- In this video the team and I tackle 1000 sheep in one big mob!!
We’re still Sheep Shearing in Northumberland and making good progress!!
I forgot to put my tally in here but i did 336 this day. Not a big day but the sheep were hard to shear with a lot not having much rise. This hill we were shearing on was pretty bare a month ago with the mini drought we had so ewes had a bit of a check but it’s lush now!!

ABOUT ME
I’m 30 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland. That’s why I have such a strong accent!! I was born and raised in sheep with my dad being a shepherd on an Ayrshire farm.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep.
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then, in 2015, my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could keep my hand in. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 600 ewes.
I shear over 10,000 sheep a season in UK and I also travel to Norway for shearing in March and September.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep scanner and have been building up my run since then so I have a good income stream in summer and winter.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

@@TheSheepGame I think have worked my way through most of your vids now. I really enjoy watching them. It's just little things like the way your voice changes when you speak to Meg to the banter you have with the other farmers and shearers that I enjoy. The banter reminds me of when I was young spending summers clipping sheep. I am from the West Coast Highlands near Skye and everyone would help each other and we just moved from one lot to the next for weeks until they were all done. Most of those sheep men are gone now but my sister still has a couple of hundred cheviots and blackies she dosnt make any money out it and has a day job like yourself but its in her DNA. 🐑🐑🐑

Hi I live in New Zealand, I drive stock trucks for a living I use a kelpie x Smithfield bitch for loading and unloading she backs sheep all the time real handy for loading cattle as well nothing gets past her will send you a video at some stage so you can see how we do it down here, keep up the good work it's nice to hear my Scottish accent again

Thanks mate. It was a great opportunity to get some footage. A good dog is very expensive there have been some sold recently for over £18,000

Whats with the ear plugs??
Quite like plugging the ear closest to the machine. Saves me listening to it all day. Although it is a new heiniger they all make noise... i tried two ear plugs but all i can hear is my heavy breathing then 😂

Those are the bags they give ylu for organic wool

The Sheep Game developed in NZ the Huntaway, something with plenty of noise for clearing the big steep faces when mustering, great dogs , I love them, they have a bit of Labrador in them, as you can see by the heads usually,
