I listened to this story every year with my sister at Christmastime. Our Mother had the record and we listened , and listened loving the story.I almost cried when I found it today AND I listened with great JOY and LOVE at 49 years old.
One of my very favorite Christmas stories. So beautiful and always makes me cry. The loveliest. Gorgeous with Gregory Peck's voice. I used to have the album with the flip side of "The Littlest Angel" read by Loretta Young. Somehow got lost when we moved things from my mother's house. Thank you so for posting here. Love so much.
I remember listening to both stories every Christmas. My dad would play both of them and I remember trying not to cry. The ending of each story was so wonderful. There is such joy knowing that God makes all things right in the end and His eye is on each of us.
Had this growing up. My sister cried when she was little for Hey You and always LOVED this story. It has been missing from my life for many years. Thank you!
Our family listened to this every Christmas season on WMT out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Jerry Carr, the host of a weekly Sunday night program of easy listening music played this on the Sunday night right before Christmas. My children (who are all in their forty's) loved it!
THANK YOU THANK YOU for doing this for those of us who wore our albums out and have LONGED to hear the story again. I actually believe that when Christ was born there were more miracles than could ever be counted at that glorious appearing. This child's story I have no trouble believing that might have actually happened!
I love this story!! We had the record and every Christmas we would gather around the victrola and listen to this story. We had much of it memorized! I'm so excited to now share thus my grandkids
We listened to this on the radio every Christmas Eve in Chicago, late 1970s-late '80s. Gosh, I never realized it was Gregory Peck. "My name's not 'Ay-You', it's Ezekiel!"
I played this story and "The Littlest Angel" every Christmas for my children, who are 53 and 50 now, my Daughter started playing them for her Children, she reminded me Yesterday "Christmas day" that she and her Children now 23 and 21 that they played it before coming to Christmas Dinner.
An essential part of my childhood, we listened to this recording, and to the ‘Littlest Angel’ every year. I am so thrilled to have found it here.

I wish I knew where to get this story in writing. I love it.
I have never heard this story before.
who could hate this, really?
I still have the set of 45RPM records. A little scratchy after all those years, but still fun to hear.
