Glad I found this video. I’m 19 & my posture has been horrible since I was born and it’s ruined a lot of my confidence. At this point I’m willing to try anything. Definitely doing a lot of this everyday.
Same here. I've been working on my kyphosis and lordosis since middle school on and off. This is a great review and reassessment video. Thank you Bob & Brad.
Stormie D. it’s really hard to be consistent at least for me, i still do these once and a while not sure if it made a difference but i have scheuermanns disease which causes it /:
I was diagnosed with congenital kyphosis at age 11 I have chronic back pain that people didn’t understand when I was younger but as I tell them now o have the body of an 80 year old man. I used to go to physical therapy once I was first diagnosed but it was too expensive for my family so I have been looking for a video specifically for this issue and I’ve been looking through your videos but I’ve finally found the video that I’m looking for so thank you
Thank you Bob and Brad! In just 4 days of listening to and then doing several of your PT exercises my back sacrum pain level went from a 9 to a 3! I have called all my friends about your you tube series. Now I am adding all the shoulder and neck exercises. Go Packers!
35, mild shrumans kyphosis, pelvic tilt, major arthritis in most my joints, somewhat healed compression fracture in my lumbar, the list goes on. Still trying, still fighting to keep going. thank you for your content. Keep your back straight people.
Ive been struggeling with kyphosis since I was a kid (im 29 now). I couldnt stand for more than 2 minutes without pain in my low back. Now im running 6km without pain. All these exercises will help you. But the key to fixing kyphosis is to try to push your collarbone (where they meet at the sternum) up to your chin while you do the head tucking as they show here against the wall. After you are able to control that, start moving arms over head without loosing the upward push. Basically start doing all the movements you are supposed to manage (with your collar bone pushing upwards). Always push your collar bone upwards (without curving your low back). If you cant do it without curving your low back then start by doing it in a bent over position like you are supposed to do a bent over barbell row.
I play guitar and work an office job and my slouch definitely shows and it’s starting to hurt around my neck! I cannot express enough thank you so so so much for these videos!
"Wall angels" are really hard at first but after six months I can touch everything to the wall without any hand numbness :) My spouse still has difficulty with this exercise so it is helpful as you show to start with trying to flatten the sacrum against the wall. We also measured the distance from head to wall as you showed in another video.
I love your stuff. One suggestion if you give a list at the end of the exercises at the end that would be helpful. Just 1-10 then I can print it out and take it to the gym. Thanks, I have improved a lot.
I’m so glad I found this!! I’m 24 my neck naturally already sticks straight out and I can feel a hunchback already forming. I’m buying a foam roller right now to get to work on this!!
Your exercises are great and I just figured out that one does not have to do all the exercises you recommend for a specific problem. One should just pick a couple that works for their problem. I was finding it impossible to do all that you recommended. Duh.😎
I got an unwelcome demon in my neck that goes down every time I touch it but pops back up immediately. I have to feel it retreat and come back instantly over and over.
Dear Bob and Brad! Thank you for your effort, professionality in your PT specialisation and very unique, decent and nice sense of fun and humor:)! You two are better than reality show (like you are two best friends or you were two best clastmates from PT studies) and at the same time you provide perfecttly clear and professional PT information for free! God bless you, you are very helpful to other people and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart!Best regards from Michal (Slovak republic).Have a nice day:)
Thank you for this video! I am a Physiotherapist too and your video added ideas on how I must prevent forward head and kyphotic posture to my patient 😍
I just subscribed. Thank you so much Bob and Brad. As a girl it really hurts when someone calls you Gru because of your back. I maybe laughing outside but it deeply hurts inside.
Oh, I must admit I've never heard that one! I've always struggled with kyphosis but people called me Quasimodo or camel. I know exactly what you mean, we need to stay strong.
I have a 5 level failed thoracic fusion and severe kyphosis this is the best utube video on this issue. I wish you both were still doing videos. Not everyone has good insurance for PT. Thanks guys!
ohh my gosh! I have this from Osteoporosis and I am only 50 and my spine is continuing to detoriate but I do pt and work out at least 1 1/2 a day to get as strong as I can. You both look like fit younger persons to me:) Love the ideas! Health clubs and classes and the trainers are only made for fit people with no issues and usually aggrivate me.
oh my gosh! You guys are getting me through PTA school with your candor and wit. This is the first video where I have noticed a "theme song"- LOVE IT! Thank you for having fun with physical therapy because apparently you can't do that in school.
At 65 and after having advanced kyphosis since my teens I've have severe wedging of the discs especially at C6 I've also now got calcified vertebrae in the first 4 of my back down from C6 so I have constant neck pain as I try to make my neck adjust for the deformation of the spine. I guess at my age surgery is out of the question and having to be mindful daily of posture shoulder muscles are constantly sore as they try to pull myself upright. Hope the younger viewers take you're advice as life in pain can seem very very long. Thanks for these exercises.
Hi to the most famous PT in the world. I have Akylosing Spondlitis, and I have to live with. Increasingly I am feeling less and less flexibility and motion, and I can't live like that. I am also overweight, so that does not help. I want to thank you for these exercises and advice. It really helps, and it is good to know that there is something on You Tube that deals with these symptoms. I have that condition where I lie on the floor and my head does not touch. If I continue to do the chin tuck, will it really help my head touch the floor? All your exercises are excellent. I do have the Hunchback posture and its so painful at times. But your advice is excellent. When I sit up and do the chin tucks, I feel pain in the lower back. I had decompression surgery on my spine on my C, T and L Spine 5 years ago. I am now beginning to get pain in my ankles, so that is not very good. At least I know what I have and your channel gives me hope. Thank you. I am doing strength training at the moment with dumbbells and I am enjoying it. Keep up the good work guys!
I need this bad Dr. There's hope for me after a Broken neck and spine fracture. Actually had neck surgery to fuse my neck at 3&4.Thank you! I'll try this for sure, heck at this point I'll try anything man.

I've looked up loads of stuff about this issue and these seem the simplest exercises to do the stretching alone helped right away. Fantastic stuff Thankyou.
Wow. I learned some of these stretches a few yrs Ago. Awesome. I slipped and fell on ice in 1991. And then. It was a circle of no one knowing about upper back and neck injuries. Its a journey. But so grateful you are teaching. So many ways to improve ourselves. Thank you so much. I feel bless cuz. I do have use of arms gently. And. Would love more ways to get range of motion in Neck. God bless you guys
I have really bad neck pain if I stand for more then like 30 minutes so I'm definitely feeling hopeful that I can fix this if it's really as easy as doing a few exercises a day

You aren't kidding about how bad posture causes pain. Forward head carriage definitely has a domino effect of symptoms that makes a person's life miserable. From headaches/migraines to sinus problems to just downright pain. I need to fix this before it gets really bad like my grandma. You'd think her physical therapist would work with her on this, but they haven't! I'm definitely going to jump on them about that. What do you guys think about corrective posture devices? I have a stretchy velcro elastic posture corrector that helps keep the shoulders back. I'd wear it more often but it tends to cut into the skin in certain spots. I've also got a plastic brace for neck support but don't feel it's 'correcting' anything. Any devices you'd recommend?
Hi guys, could you tell me what kind of pillow should be used by a person who has hunchback and what is the best position to sleep, please? ...you are great, best regards. ..tks. ..
Very good exercises, these guys make a great team, each one of them has their own exercises that can help you get better, it sure did to me! But may I ask, I have such a huge hunchback and stiff neck that it makes my head skip/jump a bit to the sides when I want to turn my head to left or right, I don't feel any pain but it's certainly not normal and it feels really scary once I do it/feel it. If anyone is familiar with it, may I have some tips for making it better? Thanks!
Is this condition reversible? Been suffering from this since about 15 years old. At age 35 it's nearly impossible for me to stand up completely straight. Lots of lower back pain as well.
I was born with very flat feet and wore corrective shoes until I couldn't stand them anymore and wanted to wear more fashionable shoes...big mistake I guess. That was how my spine began to curve. When your feet are flat all the joints in your body from your feet to your neck are out of position. I was sick many years and spent a lot of time in bed or sitting and I can barely walk now...weak...can get by with a walker or a wheelchair. I do have some strength in my legs and I need to improve on that so I can walk again. But, I need to get my back straighter as well. Thank you for this video.
Your videos are excellent.I have grade 2 spondylolisthesis since 2 yrs.I do excersises suggested by my physiotherapist.Problem is when I get up in morning my lower back is stiff and it hurts.I start excersise and then it feels better. Can you suggest how to reduce pain? I like ball excersises thinking of starting to do it.And I can do some of the hard excersises suggested .
You all are the best, it lets me know im on right track, I hope you dont care for me asking, but ppl talk also aboyt when they are doing these posture. exercises on also ribcage and doing hip n pelvic exercises but talk about they know by checking their ribcage, going down into the lower stomach to check i think if its also to opening up.... Have you all heard of this or you all could already have a link? but curious. many blessings. have a great night
