- 💬 Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) is our way of communication with the surface.
🤓 There are different ways to deploy it underwater. This video is to show 2 small adjustments that you can do with your equipment to make the SMB deployment easier :-)

Great Video Bartek very useful information
How you launched the smb is great, I might use that, as I'm pretty much the only one at my club who uses a spool 😂
Thanks for posting 🤘🤘
I removed the steel insert on mine and air just comes out of rubber tube now ? Had to install again. Diving cold water sucks having that metal pc
I seriously still dont understand how to use this. Everytime i try it just flops onto the water.
You need tension on the line under the water, small weights on the bag bottom help a bit
Please correct me if I'm wrong, what could stop water from getting into and even preventing air from escaping (after you have orally inflate) your DSMB if you have removed the one way oral inflation valve?
Thank you for that question Caesar.
Actually, the one way inflation valve remains in the rubber pipe. The removed metal element is just an inflation hose nozzle. Even if you remove it, the SMB remains sealed.
I think it is a good idea to check where the manufacturer of your SMB places the valve: in the metal element or deeper, in the rubber tube.
@@WojtekFilip1 Indeed. I guess only the branded SMB has the removable tip, which most Chinese made are not.
