My will literally states that I don't care what happens to my body. But I also make suggestions to take any preasure off my family. I suggested creamation and suggested a biroal site if they go that route.
And this is why the first thing I handed to my lawyer when my dad passed was the amended birth certificate issued after my adoption. Never had a problem, but it was my biggest concern
I hope you guys (or some other lawyers) were able to help that girl and her great aunt sue the hell out of those sisters and their scummy lawyer to recover fees and hopefully some punitive damages for filing a frivolous and vexatious lawsuit.
You should consider a collab with Caitlin Doughty of Ask a Mortician. She has content on what methods are and aren't legal for dealing with dead bodies. Pretty sure burning in a boat is one of those you can't do. But it would make for an interesting conversation
An actual Viking funeral would be a cremation on a funeral pyre, and then if you were rich and your children liked you, you could be lucky enough to have a ship make up your burial mound. Ragnar Lothbrok only got a normal burial mound, and HBO made a show about him, so this is a pretty cocky wish from Mike.
It's also important to note that this was described as a hero's funeral, by the vikings. And your wife would sometimes be killed and buried with you, back when people were given ships, so this would also be mike's wife's burial. Anyhow happy holidays from Scandinavia
Also, cremation on a pyre not as efficient as a furnace, there will be bones left, maybe even some soft tissue, especially if the pyre was on a flammable boat. It may sound cool, but it would be a messy process, since afterward someone will have to fish out a charred corpse.
There was a story I heard years ago of state vs deceased for viking funeral. State didn't like open air burning. They had to cremate and put the urn on the boat, only to have problems with hitting it later.
Nice to always know where one stands 😂. Glad you took care of the daughter. The things people do for money; either brings out the best or absolutely the worst in a person.
QUESTION: Do I have a case or not? Canidae dog food- We specifically chose the limited ingredient, salmon and sweet potato recipe since our dog has a lot of allergies and this was one food that didn’t contain those. We had it on auto ship, and were shipped a bag that said “new look”. It had a picture of the old bag and said “may receive either packaging”. We were like ok cool they just updated the design on the bag. We just found out that the ingredients list was changed! It now includes flaxseed, one of the foods our dog is allergic to! We’ve been feeding this to him for probably a year or more! The bag still says “grain free” on the front of the new design as well, so I didn’t think to check. Our dog has continuously struggled with itching, joint pain, and ear issues as well as weight gain even with less calories and exercise. Our vet said that it must be environmental since it’s not his food…. Quick research tells me that flaxseed can technically not be considered a grain for pet food. Even though a lot of grain free products leave it out, so in my continuous looking for treats or other things I never noticed it. So that I could see as my fault, I should’ve know that or could’ve figured it out. BUT the fact that when ordering it online, you might receive either packaging, ESPECIALLY when they tout “limited ingredients” - any consumer would assume it is the same and therefore I feel lied to and that it has caused health issues for my dog.

My sister and mom passed away a few years ago. They were both cremated. My dad has their urns but I have smaller heart shaped ones with their ashes. Nice to look at them any time I want without having to go to a cemetery.
Unrelated question: When a police officer is working private security, is he still a police officer with all the same powers and protections? I would think most people would argue that if he's not working on the people's dime, then he's not a law enforcement officer during that side gig. However, I see a number of reports where someone gets tagged by an officer working private security and gets charged with assaulting an officer even though it is not official duty and he is not being paid by the public at the time.
Normal full-time police officers in most states are generally considered peace officers at all times, so they have the power to arrest, etc. State-by-state, it can vary if reserve officers have their powers while not on duty
@zachava Does this include where the officer is being paid by a private organization? I am not including situations where the local municipality might be providing extra security for an event and the event organizers might be reimbursing the municipality or sheriff's office for costs.
Since Stokes is in Atlanta, and can't think of where the ashes need to be spread there is only one choice... The Big Chicken. Preferably not actually in the chicken.
I mean, unless the guy had a will that stated that the only person to get his money was “my biological daughter” then it shouldn’t matter right?? If he had a will I would imagine that it’d be written “my daughter, (daughter’s name)”, meaning her being his daughter by DNA wouldn’t matter. Even he didn’t have a will I would imagine that his name would be on her school paperwork as her father, this is assuming she’s still a minor since the great aunt is her guardian, or medical paperwork of some kind, that combined with the text message would be proof that not only was he recognized as her father, by her and he recognized her as his daughter, but he was Seen as her father by others including the school and doctors, even if he wasn’t in her birth certificate.
So stick with me here. This is not meant to be controversial. This is just the law in Georgia. Going way back to slavery, they were very strict rules about inheritance, where a child would only inherit if they were on the birth certificate. This was mainly because slave owners would have babies with slaves. And they did not want those children to inherit their wealth. So those rules still exist, at least remnants of those rules still do. So Jorge is very strict about needing a father on the birth certificate. And when a father is not, there are a lot of hoops you have to jump through to prove paternity, even when it is obvious. Hopefully this makes sense, I dictated it since it is a long answer.
Great video, but wouldn't the County Coroner have DNA from the father? Also, while the first two songs for your funeral would be accepted by the Catholic Church, Sweet Caroline most definitely would not.
Fairly certain the CC has no reason to run DNA in a routine wrongful non-homicide death other than to confirm the identity of the body in their office. Probably wouldn't be enough leftover samples from that to undeniably confirm paternity, like with a femur
the bottom two messages are either swapped or I really don't understand this conversation: blue: I love you baby [dad] white: I love you too Daddy [daughter] blue: I am your daughter [dad??] white: and I am your dad [daughter??]
Those phrases seemed like they were a standard way of ending a conversation between the two of them. If they used those phrases each time, there would be no reason to show them more than once on screen but it does seem like a convenient set up when you only see one version of the exchange.
@@ZiggyGrok Could be it's not the actual text messages and just an error in editing, or one set of messages was from the daughters phone and the other was from the dad's phone.

Can't sue someone who's broke. And since the lawyer didn't show up to court, not a whole lot to catch him with.

@3:20 I need that lawyer’s info. His dark sense of humor sold me on contacting him if I ever need a lawyer.
You should always directly name beneficiaries on insurance and accounts
Some cemeteries have a building full of little cubbies that have people’s urns in them.
