    ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.

I was once told by a social worker that she wasn't worried by noisy children with the normal bumps and bruises that come with being active and learning about the world. She was far more concerned by the perfectly dressed children, the silent and stationary ones who didn't seem to know how to play.

    • @tardismole

You had a better social worker than we did. We had an impressive bunch of sadistic holier-then-thou doozies who were rude, belittling and abusive. And all because I asked for help after I had a stroke. Piece of advice: don't bother asking for help. You'll get thirteen years of strangers telling you that you're a bad parent for falling ill and becoming disabled.

Boys are rough and tumble especially on a farm. We learn, good or bad, by doing. Hopefully he learned that is something he shouldn’t play with. ANY parent that says they don’t make mistakes and their kids don’t get hurt is LYING. You guys do an amazing job at balancing family, farm and RUclips! Keep it up.

That’s brilliant, what Lizzie has done with her sweatshirt !!! I’ll v be e willing to bet there are breast feeding moms who would buy that item. I remember a couple of breastfeeding moms ( who were also handling their dogs) at one of our outdoor dog shows a few years ago who would benefited from this idea.

I was watching another farmer (don't worry, you're still my favorite!) and they were having a massive problem with flies too. Apparently coconut oil is a great repellent for such creatures. She rubbed it on one side of the cow and there were no flies, and the other side was covered. I know that wouldn't likely work for so many sheep, but it would be safe to use on yourself and the children. Just thought I'd pass it on.😊

At a few years old while I was asleep my kid managed to unlock the door, get out of the house, into the backyard, climbed a 6 foot brick wall and wandered all the way down to the freeway before getting picked up by the police. Also, brought a strange dog into the house, in elementary school picked up some guys parrot and brought it home and thought that the garden shears were for daddy's hair. My second kid kept getting out of the house, but didn't scale the wall and for the life of us we couldn't figure out how they did it until we asked them to show us. They had taken a broomstick and maneuvered the chain free and turned the deadbolt with the handle. Yeah... Kids. A bundle of nightmare fuel LOLOLOL.

You are both fabulous, hardworking parents. You don't coddle your children, and you both show by example the work required in today's agricultural field. "FED by FARMERS." As a child, I came home with rusty nails in my feet, played teeter toddler on a wooden wagon, lost and scaped most of my face. My parents didn't think twice about it. My husband always said, "If it is not bleeding, it doesn't hurt." A little harsh, but it works not to think about sprangs or broken toes. Love your vlogs.

Her sister was 2 and had trip and fallen and hit her head on the edge of the door, she had a huge black and blue goose egg on her forehead. All I could think is someone is going to see these 2 out for a walk with us and call children's services. I can look back on it now and laugh, that was about 30 years ago.

I happened to look around( we were sorting sheep at the time) and saw his legs sticking up out of the water. Fished him out by the ankles and drained the water out of his lungs. Hello Cammy, a great video. You and Lizzy are fantastic parents to your children. The boys are coming on so well, you can see the differences on them every video Jocks speech and Angus with his walking. little accidents happen on farms, and it is not a reflection on your parenting skills at all it is also about learning for the children, once they do something they wont do it again. . Your children are having the best childhood i think a hell of a lot of us watch with great admiration, especially Lizzy how she manages the home, children and farm is just incredible when you are away working. There are not many who work as hard as you both do, thats why we need to supportfarmers in all aspects of farming. Im alwas in admiration of farming women who just crack on with the day no matter what is thrown at them. Little Bonnie is just adorable, im sure Jock and Angus will be great protective brothers once she starts moving around. Lizzy's addition to her FED top is fantastic im sure alot of women who are breast feeding would buy it if you made them available. Sorry for the comment as long as an essay 😂.

When I was a wee tot, Ive put a nail through my foot, had stitches twice, almost broke my wrist, and many other things. Kids will get hurt exploring their world, it is apart of growing up. You guys are amazing parents. ❤

there were 7 of us kids growing up on the farm, parent don't have eyes in the back of there heads - just imagine 7 little kids doing what your two mobile kids are doing right now - shoes on when our mothers insisted but normally if our feet were cold we would find a fresh cow pat to stand in - chasing sheep down the main road with the 2 fathers beer foot - I was Angus's age when I lost my big toe nail, my mother was feeding my little brother, I was opening draws in the bathroom and dropped one on my toe

Cammy, sweet pup. Might consider Cartophen and medacam.
Really helped balance ours out. When they work hard, they really break down.
Always great to see the kids and Lizzie.

Damn, your kid is far braver as a toddler than mine is as a 7-year-old, haha. He's always been a bit of a weenie when it comes to cuts and boo-boo's. We had to use a bit of topical lidocaine when he'd get his shots for a while, too. We've been trying to harden him a bit because he's an extremely rambunctious kid, but your kid is a trooper for sure.

The benefits of growing up on a farm like Jock and Angus far outweigh the risks from things like 2x4s and sharp bits of metal. We all need to get a few bangs and scrapes when we're young, it's how we learn. I love the way that Jock took that 'jag' in his stride and made no fuss. You're both doing a great job, I'm quite envious. I wish I could have done such a good job with my kids, but I didn't have your patience.

Better they get their bumps and bruises now while little and largely supervised and learn from them. Oh, the trouble my brother and I got into on the farm when we were older and played in the barn/hayloft unsupervised. Or in the giant piles of snow from plowing the lane (we did get admonished to not make tunnels anymore). Or when the windbreak got flooded and we went swimming for hours in the muddy water. Got the wind knocked out of me 4 times, falling out of a tree (solved by building a treehouse there), two from being thrown from our pony (he didn't last long on the farm), and once by our ram who had been a 'pet lamb', we called them 'orphan lambs' as we bought them that way from the sale barn....Mom kept a group of brown Suffolk crosses one year meaning to have a flock, but that ram put her off, they all went to the sale barn that fall and we returned to getting orphans for the spring/summer and selling in the fall. My brother was the target of our tom turkey one year, he could hardly go outside without being attacked. Obviously, do what you can to anticipate ways they'll get hurt, but for the most part kids are pretty hardy, and soon enough they'll be helping each other (or tattling!)
