I really appreciate these videos. I find the hangouts and OPR youtube videos quite hard to watch and a little unstructured. Thanks for passing out the information to the community in a concise and interesting way. 👍
The main reason I’m invested in OPR is I watched the batrep that Dave from MWG and Brent from Goobertown Hobbies did and the Suarian Starhost Gators just captured my imagination so much.
I wonder what the numbers would be if they release Elven Jester STLs. If you look at the factions that show the most played they are either the ones OPR has released STLs for or are the most popular/easiest to get from 40k.
I’m massively interested in physical minis boxes. I love a lot of the OPR sculpts but don’t have a resin printer (trying to use an FDM and getting there slowly). Battlebox is really interesting to me.
Funnily enough, interested in the new physical minis starter, but also trying to save up for a 3D printer, so unsure if I'll actually buy the physical models, especially as I'm a tier 2 patreon member so have lots of STL's!!
I have a friend who owns a plastic manufacturing business here in the UK and talked me through the manufacturing of plastic miniatures like GW. The moulds for injection moulding cost at least £10k a frame and the actual machines cost much more. This is a considerable investment for a business. There are other options but for small scale manufacturing 3D printing is by far the cheapest option. I could see OPR partnering with someone like Wargames Atlantic if physical minis become popular enough.
I wonder if the people who get in a ton of games are people playing solo. My favorite part about OPR is that I can manage matches against myself because the AoS community in my town is pretty sparse.
I moved from Blood Angel's (2nd ed army) to Guard in OPR when GW killed off 1st born. It felt like time for a change. Been playing OPR for a couple of years now. The Emperor may protect, but the dice work for Tzeench!
I love GW minis but it was cheaper for me to buy a 3d printer and kit then to keep buying GW stuffs!!! And I love the 3d printing hobby! Now if I can just get people here in northern MN to try OPR!
Regiments is probably as low because there’s options. Kings of War for a simpler game, TOW for GW Official Setting (which isn’t an awful game for what you’d be looking for), and T9A for the edgy non-GW option.

Greetings from Puerto Rico to everyone!.

Yeah, even metal casting is vastly cheaper than injection moulded plastics.
@ Cyanocast is supposed to be a good middle ground, but the machinery is still expensive. Costly if you’re unsure of demand.

It has to be.
I believe most games are played at home so solo or 1-2 others.

Maybe HDF is receiving hype as well due to the big Guard release by GW?
