PETER: Come on, Ace. You can’t send me to the hoosegow, the big house, the graybar saloon, the stir. JOE: And take his thesaurus. PETER: What? I need that. It’s important. Just, you know, very, very, very, very important.
Peter is an idiot because when the cardinal was murdered Peter pick up the knife. He shouldn't of done that because the cops saw him with the knife and through that he killed the cardinal. Why did Joe think that Peter {who a detective and therefore not a murderer} killed the cardinal? It was obvious that the cardinal was innocent and he was a red herring because in detective shows it is almost never the red herring because that would be to easy for the viewer. Especially in a parody of the detective show genre which this is because in a spoof like this the writers make use of the detective tropes and put them on their head so that they will trick the viewer.
I love that the second they took his thesaurus he wasn't able to find synonyms anymore. 😅🤣
he was absorbing the synonyms through osmosis

Man i don't even know what a synonym is 😭
