I found resilience in the positivity, calmness, and kindness that I cultivated over a lifetime. I probably wouldn't have made it if I had been angry, negative, and sad.
What I have learned from her: Healthy resilience involves: 1. Setting clear goals and having a vision. 2. Engaging in self-reflection and self-awareness. 3. Practicing strategic intentionality in thoughts and actions. 4. Surrounding oneself with a supportive community. 5. Giving oneself permission to fail and learn from it. Victoria emphasizes that resilience can be taught and developed. She encourages others to: Acknowledge and claim their traumas Forgive themselves Apply the steps of healthy resilience Help others who are dealing with trauma The overall message is about moving from survival to thriving, and from being an "Iron Maiden" (tough and closed off) to a "Turtle" (tough exterior but soft interior).
I agree with everything you say about resilience. I've seen it in my life. I can give a similar speech. I believe challenges are stepping stones to growth.
Absolutely incredible talk by Victoria Pelletier. Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion shines through, and her advice on developing resilience is profound. This is exactly the kind of inspiration we need!
No wonder you've done wonderful things. And iron maiden, not a bad nickname in my book, as long as it doesn't mean you'd defund the train service in England 😂 Well done Victoria, successful business executive.
How many times on Tedx have we had the subject of resilience??!! These talks are pointless. Victoria Pelletier, all you are doing is copying other speakers. Be original and cover something different! REPETITIVE!
I read your comment yesterday and kept thinking about you. Right now Brene Brown shared a phrase and thought again about you: "I don't need to put myself in the line because my job is just to make fun of you". Then she says "at the end of my life I want to know I contributed more than I criticized" - The point here is Victoria Pelletier had the courage to share her painful story, and how she could learn from it and try to inspire others for growth. That's admirable, even though the topic might have been explored by many others. I hope you will bring courage and light to others as well.
@@bkk9869 Well, it does not change the fact that there's far too many of these types of talks! If Tedx did not upload so many then we could appreciate the better speakers. This Tedx channel now is just daft. They (Ted panel) have ruined it.
