Is there a version of this type of video that is JUST in CorelDraw? Or do they all turn into a commercial for a 3rd party plugin by the end? Thanks for wasting my time.
Hi Whitey, 3.0.7 does not have this functionality but we will be releasing the Smart RIP version as 3.0.8 in a day to two. That will be free to SS 3.0 owners.
For this to work you need to change you color preset to Simulated Color Management Off. To do that do to Tools/Color Management then in the upper left change the preset to Simulated Color Management Off.
I am following your video up until this point. Would you know why it is that my channel to mask" box is not lit up? I have X6. Haha I figured it out. You have to click on the black channel in the channels box then your channel to mask will appear. Thanks
Same here I even went and got the exact same image you used and when I try to remove the black it doesn't work. I've tried converting the image to CMYK and all the other tricks I can think of I know it works if you use vectors converted to CMYK bitmap the black drops right out. So what’s the trick?
What size did you download? I used original size and mine is coming out with a gray background not clear as in the video as I adjust the black level. I have CD X-6
That is pretty cool. I am a PS guy so I always design and sep there and only use Corel for text or simple vector art. Have to say that is definitely pushing the envelope in Corel though! I have done some amazing prints designing in PS with three colors using the color overlay method with a color, two whites and a black tee.
Curious as to why you didn't use the red and yellow channels generated from your plug-in and change them to be flesh colors (a yellow/cream flesh and an orange/brown flesh) for a more accurate representation of the flesh tones? I realize that the art is orange leaning but I would worry it would look too cartoon-ish when printed.
I agree, great lesson Tom. Thank you too, for going the whole distance with it. That helps a lot. I can't wait for more videos and the Smart RIP release!
Great Lesson Tom, what mesh count would you use, including the base?

This only works in X6. The convert channel to mask online works in CorelDRAW X6. I think that is why you are having an issue.
My option 'channel to mask' is greyed out also and I'm using x5.
Is that will work in Corel Draw 2019 (64-Bit) ?
It should be no problem

When i try to create a mask in PAINT, the option 'channel to mask' oesnt appear... i am using x3. is this the significant difference?
Another great lesson Tom.
I wish that I was more "graphic art" smart and could grasp these concepts without watching your videos over and over.
