  • Here's everything you need to know about the 2024 Toyota BZ4x which is similar to the Subaru Solterra. I personally recommend the XLE trim over the Limited. See my 2024 Lucid Air Video: • 2024 Lucid Air.. The B...

Toyota states it is fine to always charge to 100%, since there is a buffer for longevity. Dashboard value of 100% is actually only 95% of the battery, which you can confirm with an ODB-II reader.

The bZ4X is heavily criticized in the U.S., but is popular in Europe.
Especially in Scandinavian countries, there are block heaters in homes and most public parking lots have block heater stands (poles).
These are basically standard socket plugs in public (as in open to the public, not necessarily publicly-owned) parking where you can plug your car engine in to pre-heat the engine and avoid issues with starting up in the cold.

You can sell an electric horse to people of these countries. They are irrational. Government is footing the bill.

On Toyota site it says $169 a month with 2k down for 36 months lease, but dealership site says $4k down and $350 a month

With regard to cold weather, mention of the infrared-heater was missed. This feature (that other automakers don't offer) radiants warmth directly to your legs. It's an innovative way of adding heat in an efficient manner. The bigger news though for cold is the 2024 update that replaces the existing battery-heater with one that is much more powerful, which will greatly improve DC charging speed.

10 years battery warranty or 160 thousands miles not 8 years

If you want to be particular 150k miles but yes battery is warranties that long the EV components which are also insanely expensive is for 8 years 100k miles either way dump it before that so you don’t have to see how bad things get when these things aren’t covered

"Free" Electrify charging is a joke. You can only get a charger sometimes if you're in a City area like Los Angeles because almost every manufacturer offers it in this area, so you're competing with others unless you charge out of your home... EvGo is awesome. We charge up to 100%. We have the heating package with the XLE, and AWD is a nice price point and doesn't sacrifice the range with the limited. The speakers are still very nice in the XLE. We got a 10,500 incentive from the dealer with good credit (over 780)... Lease. The equity and value hold up on Toyota's. It's not 1st generation (2023); it's 2nd generation (2024). Is that correct? Also, in 3 years, most EVs will have a longer range across the board with a lease (trade-in). With the range changing so fast, buying an EV right now may not be such a great idea. You can still get equity with a Toyota. I'd definitely recommend buying the $100/warranty add-on and paying upfront. Wish that Toyota added gap insurance like other dealers, they don't. So act like you will buy it, then don't, and then the finance person may offer a deal... Like ours did.

I saw on another video that these cars get really bad range when it is cold and especially when the heat is on. I hear Tesla has the best rhermal management system out of all of the current EVs, but I am not sure if this is the most accurate information as of 2024 or if it's outdated.
I got a kick out of the charging the cell phone to 80%. I wish i had the discipline to keep my charge between 20% and 80%. I like to charge to 100% and be good most of the day 😂.
Similarly I tend to drive to empty and fill gas all the way full. Not the greatest for the fuel pump but I can't be bothered to get gas when it's on half, but maybe I should.

Funny you mention this, it was on an MKBHD video where he was talking about his Tesla loosing 20-30% range in the cold where I even got that figure.
If Tesla is the so called best at thermal management these EVs are in trouble 😅

This is a toy car. I am very sad to buy this car because its only problem is charging. First of all it takes long time to charge if 50% charged with level 3 it will take 2 hours 30 minutes. Then you have to keep the car at full stop which you have to suffer in extreme cold, heat. After that if you start the car and turn on the heat and AC then you can run the car for one hundred miles. So don't waste your time and money buying this car. Thank you😅😂😢 I thing this should be put in a museum... 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👩‍👧‍👧
