At 5:11, to answer your question about chemistry, Aisha and Hasan are played by 2 very famous Pakistani drama actors "Mehwish Hayat" and "Fawad Khan" and they both know each other pretty well.

    Great reaction.
I think the "what you seek is seeking you"... Kamala was seeking answers on who Aisha was in the MCU "now" and AIsha was seeking who was wearing the bangle in the future. Toddler Sana (Nani) did the stars because she was seeking her parents and her Dad was seeking her.
And with Kamala's mum finding the broken "Kamala" in Arabic necklace for me means in episode 6 she is making her Ms Marvel outfit.
    Keep up the awesome

Regarding the Djinn, I like that they brought them up because ya, any horror story I heard or read growing up in Pakistan had Djinn in it. This is the first time I have seen a group of Muslims actually be offended by a story use of Djinn.
There was also a fun campy children's show in Pakistan named "Ainak Wala Djinn" (The Spectacled Djinn). It was such a major piece of media in my childhood lol

Doctor Who did an episode on the Partition in the first season of Doc 13. (They also did an episode about segregation in the 50s.) The Marvel Universe has a *lot* of things where supernatural legend things are aliens. (I also don't think that using Jinn is any different than using Angels, which have appeared in tons of movies.) I think that's why they used Jinn. I've been thinking about the Clandestines. Here's the thing. Kamala's family are *double* exiles. They fled from Pakistan, then her parents left it to move to the US. What we needed was a comparison between the Clandestines and Kamala's family and how they respond to being exiled. Kamala's family clearly did well for themselves in Pakistan, but Kamala's grandmother nonetheless didn't know for sure who she is (unlike Kamala's cousins, who were comfortable with being Pakistani). Kamala's parents moved again and Kamala is more comfortable in the US than her parents are, who both love aspects of America and are don't like others (like scantily dressed superwomen). Kamran is more assimilated than his mother, who has, with her clan, refused to try to assimilate to her new home and wants to go home desperately. That's the theme they needed to play with - how do you deal with having to leave home and adapt to a new place? As someone who got taken to other countries and had a rough time of it repeatedly by my parents, this resonates with me. We needed to know *why* the Clandestines hated Earth so much, but also *why they were exiled* and why they thought they could go back without getting thrown out again. The problem is that we probably would have needed a dozen episodes to actually develop them enough.

8:37 In the episode that introduced us to Najma and Aisha, they Aisha or Najma said that the man who sent them on the quest to find the bangle told them that they would need two bangles. They only found one, of course. If you're watching this on Disney Plus, you could see Kamala's completed uniform on the menu screen (it's been there from the beginning) she only has one bangle, and that matches her comic look.
She wouldn't need to bangles given that her power is inside her and all the bangle did was activate her latent powers.
25:01 Aadam, Saleem, Fariha and Najma are all dead. Kamran is the last of that group. He wasn't all in on what they were doing, but he still saw them as family, and this show is big on family, so we'll have to see what they do with him in the MCU. I think it'd be weird to make him a villain now, but I don't know, maybe the last episode will impress me, should they choose to go that route.

End credits song killing it again. The song is "Tu Jhoom" which was released on Coke Studios Pakistan this year. The lyrics are on the video, it IS a beautiful song.
Kamala's grandfather is right, no one can resist fresh paratha.
There were two bangles, but so far the 2nd is still missing.
So here is my question. Would the TVA have arrested Kamala for her time traveling, back before Sylvia killed Kang? And it is only allowed to happen now because of the events in Loki?
Bruno's Nonna (Grandmother in italien) owns the store. In the comics he is raised by his grandparents, and the Khans actually help with his school fees and got Kamala to be friends with him.
The drone launched a missile and that is was what exploded.

    • @najeebhq

I don't think the TVA will be interested because the sequence of events of the timeline has not been modified

@@najeebhq but has it? We don't know because we know what the sacred timeline was like before the events in Loki for this. May be she doesn't go back and her grandmother remained lost, which means she never gets the bangle in the first place.

It just occurred to me. Even beyond the grave, Tony Stark's need to do good turned wrong. He created the drones in the 1st place as well as damage control. He gave them which after bad circumstances after bad circumstances the drones end up in damage control. Now damage control are using them in a police state like weapon against supers & God knows who else.
All of which wouldn't happen if not for Tony Stark.
I love Tony Stark don't get me wrong but he made alot mistakes & this seems like another one

It's interesting what they decided to do with Kamran in the show. In the comics he is bad from the get go, pretending to be romantically interested in Kamala and then knocking her out and kidnapping her to try to get her to join the rebel Inhumans, turning on her when she refuses. Having him be on Kamala's side against his 'family' is one of those things comic readers would not have expected.

I feel like putting the two parts of the episode together made it a little uneven, but the entire part in the past really did break my heart a bit. So well done!
Doctor Who did a partition episode, and this was better in alot of ways.

  • @sumerlawrence

I enjoyed this episode however this series is suffering from the constraints of the 6 episode season. As soon as things get really interesting the episode ends. I'm sure things were left out because they wanted to keep the episodes a certain length so plot details were cut to move things along.
They need to establish the clandestine backstory better. I still don't get why they were exiled. Maybe Kamron will explain it in the finale. The characters and their relationships to each other is so sincere and touching its what's driving the show. TBH I could watch the Khan family adventures alone.
Hopefully the finale is not to rushed but we know how Marvel does things - lol

Agree mostly with what y'all are saying. The individual beats are all really nice, not sure how it comes together. The whole "DODC as the villain" thing has irritated me since the 2nd episode really. An interesting thing I noticed though.... the effect of touching the Veil sure does look similar to terrigen mist effects eh? Probably reading too much into it, but seemed interesting. If Kamala isn't at her "full power" yet, she may still go through the inhuman rock thing? (or all in humans come from new jersey or something..... /shrug )

    • @NerdyNightly
      @NerdyNightly  2 года назад +1

I would love for it to be terrigen, but why would that kill clandestines from there? That's the question the finale needs to answer if they go that way

    • @sythguy
      @sythguy 2 года назад

@@NerdyNightly yeah.... it really doesn't answer anything about the clandestines or the whole Noor Dimension thing. and now all the people that know about it (that we know of at least) .... are dead? So I guess we aren't finding anything else out about that whole dimension thing? Very weird. Unless Ms Marvel pulls a Loki in last episode and a new person shows up w/ all the answers. THAT'D sure be a twist.

Damage control is just pretty bad at their job.
Other than that, this episode is really making this series greater and greater to me.
The story here was really full of heart, and it was fantastic from people from Marvel to show some actual world history education, and actually show it (even if it was some light Disney version of it).
And the 2 great grandparents are actually 2 of the most famous Pakistanis actors and actress today (the actress for Aisha, Mehwish Hayat is considered the most beautiful actress in Pakistan).
Now I'm a bit dreading about the finale, coz if something every Marvel Disney+ shows have shown us before, is that they all have an absolutely fantastic penultimate episode that delves deep into the character's personal psyche or history... leading to a bloated hyperventilating finale where they try to cram all the serie's worth of action in a single episode all at once (with the exception of Loki).
Now, about this 6 episodes formula, I'm gonna be a bit the devil's advocate : I feel it's been made out of financial necessity rather than actual screenwriting problem. Let's not forget that all these shows up until now, from wandavision to Ms Marvel have all been shot during the height of the pandemic, so there are a lot of stuff they couldn't shot due to lockdowns, and had to scramble in the editing room to try and get a somewhat coherent plot. Which is why pretty much all the shows suffer from some form of massive missing plotlines or rushed scenes.
Let's also remember that Disney has not only 3 Marvel movies to produce, but also 8 Marvel Disney+ series so far, each as costly as a movie, + all the Star Wars series to finance, during the years where their true breadwinner, the Disneylands and DisneyWorld, have all been shut down for almost 2 years because of the pandemic.
It was the 2 years where Disney took on the most projects ever to pay for, while it was at its lowest financially speaking.
So I can very much piece together that the 6 episodes formula (instead of 10, like Wandavision and What If ?) is the compromise about all the shows of these 2 years. Is it perfect ? No, of course, it leaves lot of plotholes. But is it better than outright cancelling entire shows ? Yes, absolutely !

By the way in the quran god addresses us as "oh human and jinn kind" just like humans jinns are also a being, they have different religions like muslim christian, genders, families etc They like to stay in dark places away from human kind. They live in a parallel universe to us. We are made of clay and water whereas jinns are made of smokeless fire which 1. Why they aren't visible to the human eye(unless they make themselves known which is against the "rules" in islam) 2. Why they can shape-shifting or possess things. What people talk about when they refer to "ghosts" or "spirits" aren't dead peoples souls, they are jinns. Hope this gave you some insight
