Truck looks good. The Maxtrac spindles are great. I also installed them on my '18 Colorado LT Redline Edition extra cab RWD. Coupled with a 2in. rear block, Readylift upper control arms and sway bar drop brackets. Also have the Eibach 2.0 front coilovers and rear shocks. The stock Redline 18in wheels have 265/70-18 Toyo AT3 tires with a 1.25in BORA wheel adapter/spacer.

Your vent visors are meant to give you the option of outside ventilation without getting wet if it's raining, or if you're looking to keep the wind down. They're great if you smoke lol (I don't), but I do like leaving the windows cracked for my dog, assuming it's not hot out.
Nice build and looks awesome. I just got my first truck 2023 Z71 and was looking into this type of build. Was thinking 4in lift but think I'm going with a 6in instead.
I drive a 2019 chevy colorado LT 2WD. Also yes not a lot if content for the Rado community. Good to see more Rado enthusiasts. Keep up with the content.

I was thinking a 2inch level on mine as well. I heard the suspension is a little rough with that is that true? And my buddy just recommended those same size wheel and tires for mine.
Might have to go with this tire size (285/70/17) but I’ll be going with a 4in lift.
@@jesse_d I think if I remember correctly with a 6" lift on the Z71 you have to trim a fair bit of the front bumper. The ZR2 style bumper is open so no trimming required

the big Z71 Offroad badge comes with the midnight editions... my midnight edition colorado had the z71 offroad badging from the factory... not blacked out tho... and no badging on the side of bed... I was actually at the dealer for a used silverado... but the blacked out midnight colorado just grabbed my attention

I have the 2022 Z71 4x4 same color, ( I love the color). I also took off the door chrome "COLORADO" and replaced it with the "Z71" GM Plate, same in channels, same fender flares, same black bowties. lol Truck looks great. I am thinking of taking off the tailgate "COLORADO". I also added the Black Tailgate letting.

Thanks for the view and the comment! I’m not running wheel spacers . Poke is coming from the offset (1) of the new wheels and the wider tire. I had the spacers on for a total of one minute before I decided it was way too excessive.
I didn't know you could get the Z71 trim in 2WD. I have a 2017 Z71 4x4 but here in Winnipeg with our winters the 4x4 is nice to have. I'm wanting to go ahead with a 4" lift, just need to find the time to do it. Nice clean look on your truck though!
Yes much to my surprise I found a RWD Z71 ! had to travel about a hundred miles to find one in stock but it was well worth the short trek. Haha yea here in so cal even the truck itself is a bit excessive. I say go for it !

Very nice truck.. I love it.. I almost went with a 2wd but here in Florida and things we do there's alot of sand so the 4x4 helps.. I just picked up a 2021 Colorado 4x4 not a z71 but I still like it

On the “steel metallic”
The grill is all stock. The z71 comes with a black Chevy logo, BUT you can totally paint it or they sell vinyl covers I believe.

Thanks ! Tbh I didn’t notice a huge difference in handling. The footprint also remains relatively the same. I did the work little by little and didn’t notice any major driving differences. I live in the city so I don’t get on the freeway much but when I do I can still get 20+ miles per gallon if I’m not driving like an asshole haha. If you are switching out your tires for something with more aggressive tread you will notice a little bit of road noise but nothing a good song can’t tune out .

@@albertpas5564 i have the eibach pro truck kit stage 2 lifted 4,5 and has better handling in my opinion then stock due to the sronger spring rate i reccomend you get c load tires and not e it will make the ride terrible

Looks great! Are those 265/70/17s a 31, 32, or 33 inch tire? The wheels looked big and bold but I can't tell if it's from the rims liking out!
Yes 265 70 17 just about 32 with the aggressive tread!
Thank you Jesse! Do you remember the offset on your rims? They have a perfect poke out of the wheel well without too many crazy rock chips getting impeded into the paint.

How did you get the stickers off? I'm not a fan either. I've thought about swapping my grill out and changing the chrome badges to black. Your truck looks great.
Used my girlfriends hair dryer for the emblems and the bedside sticker just peels right off little bit of rubbing alcohol to get off the excess sticky stuff.
Love the truck. I wish I could trade my ‘16 for a ‘21. I have the ‘16 Z71 4x4. 3.6L. I’m thinking of changing my grill to the ‘21 grill. Of course I have added other mods. Auxbeam controller for my ditch lights, chase lights, light bar. I’m ordering a roof rack next month. I have a tonneau cover, LED cab lights and led license plate bulbs. Dash cam. I took off my fender flares and plan on ordering Air Design Super Bolt fender flares. I want to put a leveling kit. Etc etc.

Would your method of lifting the truck (the maxtrac thing) work with a 4WD model? Also would 34 in tires fit (I think that corresponds to a 295/70/r17)
33‘s fit no problem I don’t see an issue with 34s as long as you’re not running any wheel spacers. Unfortunately no spindle lifts Will not work on a four-wheel-drive :( you have several more lift options though!

I see you have a pretty high lift, do you think a 2 inch level would be able to fit 265/70/17 tires?
I think you would need a tad bit more of a lift to accommodate an aggressive tire tread… if the tires are more all season/ low profile you might get away with it.
Got a 21 GMC Canyon and did a 2inch level. How does the 6inch do with casual driving power down the highway??

Hey just curious what is your gas mileage for city and highway with your set up? I have a 2 inch leveling kit on my 2019 Colorado and noticed mine dramatically went down.
My average is 14 but That’s mostly city… my best is 23 on the highway. Cheers !

Dude thank you! Inflation may have added to the price of these things but id say my largest expenses were obviously the wheels tires and lift about 3k (lifting a 2wd much cheaper than 4wd) and another $300-500 in installation & alignment. Rhino Liner $450 bed cover was like $200 Side rails $250 and then the little touches of customization $50 bucks here and there. I spaced everything out over a year. (i put links to everything in the description)
If i could go back and change one thing I would recommend a 4 inch lift not 6. other than that go wild !

Hi, @Jesse Almanza. I like several of the mods you’ve made. Thanks for sharing. I just purchased a used 2019 Colorado Z71 4WD. I am really pleased with the ride of my truck, but have already made a few mods to make my truck more user friendly for me, including installation of: i) engine skid plate, ii) truck bed cap, and iii) upgraded off-road tires. I want to remove the air dam, but that’s a bear of a project on the 2019. I also agree 100% that the chrome Colorado emblem looks better black. I don’t understand how to remove the emblem, though. Is it stuck on with adhesive or clipped into the door? How did you remove them without damaging/scratching the paint? TIA for your response.
Removing the letters were a lot easier than expected first I framed it off with painters tape so that I could get the exact same angle when putting on the new ones. I used a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive on the lettering (you can use a heat gun if ya got one) and a plastic pry tool to pop them off. I used a paint friendly mineral spirits to remove the gunk left behind. Replacing the lettering was as easy as peeling off the back and lining it up with the painters tape I had set down before removing the chrome ones
I have seen people straight up cut off the air dam leaving about an inch or two behind still gives you the clearance and the look you’re going for without having to hassle underneath the vehicle recommend that if you plan on throwing it away anyways and have a steady hand!

I have a 2019 as well and all I did was use a sawzall and cut all the pins right off

If I could go back and change it I would only lift it 4 inches (unless you’re planning on getting 33s you might need the 6 inch!)

Nope ! She came brand new off the lot with just a paint job. bedliner was necessary.

Thanks! Actually no wheel spacers don’t need em there’s actually plenty of poke from the new wheels and tires. Turning is no problem.

With this set up, none at all, if you introduced a wheel with a different offset or had spacers on I can potentially see some rubbing happen

I don’t ! I had them on when I was running the stocks but this new setup didn’t feel like I needed them. 2 inch spacers borderline had some rub on the new fuel tires
I have a 2021 Z71 as well. Stock 165/65/17. The wheel wells stick out half an inch further than the wheels. Thought about spacers. However your 165/70/17’s look perfect. Or, is it your rims?

I will say, though, when I was running wheel spacers on the stocks, it looks pretty legit!
As far as which wheel/ tire combo to go is entirely up to you, I think it the poke has less to do with the tire size and more with the offset of the wheel you choose !

Trucks are not “investments”. Trucks are liabilities. Even if it’s fully paid off it costs you money to own and operate and doesn’t bring money in. There is no situation where a truck or car is an asset (investment).
