I've been listening to Led Zeppelin for over 40 years and I'm very picky about any remakes, but this is incredible!! Great job ladies!! Spot on! Amazing harmonica.
I'm with you there. They're performing in LA in two days, and tickets are $50 but, damn my luck, I can't make it. It also doesn't hurt that they are all very attractive ;)
Yeah , I'd read where Bonham set up the drums at the bottom of stairs so they'd have a slight echo as well as the playback was slowed to get the same effect.
Holy crap. I just found you girls. I've been shooting rock bands since 1974. I'm probably going to be in the Rock Hall of Fame for my pictures. I've been talking to them. I've seen about every band on the planet in the last 50 years. You guys kick. Yer alright. Bill - Columbus, Ohio.
I ran monitors for these ladies a while ago. Besides being incredible musicians, they were all very easy to work with, humble, and extremely nice! A real pleasure to work with!
Wow! These four women just knocked one right out of the park. One of Zeppelin's most spooky, darkest and soulful songs. Know one just "covers" this song. You either got it or you don't. Brilliant!
Awesome Zeppelin cover. The guitarist was on the mark. The lead singer sounded like Plant. The drummer pounded on those skins like it owed her money. Love this version. Thanks for sharing
All very talented. A buddy and me stumbled on to seeing Zepparella at a venue next door from an Arc Angels Reunion show back in 2009 or so. We were blown away by the band. They absolutely nailed all the Zep tunes. Very accomplished musicians. From her website. Gretchen Menn has studied music in college and "has studied, in equal parts, the music of Mozart, Beethoven, Steve Morse, Frank Zappa, and Jimmy Page. (Regarding the latter composer, she performs the music of Led Zeppelin all over the U.S. with Zepparella. It was under the tutelage of classical guitarist Phillip de Fremery, a student of Andrés Segovia, that Gretchen began her path on the instrument. Her father, noted writer and former editor-in-chief of Guitar Player Magazine, Don Menn, was quick to point her in the direction of the greats as soon as she expressed interest in guitar."
Personally, I think the Led Zeppelin cover, of the original 1929 version, is best. It was written & recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie, about the 1927 Mississippi flood.
In my opinion, not many bands can properly cover Led Zeppelin. Not only did you do it, you absolutely nailed it! Absolutely GREAT ladies! Great instrumentation and power vocal!! Loved the harp work of Anna Kristina, as well. Wow, you ladies ROCK!!! Way to do one of the greatest bands of all time justice!!! ~Jackie
I really agree with this.. Especially considered Led Zep was the best as a studio recording group , never so impressed with their live performances. This sounds good (dunno how much it's mixed after recording though)
Blackadder75 Are you kidding me ? Sure there were some that didn't live up to the recordings but live songs like Stairway and In My Time of Dying more than made up for a couple less than efforts. No way did their best come from the studio.
It sounds like they all learned to play their instruments just to record this video. This is one step above high school talent show level of playing. I will admit though that she has a great voice, and the harmonica playing was incredible. @@Whatisthisstupidfinghandle

I’m 70 years old and Page and Plant are my contemporaries - our sunset years have arrived. My greatest fear is the kick-ass music I grew up with will not be picked up by the next generation of musicians and passed on to future music lovers. Considering the state of contemporary music, my fears are well founded. But these BABES and their obvious love for Led Zepp are BAD ASS and reassure me the next generation is not entirely lost. Great cover ladies! "When the Levee Breaks" is a country blues song written and first recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929. The lyrics reflect experiences during the upheaval caused by the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.
Zeppelin lifted many songs from other artist and were taken to court for copyright infringement. Page said that he would alter the guitar parts, and Plant was supposed change the lyrics, but he sometimes didn't, which was the basis for the lawsuits.

And ironically Rap artists have sampled Bohnams drums like 400 times. And also I never would have searched and listened to the original if it wasn't the Zeppelin version.

They never did it live because the guitar and harmonica were added in after it was recorded. These girls are doing a video, not playing live. They are still very good.
I love this version of Zepparella all the women play excellent, but there's no denying the magic of Anna Kristina, she brings me back every time. Glad it was captured on video.
Came here because I just listened to the guitarist, Gretchen Menn, on Jude Gold's podcast... twice. Amazing demonstrations of Page's open tunings including this one. So badass. The whole band doesn't miss anywhere.
Zeppelin ruled the 70s and the only band that gave them competition were the Stones. I was born in 1960 and grew up in the 70s and even today they are my favorite bands. Zeppelin's songs are timeless and I never have gotten tired of listening to them. And Great Job Ladies
4 beautiful, ultra-talented women covering the greatest rock band in history - what could be more awesome? Love the harmonica solo, dig the slide action on lead guitar, deep riffs from the bassist, and the drummer slamming down like her life depends on it. Keep it comin'...MORE MORE MORE.
U bet ur a$$. These women nailed it. Long time Zeppelin fan here. Think I have every album I play on on Sansui system that's too loud for meek neighbors. SPZ9-2s rocking their house. Haha 🤪
I don't know about the "best ever documented" but take a peek at a band called "Dread Zeppelin". It is a Led Zeppelin cover band, with a Elvis impersonator singer that plays the songs with a Reggie style.
@Scott Murphy why don't you tell us how well you could have upstaged Mick Fleetwood on 'go you're own way' and Keith Moon on 'won"t get fooled again' while you're at it?
because they are little boys scared of women with talent. sucks to say it, but some guys will never admit women can be good at rock music. arseholes the lot of them. The rest of us guys appreciative these ladies skills.
Oh my gosh! Four foxy ladies rocking our socks off! Splendid harp & vocal, and the guitarist with the bottleneck slide on the Danelectro takes my breath away. The bass player keeps it solid and I'm surprised there was anything left of the drum kit. Wow!
I'm very impressed!! Firstly most remakes of songs usually sounds nothing like original, I hate when people do remakes, but, you guys actually do this justice! Everything from the harmonica, vocals drums, and even the guitar work is incredible!! It almost sounds better than the original. Kudos to all of you
You are 100% correct, Andy! Led Zeppelin NEVER played their songs the same way twice! That the fans expected it was always a sore spot for Robert Plant!
The running joke at the time was , If you want to hear stair way to heaven the way it was recorded, go out to the car and put in the tape, then come back and enjoy the show.
Yeah man..saw them at the Spectrum in Philly in 1976 (maybe '75? Not sure.. I WAS pretty stoned ;0 ) They did their show and came back for three encores--last one was Stairway to Heaven. Fucking amazing show.
Woah. How have I not heard of this? Absolutely, unquestionably, positively amazing! I want more. Seriously, I don't want to disrespect Led Zeppelin but these girls are on fire- not an average "cover band", I daresay they've got "When the Levee Breaks" rocking harder than Zeppelin. Maybe it's the modern equipment, or the nuances but damn! Seeing this the first time I'm honestly blown away not only by the talent, but by the emotion coming through. They can play! The slide guitar is superb, the drumming is like thunder, the bass is headbanging and vocals are on point! Robert, Jimmy, JPJ & Bonzo would be proud- Bravo!
Gary Stone vocally I would agree but the instrumental side of this song I think zepparella are far better. truer to the original version but that's just my opinion.
@@raechelyndawn2580That is kinda harsh. If they weren't musicians I don't believe I would even have the chance to hear or enjoy their music. How does my liking Zeppelin and Zepparella receive this type of response? On top of all that, you don't know me well enough to judge me.
This is the first time I've had a chance to listen to this version of one of Led Zeppelin's songs. I play harmonica and I have been trying to get the same song in playing where she started off. I've been a fan since I seen them in San Francisco.
Of the singers I've seen in this band, this on'e my fave. 1st off, that harmonica! But she also channels Plant well with he voice. Easily the best cover of this song I've seen heard.
So great to see young musicians performing classics like this at such a talented level. As long as musicians like this are performing with this talent, there’s hope for music.
I seen Zeppelin in Louisville, Ky. In April 1977, and you ladies flat rock, and pulled off the best version of When the Levee Breaks I've seen! You just made my " all time favorites" list, and it's an elite group. Thank you. Rock on!
I been listening to led zepplin since i was a toddler im 55 in 2024 and i have to say all you ladies are extremely talented and to do a Led Zepplin song is astounding in your performance i know Robert Plant and Jimmy Page would be proud❤
I will say this is the best female harmonica player i ever herd of. Wow is all a can say. I wish you girls would play in Minnesota. Thank You Zepparella.
As Grace Slick once said in a song... There will always be assholes... the girls are great, there is nothing to dislike here, those complaining should move along and go somewhere else.
I loved this cover, well done in all aspects. Huge Zep fan and I say they did this justice. Unsure why there are haters for the skills these ladies did on this. Haters should pick up an instrument and see how well they can perform.
Haters can Hate but it still don't change the fact that Gretchen is one of the best guitarists I've heard. You might check her solo stuff on RUclips. Zepparella is a Great Band, they play a lot of their own music also. Gretchen has been in the business for a long long time. So was her Father.👍👍😉😊
I'm sure this feeling is mutual amongst those of us who are new here. My dad just sent me this minutes ago.. very impressed.
This is a song Led covered though. It's not theirs.... :/
The original version was slowed down to make it sound different, they recreate it at normal time.
Wow, this band better never loose Anna Kristina as their singer, she is TOTALY captivating. There is no Zepparella without her.

They did loose her good thing she is back 😂

Anna is absolutely wicked on that thing, everytime I listen to this (well over a decade now) she blows my mind. Stone cold excellent harp no doubt.

Wow! These four women just knocked one right out of the park. One of Zeppelin's most spooky, darkest and soulful songs. Know one just "covers" this song. You either got it or you don't. Brilliant!
Keep in mind this song is not originally by Led Zep's. This song is from the 1920's-30's by an acoustic blues player named Menphis Minnie...

So right! What sort of of plant, ripe tomato perhaps? Just kidding she's not bad once she gets going.
She sounded more like Plant on the albums than Plant does live. Im a plant fan, but he cant hit the notes anymore at all.
Led Z's was a cover of a 1927 effort.
EXCELLENT rendition. The harmonica playing could not be better.
The only thing missing is the drum kit on the staircase in the castle.
I think I can safely say I've never heard a better cover of this tune. Well done, ladies.

Totally credible workout on that material.
Gretchen's solo work is outstanding. Plays, writes, reads music and is amazing talent for sure.
The best cover of When the Levee Breaks since Zeppelin.
You get r done girls awesome
These girls ROCK
I AGREE! Damn good cover!
Amen.
Love Anna and her pussy cat eyes
Zeppelin ruled the 70s and the only band that gave them competition were the Stones. I was born in 1960 and grew up in the 70s and even today they are my favorite bands. Zeppelin's songs are timeless and I never have gotten tired of listening to them. And Great Job Ladies
Those killer videos you keep coming back to this is one of them and they need to get the singer back
cool fuckn band best I've heard in a long time.
Most definitely that would be my first thing I would do is try to get tickets
They have the singer back look up there latest videos, bring it on home .
You girls should come to El Paso, Tx man the way you rock I'm sure you would have a hell of a good crowd!
To me its zeppelin or the who.
U bet ur a$$. These women nailed it. Long time Zeppelin fan here. Think I have every album I play on on Sansui system that's too loud for meek neighbors. SPZ9-2s rocking their house. Haha 🤪
Aww aww aww aww love it!
Some day... Catch them in concert. Definitely worth it.
One of the best Zeppelin covers ever documented. Every band member is on point!
I don't know about the "best ever documented" but take a peek at a band called "Dread Zeppelin". It is a Led Zeppelin cover band, with a Elvis impersonator singer that plays the songs with a Reggie style.
@R C
Great song, great band and great vid, for a fact. Love it!!!
I ❤ gretch
Goin' down on every goddam one of these Goddesses and makin' their levees break.
The lead guitarist.!!!!!!! WOW
She is out of this world. Unbelievable...
~
❤❤❤❤ i love her...
the drums are just crushing good on this tune... crushing good....
And a great presentation
bc she's literally crushing them. RIP drum set
Clementine is channeling Bonzo!
Bonham is still in a league sparsely filled
@Scott Murphy why don't you tell us how well you could have upstaged Mick Fleetwood on 'go you're own way' and Keith Moon on 'won"t get fooled again' while you're at it?
How could over 3 and a half thousand people dislike this? Excellent, they nail this cover, rocking it ladies! Thank you!
Simple answer !! They must be gay, they probably Justin Bieber fans or something like that
because they are little boys scared of women with talent. sucks to say it, but some guys will never admit women can be good at rock music. arseholes the lot of them. The rest of us guys appreciative these ladies skills.
No shit, right!
Because they SUCK compared to the almighty zeppelin. Why even try
Hip hop and pop is the # 1 genre
Hoping Greta rival sons ,royal blood ,the trio of sisters from Monterrey called the Warning. Change this
Holy mother that harmonica intro was fantastic
YEP
When a cover band does extraordinary justice to an old classic, my day just got better ❤
Oh my gosh! Four foxy ladies rocking our socks off! Splendid harp & vocal, and the guitarist with the bottleneck slide on the Danelectro takes my breath away. The bass player keeps it solid and I'm surprised there was anything left of the drum kit. Wow!

I just saw a vid of Anna Kristina explaining why and how she learned to play the harmonica just for this song! Talk about musicianship!
I'm very impressed!! Firstly most remakes of songs usually sounds nothing like original, I hate when people do remakes, but, you guys actually do this justice! Everything from the harmonica, vocals drums, and even the guitar work is incredible!! It almost sounds better than the original. Kudos to all of you
And its a remake of a remake from a song in the 1940's
Best cover of this particular song I’ve ever heard. Outstanding job
Relax people. This is good. Don't expect a cover band to play it note for note. If you want that, go listen to Led Zeppelin. BTW, I am a huge Zep fan.
They did great shows.

Quite awhile........
I agree with you
Drummer is the best one in the band.
Power and exquisite timing.
The singer blows a mean one though.
Harmonica!
Musically for a live performance its near flawless.
Just cant love it and them
WOW !!! I can not say enough good things about this band. You gals nailed it !!
yes they did naild it i love the drummer shes hot so are the rest of the young laidys i want to marry the drummer
THOROUGHLY enjoyed this video the countless times I have seen and heard these great Musicians.
I'm 51. I grew up with Zep. I guarantee this is the best Zep cover band on the planet.
I'm 56 a true fan of Led Zeppelin long live Rock N Roll ! \m/
have to agree with you there golyg.
Sorry. Zoso buries this. Zoso has been together for 19 years. They are THE Zep tribute.
Gary Stone vocally I would agree but the instrumental side of this song I think zepparella are far better. truer to the original version but that's just my opinion.
Gary Stone Harmonica better than ZoSo.......
Zeppelin was my favorite band back in the 80s. Zepparella doing this cover just improves this song over time. Thank you ladies.
@@raechelyndawn2580That is kinda harsh. If they weren't musicians I don't believe I would even have the chance to hear or enjoy their music. How does my liking Zeppelin and Zepparella receive this type of response? On top of all that, you don't know me well enough to judge me.
80s?,that's when they were done ,Bonham was gone, wtf
The 80$
@@raechelyndawn2580 ….Odd comment. unless you are strictly referring to intertainment industry.
Love this band and this lead singer. She's got some soul in her vocals and channels Plant's vocals nicely. Great band.
Plant is almost as fem.....lol...
@@PhysicalGraffiti97 lol. That's what makes him a great front man...but a nice pair of ti** Trump's him....
There is an interview with Anna Kristina (ahh-na) where she says she learned the mouth harp just for this song!!! My ultimate respect for Anna!!!
@@PhysicalGraffiti97 to what extent disparaging?
Indeed she does
Best cover o Zepp I've ever heard! I'm always coming back here
Best cover of this song I ever heard.
Harmonica, Drums, Bass, Vocals and Gretchen. Great slide guitar!
Fantastic!
never heard such an intense version of this song; would enjoy to experience them live everytime they let the levee break...love your passion ladies 😁
Ja.
This is the first time I've had a chance to listen to this version of one of Led Zeppelin's songs. I play harmonica and I have been trying to get the same song in playing where she started off. I've been a fan since I seen them in San Francisco.
They are phenomenal live. Hope they tour Houston again soon.
Of the singers I've seen in this band, this on'e my fave. 1st off, that harmonica! But she also channels Plant well with he voice. Easily the best cover of this song I've seen heard.
I saw these girls couple years ago.the drummer broke her drum riser twice during the show.bonham would be proud...
She sounds like Plant but way way better and sexier… Led Zeppelin should have had a woman singer for sure
Zepparella nailed a classic zeppelin song....one of my favorites... salute to you zepparella 😶🌫️
Chills up mine spine. Damn!! I love Zepplin and this band blew me away.
Thank you. Rock on!
john g COOL,I saw them in D.C ‘77’ WORLD TOUR. Awesome to say the least. These ladies are killin it!👏👏👍👍NOT BAD LOOKIN EITHER 😜
Saw Zeppelin first week of June of 77 in NY @ MSG sold out shows actually it was June 1,2,&4
Tony Paruolo AWESOME, GREAT show iam sure👏👍👍
I been listening to led zepplin since i was a toddler im 55 in 2024 and i have to say all you ladies are extremely talented and to do a Led Zepplin song is astounding in your performance i know Robert Plant and Jimmy Page would be proud❤
I have zero idea why some people think this group is supposed to BE Led Zeppelin. They're doing a cover and one fine job of it.
I will say this is the best female harmonica player i ever herd of. Wow is all a can say. I wish you girls would play in Minnesota. Thank You Zepparella.
Yes my dear friend... They are really cool!
Thanks for subscribe my Channel. I subscribe you too
Many greetings :)
Schwester Glitzerpixel
Your Welcome
+bluesharp59 It's even more impressive when you know that Anna Kristina learned the harmonica expressly to be able to perform this song.
Alex DUMORTIER
Thanks, She did great.
Alex DUMORTIER
Thanks for your information.... It's really interesting... She learned it very good
Just paying another visit to what is possibly my favorite Zep cover ever. Still gives me chills!
Hands down the best tribute band ever!
How could anybody dislike this? Talented hot ladies playing damn good Zep. Little slice of heaven.
Indeed, an excellent rendition.
As Grace Slick once said in a song... There will always be assholes... the girls are great, there is nothing to dislike here, those complaining should move along and go somewhere else.
Love it ladies ....
Hammer geil
Amen
The best cover version..I've ever..seen..,perfect Girls,Bravo....
dipo prasetio I would have to agree with u 100% "Flawless"
Those ladies are red hot.
Yup. Completely agree. And for those of you who think playing Zeppelin is easy- it ain't! Take it from a former professional singer.
umm... it was already a cover when zeppelin did it. it is a memphis minnie song
WOW the drummer makes you feel her passion. The whole band is great!!!
