Surprised to see EDM on here :o Been into EDM since middle school and man the mix and master here is pretty clean. Much better than many of the ear piercing mixes I've heard over the years >

I still use just EQ, SSL Comp, and an L2. Sometimes I'll use the Maximiser from Ozone, but if there are any more than 3 things in my chain then I feel I need to go back to the mix.

i have been really finding the maximizer more and more useful all over mixes. i use it on busses and one tool with all this built in is awesome. i use the clipper then add in the other stuff as i need but i really like the saturation. im looking forward to seeing what comes next from jst.

Awesome instrumental used to demo JST Maximizer in the first part. Any chance it’ll be released for listening?

Somehow the most difficult part is finding the right reference track, don't know why though 🤷🏻

You need 4 or 5 reference tracks that you always use. Compare different aspects of each reference to your current song. Eventually you’ll really familiar with your references and how to adjust your mixes against them.

I didn’t even know you could master a song with huge peaks coming from the drums like that! 🤔

I prefer that, I feel like the limiter/clipping helps the snare sound massive!

Do you track your clean guitars and hard Pan those aswell?

It all depends on the song composition
