Morning Report 21 Jun 24: Wall St tests highs, runs out of puff

US sharemarkets were mixed on Thursday. The S&P 500 index pulled back after reaching the crucial 5,500-point mark for the first time ever. Nvidia dipped 3.5% after it hit an all-time high as the world's most valuable company. Apple shed 2.2%. Gilead Sciences popped 8.5% following a successful late-stage trial of its HIV prevention shot. Salesforce lifted 4.3%, pushing the Dow Jones index higher.
