I maybe stalled 50 times and now my bike doesn't start at all. But lights and other electrical system works perfectly.
Possibly flooded the engine. You can try turning the gas off and letting it sit for at least 5 minutes for some of the gas to evaporate, otherwise I usually twist the throttle fully open when starting until it fires.
Beware, if it's kick start, the lever can kick back hard, so be sure to wear proper dirt bike boots.
@@MotocrossHideout Hey thhanks for the answer, I just realized that the cable coming from starting button is open and wires exposed and I rode it during rain. Now electric system completely gone. I recharged the battery and when I pugged it it triee to give it a start although the key wasnt put in
Thank You Very Much For Sharing This 👍👍
Hey man you might know but got a new 450 and she’s slightly in gear when clutch pulled in, enoigh where I can start it and hold it back enough but I wonder why it’s sticky for being new
Congrats on your new bike! So are you saying that the bike still lurches forward when in gear with the clutch pulled in?
If you already adjusted the clutch as I showed in this video, you might want to try some different oil in the engine/transmission. I recommend a motorcycle-specific oil that's made for a "wet clutch". Some oils aren't 'slippery' enough and can cause the clutch plates to stick together, causing the clutch to drag, if that makes sense.
I gotta 2020 kx 250 and no matter which way I adjust the cable the back tire still spins when I put it into gear and neutral is hard to find while bike is on
Are you talking about when the bike is on a stand with the rear wheel in the air? If so, that's pretty common.
I'd either recommend changing oil, or perhaps checking the clutch plates to see if they're worn/warped/discolored, causing them to drag.
My trx450 is doing this, hard to find neutral. Did you end up replacing clutch? I think its time for a new one.
Most of the time that’s what it could be. But my plates where getting stuck together because I used to thick of gear oil.
Yep, that's a common problem, or if it's just too old of oil/sludgy. Thanks for sharing, James!
Man it still stalls how do I fix this?
can you help with a ktm 300 then because it is a hydraulic clutch not n cable
What's your problem and what have you tried so far?
What about a hedraolic clutch? No cable
Bleed or change fluid, make sure you have no leaks
I have a 04 crf 450 it starts normal but when i pull in the clutch and put it into first and try to take off it just stalls i have to run with it click it into first then it will go any suggestions on what i can do to fix it
Pilot jet partially clogged/dirty? Fuel screw o-ring hard and causing it to run lean? Poor clutch control?
I had figured it's because of freeplay, I changed my disks but that didn't help. Id I make the lever tight it become extremely hard to press down....
Sir i had adjust my clutch all the way possible from too loose to too tight to normal..
The problem is while full clutch pressed bike kick lever not free moving and wheel spinning with force
Hey Mahfuj, I'm trying to understand your problem...
So are you saying that the real wheel is spinning when you try to kick start it with the clutch pulled in?
@@MotocrossHideout yes, in gear it's moving, but main problem is even in neutral it's kickshaft is resisting alot moving piston with it. How can a vehicle produce compression full clutch pressed in neutral and bike off?
If the wheel is moving when you kick the starter lever down with the clutch pulled in, then there's something wrong - either the clutch isn't adjusted properly, the cable is worn, or there's an internal problem.
As for the engine having compression - the clutch does not affect that when kickstarting.
@@MotocrossHideout owner just don't want to open clutch cover( he sees it as opening engine) and left it, I also left this project. With adjustment it cannot be fixed.
Hope in future I would get some interesting problems and solve it.
when i shift down from second to go into first it just goes into neutral? any ideas. i have to really kick the shifter down hard to go into first.
Are you using the clutch when shifting? Make sure the shifter is tight on the shift shaft. Otherwise, my only other thought is that something is worn/bent in the shifting mechanism.
Why my bike is hard to neutral while the engine is running?
That's pretty typical on many bikes. You could try adjusting the cable and changing the oil if it's old or not made for a "wet clutch".
I have a 125cc dirtbike and when i shift into 1st it creeps a bit forward although i got clutch fully in.Also my clutch works way too up like it doesnt go smoothly it just stays in till it gets to end.
Is the cable properly adjusted? How old is the oil?
Have you inspected the clutch plates/basket?
@@MotocrossHideout cable is good but how do i check plates and basket and oil
The basket shouldn't have grooves where the tabs of the plates sit. The metal discs should be checked for flatness. If they're colorful (overheated), then they're probably warped and causing the problem. The river plates should be measured for thickness and meet the minimum spec according to the service manual.
All this is fairly simple if you have an OEM service manual that you can follow step by step.
@@MotocrossHideout My bike had one of the tabs of the basket snapped off sitting in the bottom end haha
Mine doesn't move when it's put in gear even when I give it gas
With the clutch pulled in? Doesn't sound like a problem to me then.
@@MotocrossHideout no clutch but i think it’s cuz my chain is too loose
What if my cable is extended all the way.
Sounds like it's stretched and needs to be replaced.
I have a 04 crf 450 it starts normal but when i pull in the clutch and put it into first and try to take off it just stalls i have to run with it click it into first then it will go any suggestions on what i can do to fix it?
I have the same exact bike with the same problem… I’m taking it apart soon to check everything but yeah, I have the idle high so when I put it in first the idle settles down because of the friction in the clutch. It’s like the clutch plate never fully separates from the pads. Best of luck
It's likely that the oil is causing them to stick because it's old of the type or the metal discs are warped if the clutch is properly adjusted.
