  • It's a pretty easy process to replace the backlighting aka light bulbs in your Pilot's AC / heat control. The process is the same for all 2003-2008 1st generation Honda Pilot's. If you wan the OEM bulb assemblies you will need 6 of the button illumination bulbs P/N 79670-S9V-A01 and 3 of the screen backlight bulbs P/N 79671-S7S-941. Alternatively you can get everything cheaper on Amazon (Paid Links) The 6 button backlights link is amzn.to/3CteSjI and the 3 screen lights are amzn.to/3vJT3bz
    Dorman 639-026 for the 6 backlight bulbs and Dorman 639-039 for the 3 screen backlight bulbs.

    Thanks for the video! I'm the cheap guy that only bought the bulb. It worked!

    Perfect! Worked like a charm on my 05. I would recommend before re-assembly--test the component first--plug the two wires in the back and turn on the lights to see if they work. Not much to take apart again but the less I fool around with those clips, the better

    Thanks for this channel. I had a 2007 CRV which was crushed while parked by a speeding drug addict...sadly. It had everything: Back-up camera, GPS, Fog lights, CD changer, etc.... I could only find a 2008 CRV (100 Miles away) which did not have any of these, but I scooped it up immediately. I toyed with the idea of putting this stuff in the 08-hence why I sub to your channel. Can't be that difficult...yes? No?

      You can do it. The 2008 would be similar to my 2005 as far as running the backup cam wiring, but the stereo opening is different. Just requires a different dash kit and wiring harness. Also the tailgate opens from the bottom and goes up like a traditional SUV so running the wiring is slightly different. But it's no harder than any other CRV.

    Nice video. Is it possible to find white lighting instead of the blue?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  Год назад +1

      The bulbs are white. It's the lenses on the HVAC that are the greenish blue color.bi believe the 06-08 is the same, except for white lighting. I can't guarantee that though

    I have a question. I’m thinking about doing this to my 2004 pilot do you know what size bulbs for the ones behind the back light?

      It's what I showed in The video if you are talking about the back light on the HVAC module

    Be careful, evidently not all Honda Pilots are the same. My 2005 Honda Pilot EX-L actually takes 6 of the 79673-S9V-A01 bulbs which are no longer available. If you need the 79670-S9V-A01 bulbs, let me know since I now have 6 I can't return.

      I have a 2006 EX-L. If you still have the 79670-S9V-A01 bulbs, I'll take them.

      Good video. Actually a fairly easy and quick job to do. Your explanation of how to remove the side panels is probably most important.
      I'm in Canada and the bulbs units are $13 each. So I ordered just the glass bulb for a few dollars and replaced the ones in the bulb units. Just wire by hand pulling fairly tight, snip off the excess with something like a nail clipper, and then with something like a tiny flat screwdriver press down the wires at corners and at the end. It'll make sense when you do your first one. Amazon has the glass bulb - part is a 7219 12V 0.06A bulb.
