    What a simple add on with no major tools required to make it work. Excellent.

    could you add the gear ratio's that you used in this experiment, together with information about power use and max speed? that would be awesome :)

    You have a very unique way of achieving things like the chain tensioner(s).
    I'll try you out.
    Good job, bro!
    Thumbs up

    Enjoyed the adaptation of the chainsaw hack. To be honest many of these electric tool battery packs would benefit any electric bike on the market. 40v for any of the 36v bikes or the 56v with the 48v. Although the 60v packs would need an upgraded controller but I do believe they sell speed controllers that will do both 48v and 60v same with the 36v/48v . Thanks for sharing

      I was planning on going with the 80v version but my friend was talking about torque. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any place that shows the torque even the store that sells it. They cover volts watts milliamps amp hours ohms but nothing about torque.

      Thanks! Yes that was a 3-D pen I’ve finally come over to the Darkside. No more welding for me. Thanks for the pen recommendation

    actually watched for ideas for a young female relative to ride to school because there's age limits on gas power stuff but electric is ok so it's a kiddy application really , a few school children ride epower bikes, scooters ,thanks

      What's maximum milage on one fully charged battery? Like full throttle, and part time pedaling? Tnx.

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  Год назад

      I can get around 15 minutes fully on the motor so you can extend it as much as you want to pedal

      Not sure about distance but a charge last about 10 to15 minutes depending upon how it’s driven

    I was thinking this same idea but if possible I'd like to add a solar panel to charge it. But I bet it'd take a solar panel the size of a school bus and charging in the sun for 6 months to be able to charge that 4o volt chainsaw to run the bike for just 20 minutes

    What is its top speed ?

  • @sumobear1777
    @sumobear1777 2 года назад

    I'm planning on doing this but I want to put a big gear where the chainsaw gear is and just put the chain on the small gear but I'm not sure if it will have the torque to keep me at speed once I petal to it.

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  2 года назад

      This chainsaw has an automatic cut out when it encounters too much resistance. The roughly 20 to 1 ratio I had seem to be the sweet spot for takeoff and acceleration but not great for top end. You could go lower with the gear ratio which will give you a higher TopSpeed but the chainsaw might cut out at low speeds so you would definitely have to always pedal first. Good luck!

    Do you think a 20 volt chainsaw would still work?

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  2 года назад

      The 20v will be very underpowered but it can still be done. You may have to adjust the gear ratios to make up for lack of torque. Good luck with the build!

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  3 года назад

    I want to build a chainsaw bike with a gas chainsaw but ive never done anything like that. Is it hard?

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  4 года назад

      It can be a bit tricky but with a little ingenuity and motivation I’m sure you can do it. Lucky for you I have multiple chainsaw bike videos that might help guide you. Good luck

    • @jjames9758
      @jjames9758 4 года назад

      Would it work if I ran the chain directly to the gears already on the bike? I noticed you usually add a sprocket on the opposite side.

    • @JGD16
      @JGD16  4 года назад

      The problem with that is your gear ratio. It would create a low gear ratio and burn out your chainsaw clutch. You will need a large sprocket on the wheel or a jack shaft in between.
