 hours. They'll let you drive whatever you prefer. The interesting thing is that this GLC 350e was out there in the lot gathering dust. I had to first run it through the wash, and then do the review because everyone was busy at the dealership. There is another black one w/ a black leather interior. I am hoping to start doing drives soon - first things first - build rapport w/ the dealership and then the finer drives will come later.

Omg. You flipped the seats down with the rear cupholders out. 😕 Not good.

    • @BenjaminMutuku
      @BenjaminMutuku  4 года назад

Trust me - that's fine. The designers thought about this because w/ kids, you can imagine how they will treat those seats. There is a mechanism that allows those cup holders to retract and that's what they did. Thank you for tuning in.

May I butt in? They’ve made it a really smooth transition. You don’t notice the difference between electric or diesel unless you really push the accelerator hard, you rarely need to do this though.

    How disappointing Mercedes!
I have a GLC350e 4 matic 2020 and it takes 8 to 10 hours to charge 29 miles electric. If you don't drive enough the day before, then the battery charge less electric mileage. There's something bad with the gas tank lid and often the yellow engine light turns on. I have to purge the tank sometimes 3 times and close the lid to eliminate the warning.⚠
This is my second Mercedes Benz car and I believe you people could be better. Worst! Recently saw a video on MB AVTR model capable to charge a battery in 15 minutes while selling your customers with a very impractical car. Its a hassle! #mercedesbenz #ReadThis

If you charge using the standard 110v household outlet, that sounds about right. That's about the maximum limit of the 110v, not Mercedes fault. Even Tesla cars only charge at a rate of 2-4 miles per hour using the 110v (see for yourself: www.tesla.com/support/home-charging-installation/faq#normal-110-volt-outlet ) Can't comment on the other quality issues.

Greetings and thanks for answering. Changed the charger to 220v and the problem was solved. Now full charge in about 2 hours. For 90k they must include the 220v charger don't you think?🤔
I took it to repair because of the engine warning and although they said it was a sensor error and "fixed it", it continues to appear whenever fill the gas tank and disappears after purging the tank. I decided to leave things just like that because they themselves admitted that they have only 1 mechanic who knows how to work with electric cars. 😬
For everything else, the GLC is fantastic!
      Merry Christmas! 🎄

The worst Mercedes ever Made. Google GLC 350e for real reviews, brand new Car had battery issues Ac issues at 7000 miles was in the shop for 10 day. Since Ive had it back been in 2 more times . The engine light has been on 9 times,. The Break Light has come on 4 times , the last while descending the Grapevine., The Dealer cant find anything “wrong” just faults codes, ??? Tell me its safe, Mercedes is basically “ we are so sorry, but too bad “ They did the world a favor and discontinued the car, shame they offer nothing to people unfortunate enough to own or lease.
