There is a 3 hour tribute to Rusty with all his old band mates sitting around a radio station talking about Rusty. It's here on RUclips and every Poco fan should watch.
Rusty dying the other day was a real emotional gut punch to me, as I have virtually every Poco album from '69 to '89. Now, seeing this interview, and seeing him as pleasant as I'd remembered him, it stings just that much more. Still glad to see it, though. Love to you Rusty, you'll be sorely missed.
I was a Poco super fan. There music filled a void. What great players and song writers. I still where Poco shirts. They made the Eagles who they are. Without them no Eagles.
Yeah Rusty 1979 was a really great year, I was 20 years old. Nothing can go wrong when you’re 20. Your song was always great and now you’re gone 😭R.I.P. brother
Multitalented. I really miss Phil Hartman. RIP. Oh yeah ... LOVE Poco! 'Crazy Love' is such a beautiful song. As a lifelong musician it is absolutely one of my wife's favorites for me to play. It's pretty much tied with Neil Young's, 'Harvest Moon'. Both are very well received when we perform them live.
I remember meeting you oh, and your wife Mary and you are some of the kindest most loving people I've ever met! And the harmonies that night were absolutely perfect with Paul Cotton and that was when George came back before he had a stroke but you couldn't have been kinder! And every time I do a solo show I play it and whatever is happening wherever I am, everybody stops to sing... GOD BLESS YOU RUSTY 🙏🏼💕🛐💯💖
Such a great song from the playlist of my youth!! Woke up with it in my head this morning for no reason and had to hear it and then of course... the rabbit hole.
Takes me back in the day along with the eagles and Marshall tucker and etc , the good Ole days and music! Hey after all us and generation set the bar , here's to the baby boomers, peace, love and blessings to you all
Just getting my Poco Lp's out again. Legend , a friend gave me that album 1979 or 80. with "Crazy Love". I love the blue and gray album. Some pretty music on there, even though some of it is haunting. I'm in my 60's now, and am still digging Poco as much if not more than back in the olden days, LOL. Interesting video Rusty.
Like so many other posts, these guys were/are great, and were before their time. Though the Eagles may have gotten more of the attention it's clearly because of what these guys started. Rusty may be gone, but what Poco created will not be lost in the history books of great music!
One more thing. I think everybody does have a CRAZY LOVE! I have one and EVERY SINGLE TIME I play that song I have to keep myself from crying because at this date it's been 27 years since I've seen her but she is was and will always be the love of my life...!!! 🛐🙏🏼💕💯💖 SOMETIMES IT MAKES ME WONDER WHAT YOU WERE THINKING? WAS IT A DICHOTOMY? AT THIS POINT IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER DOES IT? Just another GREAT SONG! 🤔🙏🏼💖
Gosh, I had no idea. Rusty Young, Buddy Emmons, Buddy Cage, are the gold standard. I played Good Feeling to Know at 10 on the accordion. Deliverin’ - is there a better live country rock record than that? That was a SUPER group. The best pedal steel player ever.
yes, I remember... my new girlfriend back then turned me onto I think the album was 'Crazy Eyes'.. im not sure.. but crazy love was on it. And we had a crazy love.. never made any sense. but we had a son before you know it.. hes 38 now.. we divorced in 85... still love this song.. thanks for the memories.. I wish we still had the decades network in Everett, Washington
They played this song on “Spiderhead”, a very weird sci-fi psychological thriller on a disarming eccentric villain’s playlist. I never heard that song, before. Wow! That was great! I could imagine Steve Gutenberg playing him in a biopic the ‘80s. Shame they didn’t. I bet he could get the voice down, too.
They were trailblazers in that genre but for reasons unknown they just didn't have the massive appeal of the Eagles. Maybe their songs weren't strong enough. But the Eagles moved from it's Country-Rock leanings and became a rock band. Gosh if their was a secret formula to make it happen more bands would copy each other.
I heard a rumor I don't know if it's true or not but supposedly Poco never played crazy eyes live I wonder if Rusty reads these posts and can answer the question or anybody else for that matter
Rest in peace, Rusty. What a cool and talented guy you were.
Still alive
My bad I just went back and seen he died just 2 weeks ago. I live near Steelville I’ve seen him and talked to him several times. Sad news
@@stephenlaffoon6680 - No, he passed away on April 14, 2021.
I didn't know he had died. We are lucky to have been gifted with his talent while he was on earth. 💔
@stephenlaffoon6680 nope he s dead but his music lives on

"A song everybody knows." Does such a thing even exist anymore? What a good time that was for music. Thank you, Rusty. Rest in peace.
I was a Poco super fan. There music filled a void. What great players and song writers. I still where Poco shirts. They made the Eagles who they are. Without them no Eagles.
It seems like it was just yesterday when Crazy Love was on the radio. One of my favorites. RIP Rusty,
Yep, was the summer I got married. Seems like just yesterday.
It was *our* yesterday. These kids need some real music like this. A true love ballad.
This song has been in my brain ever since it was released and it's unforgettable and perfect.
Rusty, what can you say. Great singer, writer and the best pedal steal player ever.
One of my favorite, not only poco songs, but favorite songs of all time. Rest In Peace, Rusty.
Yeah Rusty 1979 was a really great year, I was 20 years old. Nothing can go wrong when you’re 20. Your song was always great and now you’re gone 😭R.I.P. brother
LOVED Rusty! In all honesty, he was everything Richie Furray thought he was.
The cover art for Poco's album Legend was created by the late Phil Hartman. He was a graphic art student in college.
And his brother John was Poco's manager
He also did Steely Dan’s “Aja” cover.
Love the running horse logo. It is very special.
Phil Hartman did America's album cover also, and was so talented as well in comedy !
r.i.p. rusty young. a historically crucial founder of country rock. virtuoso.
Thank you for all the great music, Rusty! Rest In Peace
I love performing your song, Rusty! The audience always sings along, and it crosses generations. Thank you!!
Thank you for keeping the memory alive for us "oldsters" and introducing a younger audience to a classic beautiful song.
A shame that "Rose of Cimarron" also written by Rusty never got the credit commercially it deserved.
crazy love is my favorite hit song
I dont know how this posted 3 years ago and missed it, never seen this clip. Great post, I love POCO! Great band.👍👍

your post reminds me of Dan Folgelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne" - like with "crazy love" it always reminds me of that one girl from the past.
This song has some of the most beautiful harmonizing ever!
Nope they had others but wimp boys only remember the over commercialized top 40 garbage
"Crazy Love" is my favorite Poco song. Thank you, Rusty.❤️
You never heard the good stuff
Wow this is a great find

He seems so nice and genuine like friend Randy Meisner . RIP Rusty in heaven 🙏.
RIP Rusty i love this song everytime it's on the radio
I bought a grey tee shirt at a Poco concert back in 79 which had that album cover on it. I wore that thing until it was threadbare and full of holes.
Thanks Rusty, and Poco for creating the Southern Cali sound....rest. In peace..
never forget hearing "fool's gold" for the first time
Epic song. Good man
This is one of my top favorite songs of all times from the 70s
RIP Rusty and Paul Cotton . Poco officially over now . We have their music to remind us of how good they were .

Linda Ronstadh is the Host of this video?
I might add I seen Rusty and Poco three times in the 70s and they never played Crazy Eyes
It didn't come out until '79...
Crazy eyes? Or crazy love? One from 73 , one from 78.
I heard a rumor I don't know if it's true or not but supposedly Poco never played crazy eyes live I wonder if Rusty reads these posts and can answer the question or anybody else for that matter
Your a jinx, he died. 4-14-21
This looks like a live performance to me...:
