Hi, CPS Worker here. Due to HIPPA we are not allowed to disclose the reporter. Our jobs are not to take children, it's to assure safety and provide services. If we see that the claim was false it is noted in the individual's history. Our response depends on the severity of the case. If the report stated physical abuse, CPS will request police assistance sometimes. Unfortunate that it happened late at night, but Cardi isn't going to get anywhere suing THE STATE. CPS was responding to a report. We have to make contact with the Child of Concern within 10-72hrs depending on the severity. CPS was doing their due diligence.
As a someone who works in pediatrics, it depends on the allegations that are reported. According this the anonymous report stated claims of physical abuse, cps has to come out to the home immediately to investigate to make sure the children are in danger. Yes they will go to the schools and talk with the school administrators but they are required by law to make contact with children as soon as possible when reports of physical abuse are reported. Yes false reports get filed all the time which is a federal crime but working in the child protection area, I have seen cases where anonymous reports actually save the child / children lives. Just because the person is a celebrity doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of such behavior. I have worked with politicians, doctors, lawyers etc who have had cps involved due to various abuse. If the report filed against cardi is false then it’s unfortunate someone would waste tax payers dollars and involved services that are there to protect children and they should be held responsible. But I do not blame cps for doing their job!.
While I understand that she’s upset about Child Protective Services being called over false reports from a weirdo. It’s important to remember that CPS was just doing their job. No one needs to be angry with them for taking action. If a child is genuinely in danger, we would all want CPS to step in immediately, not waiting for them to contact a child's teacher. It’s about ensuring safety of the child first, which is exactly what they did.
Exactly. I would be more concerned if someone said this and CPS ignores it. The number 1 priority is the kids' safety, therefore the child is secured first and then they do more investigations with neighbors, schools etc.

CPS reports are not anonymous. You are required to give identifying information when making reports. The CPS worker can and will disclose the identity to the family being accused.
My son's first grade teacher reported me cause my son was bragging saying he cooked his own meals. They came randomly and asked me about what he fixes, it was pop tarts and toaster strudels. They walked through my home and spoke to him and the case was closed. They did their jobs and I was parenting properly so I wasn't pissed about it.
That is very wild that someone would do that. But she can’t sue CPS for doing their job. All be it a complete over kill there are plenty of Laws that protect them so long as nothing was done inappropriately. People like myself who have worked at the capacity of license mental health practitioners and elementary school educators have undergone specific training to look for warning signs of abuse and telltale language that could be used to cover up and help the abuser continue their acts.

But, Cardi doesn't realize that subjecting yourself to witnessing abuse rather verbal, mental, intimate or physical is a crime and can get cps involved as under CPS law you have duty to protect your children and subjecting them to dysfunction is a crime. As well as truancy is considered by CPS as educational neglect, not providing medical services to children is considered Medical neglect. People need to understand these laws and stop playing games. I grew up with 2 uncles in law enforcement, he made sure I knew my rights under the law.

You can't sue CPS for doing their job. Child neglect and abuse is a serious matter and every report is taken and handled the same way not matter if the live in a gated community or not. Just because people have money doesnt mean that they are not abusive or neglectful. I have seen so many times that just because of a person's status people will not report knowing that child is being neglected or abused. As far as the comment about talking to the teacher maybe later on in the investigation but not first. The first point of contact the child and the nonoffending parent/caretaker.

I have also saved many children from abusive neglectful homes that appeared to be loving. Until you have seen the amount and levels of abuse and neglect I’ve seen you can miss me with your little jokes

That's not true at all. People like myself who have worked at the capacity of license mental health practitioners and elementary school educators have undergone specific training to look for warning signs of abuse and telltale language that could be used to cover up and help the abuser continue their acts.

Stop projecting please. Your situation is not the same as Cardi. There are many reasons to hate the CPS but Cardi's situation is not a reason to. They got a call ,acted on it and investigated which is good. Many times kids die even after abuse has been reported to CPS or children being taken when they shouldn't. That is what you should be mad about and advocating for action.
I don't know what was said in the phone call. But, Cardi doesn't realize that subjecting yourself to witnessing abuse rather verbal, mental, intimate or physical is a crime and can get cps involved as under CPS law you have duty to protect your children and subjecting them to dysfunction is a crime. As well as truancy is considered by CPS as educational neglect, not providing medical services to children is considered Medical neglect. People need to understand these laws and stop playing games. I grew up with 2 uncles in law enforcement, he made sure I knew my rights under the law.
