It’s easy to let some of these songs go wash over you and at first listen they don’t hit you as solidly as others. I think this is one of them. But putting it into the long play where they run into each other this song begins to make sense. Sleep token is not just a band of “what’s” or “how’s”. They are a band primarily of “why’s”. Why does this song sound the way it does? Why is this song at this place in this album? Asking the right questions on certain songs brings a great clarity on the over arching message of the album. I think that is a pretty unique quality in a band. This song is so pretty. The little pizzicato string line behind everything is so charming it makes it seem so beautiful and lovely. Then you listen to the words of the song. This is more a story of foibles here. After Vessel’s initial outburst in Higher. Sleep tries to soothe the beast inside of him. She has to swallow the seemingly bitter pill of feigning to care for his needs in this. “Wait, won’t you wait for me? Don’t you bathe in rivers? Don’t you feel alive? And when I see you waking and it sends me shivers how you love like weapons kill.” This is Sleep taking the tolerable qualities she can find in him and making it look like love. This is sadly all that Vessel was asking for. Vessel wants the passion he is showing her returned and at face value she is doing this. “So take aim on me for once. Just take aim break me apart.” He is revelling in the attention he is so starved for. But Sleep hates this so much. It’s hilarious. In no way and no uncertain terms did Sleep ever want to debase herself to mimicking affection for a human because it’s offensive to her so we can hear her thoughts. “Won’t you call my name? Like a curse upon this world? Like a battle cry? And you make me hate myself! Make me tear my body! Make me yearn for your embrace!” She wants the violence the pain and the suffering he can embody. But she pities his weakness. She needs him and she hates him. She loves how much strength he just showed in Higher but she does not want him to have it. She might even be a little horny for it. But Vessel keeps asking her to give “you led me on when the moment was perfect” Vessel knows she can do more than give him empty words. He’s so positive. He can see what this is becoming and he still believes he is worth it to her. Sadly there is nothing in Sleep that is genuine. Neither of them understand who they are dealing with. Sleep is forever trying to secure the upper hand to keep Vessel from raging. I think she fears him a bit now. So she will try a few ways to bring him back down. Pay attention to the visualizer at the end. It’s a green FILTER on autumn leaves. The lush healthy greenery may not have been as healthy throughout the visualizer as our first impressions. The flowers are fairly sexually suggestive, blooming and blooming again. Even a tiny caterpillar eating the leaves metaphorically calling to Sleep herself feeding on the encounter as Vessel is mesmerized once again by the seemingly soft nature Sleep is showing him. Worship. Love your reactions guys.

This is a beautiful track. If I had to categorise it, it would go into "Sunday Night Lying On The Settee With Candles On" category. I've only got a couple of other bands in that category, namely Mazzy Star and Eden House. Not all of Sleep Token's tracks would fall into it either, but this one definitely does.

Five more videos till you get to the best song on the album and best song till their latest album clouds things with all of the good tracks. Bloodsport is the way. You HAVE to do a two version video when you get to it though. Everyone skips the album version with the dynamic sound of the band and just listen to the room below version. Please, please, please when you get to it, do both versions. It's worth it to hear the difference and get a base from the album to the stripped down version. Can't give Vessel all of the credit all of the time. The mix is very good on the album and the end wrecks me... The room below is also very good. But you MUST do both in one video.

One thing about reaction videos.....please just listen to the song and get a time stamp for what you wanna comment on and then revisit it AFTER the song has played. You can't just stop a Sleep Token song and start commenting on it. You ruin the vibe. And you seem to stop it at the best times...WHICH IS THE ENTIRE SONG. I'm watching the girl totally get into it and it seems like when she starts to really connect, he stops it. And then does the same thing over and over. We totally get this and it's something that we did in our earlier videos. The issue we all have with letting it play is copyright, and without stopping it, you struggle to go down the route of fair use. We 100% support the artists etc etc and understand this. Honestly, if we could we would just let it play but you could potentially risk the channel being taken down. Appreciate your comment 🙏
I disagree with OP. This is always a topic of controversy on reactions. If we wanted to hear the whole song, we can do that. We're watching you guys to get your raw, real time feelings on what you're hearing. Keep pausing and telling us how you feel, please. What you can do to maintain the "vibe" is rewind 10-15 seconds after you're done sharing your thoughts. This will give you time to settle back in and regain the momentum.
