  • Ensure that your equipment is set up and connected correctly using the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Slowly open the oxygen cylinder valve until the full cylinder pressure is indicated on the high pressure regulator gauge. Then, continue to open the cylinder valve all the way to the stop. The high pressure gauge should read the cylinder pressure. The delivery gauge should read zero. Repeat this step for acetylene.
Turn the oxygen pressure adjusting knob clockwise to set the delivery pressure required. The required pressure will depend on the type of equipment that is used. Repeat this for acetylene.
There are two ways to check for leaks in your system. The more common is to apply a leak testing solution to all connections. A leak is detected when air bubbles appear at the connection. If this happens, re-tighten the connection and check again.
The alternate method for checking leaks is to setup the equipment as in point 2. Close the cylinder valve and note the readings of both the inlet and delivery pressure gauges. After 5-10 minutes, if there is a drop in the reading of either gauge it will indicate a leak in the system.
