Michael Keaton Talks About His New Film About McDonald's, 'The Founder' | The actor plays Ray Kroc, the business tycoon behind McDonald's in the upcoming film.
I knew Ray Croc personally. My wife and I were guests at Ray's ranch in California for a transportation meeting as I was the operator of a big Mac bus that was one of 16 that Ray had donated to communities free of charge to senior citizens, Boy scouts, girl guides, and any charitable organization free for a day and a complimentary lunch at McDonald's restaurants. I had driven Ray on three separate occasions, once in Montreal, Canada and twice in Toronto, Canada and let me tell you there was not a nicer gentleman to work for.
A great movie. Even Michael admits he was a hard worker. He gave most of his money to charity and that part was left out of the movie. Sure he was driven but most men that make it big are.
He donated most of the McDonald's brothers money to charity I fixed that for you. Ray Kroc was a thief. Did the bros under rate their concept sure. But it was theirs. This was legal theft which is American at this point.
@@BrandonCorby-wr5nd A thief? He payed the brothers fair and square in a cash buy out. Kroc was just about covering his own bills at the time. The McDonald Bros did not have the same ambition like he did. They could have easily started another company but they didn't, they even had more capital at the time. I think what Kroc most liked was the name. He wanted that name cos he knew it sells. Something was definitely wrong with the brothers. Perfectionists with low ambitions, and seem to just enjoy staying local. Oh well. Kroc made it a world phenomena
mik 02910 “fair and square” he lied about how he had to make a handshake deal and scammed them hundreds of millions that they legally needed. nothing was wrong with them for not wanting to spend their lives stepping on people to make billions and ruin lives. not everyone feels the need to be stupidly rich. they stopped even being able to use their own surname or ideas in a company, so why would they bother when one of them was hospitalised from stress ray caused them and both of them were old and forced to give up: they loved their business before he literally tore it down and built his commercial version over it. he could’ve come up with his own name and been done with it but he had to ruin their lives in the process out of greed
mik 02910 do you suffer from a disease to even think this guy was a fair person, he was a terrible greedy leech and I hope Ray Kroc is remembered to be a prick
The Founder was great. though i can't imagine how the real ray kroc would feel about how mcdonalds is being runned these days. We've all seen mcdonalds pasta 11pm.....
Mace Windu he didn’t steal anything. The brothers knowingly went into the deal with Kroc, they got one and a half percent profit from every franchise he added and And then each brother got $1 million apiece to sell out to Kroc and that was in 1961. A million dollars in 1961? I think the brothers did pretty good.
The movie dramatized some things, but it's awesome nonetheless! For example, the takeover wasn't as bitter as depicted - the brothers actually were satisfied with the money and everyone ended in good terms.
The McDonald's Brothers screwed themselves by hiring a crappy attorney that let them do a handshake deal on the royalties. They should have sued him. Dopes.
Marcin P Because like many people, Ray Kroc was a complex figure with many shades of grey. As much as the film showcases a lot of the seedier aspects of his personality, he was also a very successful person who changed American culture and changed the world.
@@BrandonCorby-wr5nd Everybody is Hitler today. Really, comparing a successful, although character flawed man to a monster that killed millions? Talk about a large jump!

Michael Keaton’s Batman is the only one who could smile at his enemy and have it be intimidating.
Did we forget Adam West? That dude had the batoosi. His own dance! Lmao!
Michael Keaton’s best role by far . Great actor . Awesome movie ! Btw . The blonde interviewer is hot !

#FACTS
Without Kroc no-one would have known McDonald's today. Only people from San Bernadino. And likely only as a nostalgic memory.
