Brilliant! Just noticed a few days ago mine was getting loose. I found this video while perusing your channel and tried it out. Bam 💥 worked perfectly! Thank you so much for sharing this. New subscriber.
Neat. Factory reset is holding some combination of buttons and turning on the radio. This should fix your transmit problem. Let me look it up really quick Edit: Factory reset should be holding PTT, the small black button below PTT, and the blue VFR button on the front of the radio, then turning the radio on. Hope this helps.
@@phil2082 Fair point. Glam Ham Radio posted a video showing that holding PTT, and 5 while turning on puts the Baofeng back into amateur mode with restricted freqs.
I’ve tried a factory reset using the menu and nothing happened . Also made sure vhf and uhf were ticked in chirp after the factory reset and nothing I’ll give your suggestion a try tonight . If that doesn’t work I may need to flash the firmware ?
I will sleep better tonight now I know about this 😂😂😂

This is what started my whole Ham journey, and wow what a journey. Now I'm a Extra, a VE and use CW as my primary mode. 73 de AI5DD

Thanks for the heads up. I had a loose nut and it worked.
I would have never found this! Nice work!
fair play, just tried it myself and what a mad little trick !
My life is now complete
😅
Why would you buy a UV5R when you can get a Quansheng for less than half the price
I’ve had the uv5r for ages now a good few years also have a quansheng radio which has modded firmware on it to tx on ssb
His UV5R battery wont fit a Quanshang.
You must have acid fingers cos I've never had buttons wear off on any of my radios 😂
It happens a lot to me my ft2de the yaesu sign is wearing away I can still see yaesu but the silver paint is coming off
good find 👍
Nice. But what are the odds of this video coming out *after* many others come out saying they just found this secret 😂
It is *entirely* coincidental
😮
Super tip.
Glad you liked it

It's the VFO/MR button not A/B. Also that's how to unlock the radio. That's different from the reset found in the menu.
@@CoffeaAribca Right, and if the PTT isn't working, I'd assume the one in the menu has been tried already
