I enjoyed his Flip Wilson’s show when I was a little kid. He made every age laugh. If I’m honest, his comedy could have been like Loony Toons, funny for all with extra humor for adults. I’d like to see one of those episodes again.

My family never missed it! My parents loved comedy and had lots of LPs of the best, like Flip, Phyllis Diller, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby (hey, he was really funny back in the 60s).

I loved me some Flip Wilson! in 1969 I bought the album The Devil Made Me Buy This Dress & memorized the whole thing. Reverend Leroy of the church of what's happening now. when you went to Leroy's place he didn't talk about what happened in the past or the future. when you went to Leroy's place you heard what's happening NOW.

Flip Wilson starred in the second vignette in the very first episode of Love American Style in 1969. It was a terrific segment, very well-written and -acted, took place in a specifically African-American context, and everyone in the large cast was African-American. When I watch it today, I'm reminded of two things: what a great performer Flip Wilson was (his role here is understated, more light-drama than knee-slapping comedy, and he nails it), and how sure it seemed in the 70s that racial division was finally being torn down and America would be a nation of neighbors going forward.

Flip had excellent delivery , inflection and timing to make a clean joke hilarious. His observational embellishments like the guy selling the 25 cent sandwich for a buck fifty added hilarity to the scene he was describing . You could imagine it all happening in detail .

One of my fondest memories is watching the Flip Wilson show on Thursday nights on CBS with my parents and sisters. My absolute favorite was Geraldine.
“What you see is what you get!”
He was a comedic genius and a trail blazer. There would be no Chris Rock, Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy if it were not for Flip. So many people of a younger generation have no idea who this historic figure is. Pity.

I remember watching the Flip Wilson show. He influenced a generation with "The Devil Made Me Do It" to "Here Comes the Judge " and Geraldine! Best part it was good clean comedy. Thanks Flip for the good times!

Here Come the Judge was Sammy Davis Jr on Laugh-In. I didn't know Flip did it also.
The court's in session. The court's in session. Now here comes the judge. Here comes the judge.
Sammy would flip the sleeves of the judge's robe.
Laugh-In was also classic TV. It could be raunchy but overall it was fun. We loved hearing Goldie Hawn's giggle. She'd get started and couldn't stop!
