The fact that these guys are still rocking out more than 30+ years since this video was made speaks volumes about their iconic status in the music industry today 🔥🎸🥁🔥

@@kevinkeenan6078 … ABSOLUTELY!!! 👍😁. Longevity is KEY to success in the music business & those bands you mentioned, along with Metallica, have bucketloads of longevity, especially The Stones, who have been around since the late 60’s 🤘😜🎸

when I look at this concert at Tushino Air Field close to Moscow I get some kinda hard-on.
Metallica did this in 1991, in front of 1.600.000 people, nearly 10 yrs. after the band was founded.
    THIS IS INCREDIBALE ! ! !
This is even harder than that Woodstock thing.
First seen them live at the Loreley Festival 1984 or 85 in Germany when Cliff Burton signed my ticket
and about ½ year later he died.
Yeah, I've really seen myself as some kind of bringer of evil and I never ever asked anybody else to sign whatever.
Metallica til the end of days !
    Hail from Germany

Jamie… Anytime Metallica is on my radio or phone, that’s the signal to “GUN” the volume (crank it up 👆😜) & run the risk of getting noise complaints from my neighbours 🫵😂. These guys are rock icons & their music has well & truly surpassed “immortal” level 🤘😝🤘

I saw Metallica in 87 in Germany, Deep Purple was headlining Monsters Of Rock. Helloween, Cinderella, Ratt, Dio (Dio was disappointing, Ronnie had an attitude that he should be the headline band) Metallica and Deep Purple. Metallica and Deep Purple were both incredible! The whole day was a great party.

Super cool and good that you chose this one ❤ instead of Creeping Death or Enter Sandman, as many did; legendary concert for 1,6 million people and you're loving it too !! 🤘🤘🤘

The story of this concert was great. It's 1991, the Berlin wall fell, communism was collapsing and the Soviet Union was on the verge of collapse (It did collapse a few months after this concert). While the Soviet Union was trying to hold together the government had to negotiate with certian groups of the public to try an avoid the disaster of total anarchy, chief among them were young student groups. Among the demands of these groups was a western style rock concert (remember the music from these bands were banned, their records considered contraband, only vailable on the black market). The USSR gave in. I know atleast ACDC, Pantera, and Metallica happened to be on tour in Europe as part of the Monsters of Rock tour so they all got the call. The concert was free. Took place on the Soviet airfield. They stopped counting attendees at around 1.6 million. Over 50 people died. Helicopters flew over the crowd to spray mists of water to cool them. In videos you can see security (Police, Military, USSR's version of the National Guard) beat people at times because they frankly didn't know what a mosh pit was. While everyone flips out at the crowd size it's important to understand the context of this unique moment a time where human kind once again thought conflicts were coming to an end, and peace and freedom were within everyone's grasp.
