    Hope you enjoyed the tour of my final Provincial Park of the season!! Camper is put away until the spring. Any recommendations for parks for next year?

    In regards to recommendations it depends how far you want to drive. It’s nice to see a lot of the southern parks via your video. There are the parks north of Arrowhead, Algonquin, & Grundy. Note, Killarney is great. The group of 7 went often to paint the landscape. Just remember it’s non-electric only to keep the park in it’s rugged terrain. Marten River north of North Bay has a logging trail.

      Awesome - thanks for the recommendations. We are willing to drive and even thinking of doing a northern park week next summer to visit a few different parks up there. I have heard great things about Killarney and Marten River.

    Lots of memories of camping trips with my grandparents when I was young. I live on the west coast now and haven't been there in nearly 50 years...

    Yeaa for another park with a variety of trails 🙌 the boardwalk with trees growing over it looked so cool
    I also thought the beach trail was pretty. This park has a good mix of forest and waterfront campgrounds.

    Great video as usual. Presquile was the park my parents always went on their holidays. So we grew up going to presquile. When our kids were little presquile was also the park they grew up going to. All with tenting and pop-up. Now that we have an RV we've explored many of the beautiful parks in Ontario. And presquile is definitely one of them. Looking forward to your next adventures.

    Presquile’ s beaches are incredible for swimming in the summer. Great for little kids too as the shallow flats extend out quite a way before the lakefront begins to get deep. This also means that the shallower , warmer water is perfect for swimming. You also missed the lighthouse visitors centre and Friends of Presquile shop. I understand it was closed for the season, but it is a lovely and informative place to visit. There is info and photos on line. There is so much more to say about this wonderful park. The biking trails, canoeing with the swans in the bay and the huge day use area. I hope you return in summer to fully experience the best it has to offer. Best book very early though, it is very busy!

    • @TheAverageTourist
      @TheAverageTourist  Год назад

      I'm definitely going to go back in the summer and hope for a nice calm day by the water. Sadly since we visited in off season the lighthouse and visitors centre weren't open so we want to see that too. It's a great park so I agree, trying to book earlier this time :)

      We spend an average of 30 days here a year. There are generally waves but it's not rough to swim. You do have to walk quite a ways to get up to your waist. We were also there at the end of October (site 341) in 12 years of going to Presquile I have never seen the water so low ( and yes stinky!!).
      It's a fantastic park for dogs as they aren't allowed in the beach but there is over 6km of waterfront they can be on and you can swim from there.
      Down side is how horrible and out of date most of the Outhouses are. It's really disappointing!
      .
      I did enjoy your review in the park.
