@@FlamingMercury5 Battle network and Star Force's weakness cycle is more efficient. Fire beats wood, wood beats electricity and electricity beats water. There's a second cycle of the following: Sword beats air, Air beats cursor/sniper, sniper beats break.
Another reason Spring Man is weak to Slash Claw is because springs are usually made from thin wires wound into a spiral, and just as Elec Man is weak to Rolling Cutter, wires used to make springs are weak to sharp objects like pliers. This can be seen in Spring Man's damage animation from Slash Cutter, where fragments of his springs can be seen falling off his body.
You could take this logic in a completely different direction given that springs are mainly tension based and Slash Claw being the obvious. It essentially becomes a literal phrase of "Cut the tension with a knife"
Pharaoh Man's weakness to Flash Stopper is more likely because you aren't allowed to take pictures inside of the pyramids. The flashes of cameras can destroy the ancient architecture and paintings. Though getting flashbanged in the dark is also a pretty good reasoning. EDIT: turns out the video was right all along! Good to know :D
@@NurseValentineSG It even shows up in the Archie comics, where Pharaoh Man pops up a few times and it's occasionally shown that he doesn't react well to bright light.
I use to think that Guts Man's weakness to Time Man was because it freezes him intime for the block to fall on his head. But thinking about it now that block would most likely break and not do anything to Guts Man
I'm an old person, and it brings me joy that a young person such as yourself genuinely enjoys these old games. I'm happy that there's a young generation out there that can recognize that the supposed simplicity of these old games is really cosmetic only, and they are genuinely deep, challenging and fun!
I was born in '97 and one of the earliest memories I have is playing Mega Man the Wily Wars, and MM is still one of my favourite game franchises. Still baffled at Capcom's treatment of the franchise, too, I'm genuinely worried about the future of Mega Man.
@@marcellosilva9286 Given that MM11 became the best seller in the series’ entire history, you’d really think they’d be anxious to do another. And yet…..
@@RappingNinja What really gets me is the fact that Mega Man games aren't expensive to produce, so even if the game flops somehow, you won't lose that much money! But they don't even TRY in the first place! It's bonkers!
Oh my gosh! Egoraptor? I'm starstruck! 🤩 I watched Game Grumps all the time when I was a teen. In fact, I believe I was watching your MM2 playthrough while working on this vid. I had no idea that one of the Grumps would comment on my very video!
I'm gonna try and give lore reasons for some weakness: Shade Man: Vampires are weak to silver in mythology, and Wild Coils might be made of silver or atleast some variant of it. Quick Man: Flash Stopper freezing him so suddenly messes up his internal systems from whiplash. Wind Man: Pilots need focus to fly planes, so a sudden flash can disrupt them. Spring Man: Springs can be damaged by certain blades. Cloud Man: Explosions cause clouds to disperse. Astro Man: Heat seeking weapons can counter flying targets. Plug Man: Diamonds are insulators.
I like to imagine that Quick Man's acceleration and movement systems generate a lot of heat and his fast movement helps disperse the heat, so if his engine is revving (so to speak) but he's stuck in place, his internals begin to overheat and damage his body.
I'll bring out my own interpretation here. According to manuals, Wind Man was originally designed to assist in harvests in China, Kentauros Man represents a War Horse, which during the war, would trample the fields to make it impossible to grown anything for a few years in case the territory was lost.
I was under the impression that pharaoh man’s weakness to flash stopper was because harsh light can degrade artifacts over time. It’s why you’re not allowed to photograph certain things in museums with your flash on. Also for sword man, if you cool metal too rapidly it can make it brittle and susceptible to breaking. Splashing cold water on a flaming sword might have that effect.
Heh, I remember there was a small crisis in Egypt a decade or two ago that was basically: the pyramids are getting fucked from the inside because of bad breath. No, seriously. Googling now, it seems it was either debunked, or not as big a factor as industrial pollution and just 'erosion' by physical contact, but if I remember right, the gist of it was that bad breath includes hydrogen sulphide-- plus humidity from breath and sweat, and the fact that the inside of the Pyramids are literally enclosed tombs = acid rain.
Fun fact: In 2017, Swiss wristwatch company IWC Schaffhausen developed a material named Ceratanium, and has trademarked the term. It is described as a material that combines "The lightness and robustness of titanium combined with a hardness and scratch-resistance similar to ceramic", much like its fictional counterpart.
Wow, I was super shocked to hear you say this is only your first video. You clearly have a knack for video-editing and high production values! And this topic is like something I'd come up with, not just cuz I'm also a big fan of the original Mega Man series (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a fan of only one specific Mega Man series, either), but just the general type of topic is right up my alley as well. Can't wait to see what other games/series and topics you tackle, and I hope you get a ton of subscribers. 😁
A very lore-based piece of logic actually applies to the thumbnail. Shadow Man is weak to Top Spin, not only because it knocks him off balance, but because Top Man was specifically built to deal with the likes of Shadow Man. Shadow Man was mentioned to be made of some kind of extraterrestrial alloy, implying that he wasn't built on Earth. Meanwhile, Top Man was one of the robots sent to mine out the Energy Resources needed to construct Gamma, meaning that Top Man's Top Spin might have been built to break through unknown materials due to the high-speed spin. Almost like a drill! In other words, Top Man's weapon, one used by a robot meant to search for resources alien planets, would logistically be very useful against the Robot Master made of alien material.
Pretty good video! There were definitely some reasonings here I hadn’t considered before. For Gemini Man, I think an alternative reason for his weakness could be that the Search Snakes “search out” the true Gemini Man. And for Pharaoh Man, sarcophaguses are fragile artifacts and in museums, they tell you “no flash photography”.
Nah, no fake fan being seen. I’ve only played the Battle Network series and merely attempted the Zero series, but DAMN do I like me some Megaman. I really need to get into the rest though.
X4 was my first mega man game and honestly it's a great place to start, X1 too but if you like Battle Network definitely try Starforce and Legends, the Zero games are a bit harder to get into (alongside the classics imo) but ZX is perfect in that regard
There's the Collections series for Classic and X on multiple platforms coughoremulatecoughcough, ahem Depends if you wanna play for lore/story (as much as it is), or for gameplay. Gamplay, depends more on _what_ you wanna play. Old-skool action-platformer? Classic, X, Z, ZX. Linear RPG? EXE, Starforce (and in X: Command Mission). Action-shooter? Legends. Lore/story? Go down the main timeline: Classic, X, Z, ZX, Legends. EXE goes into Starforce, but is an entirely separate timeline, where Dr Light went more into inventing the Internet than physical robotics. If you just wanna play 'the best ones' --- the FF7s, the Ocarina of Times, and the Symphony of the Nights of the franchise, hmmmmmmmmmmmm... personal opinions (tho I'm sure you'll find other lists more thoroughly debated elsewhere) Classic: 2, 7. X: 1, 5, _Command Mission_ I didn't play Z, ZX, or Starforce. Legends 1 and 2 are goats. EXE: I only played 1 and 4 (Blue Moon), of which _Network Transmission_ is better because I don't like that letter chip system, let alone Pokemon-ing it with version exclusives, and you can play that one 95% like Classic.
Part of Drill Man's combat routine is drilling underground where he can't be seen until he's already coming up from underneath you. So the Dive Missile, a tracking weapon that could perhaps chase him down in the tunnels he leaves behind him makes sense.
Wonderful video! Mega Man was my first game series I got into, but I never put too much thought into the weaknesses way back then lol. Love this video idea!
Wood Man interestingly has _three_ weaknesses; Metal Blade because buzzsaws cut through wood, Atomic Fire because flames burn wood, and Air Shooter because wind blows away leaves. The Air Shooter can hit him while his shield is up. Mega Man 3 has many bosses with two weaknesses. Magnet Man is weak to both Spark Shock and Shadow Blade.
@@bravewater5737 Some of it is documented on wikis, and I'm not sure if there's any they missed from simply not trying as many weapons on as many Robot Masters. There's also a commonly circulated myth that Snake Man is weak to Shadow Blade, but he isn't. I think he's weak to Spark Shock, but in the Game Boy game and not the NES game? I know I see memes about Spark Shocking Snake Man from time to time. Air Shooter I'm not sure if the number calculation counts it officially as a weakness, I just know it shreds him with A LOT of damage - more than plenty - and bypasses his shield. Ignoring an enemy's invulnerability phase is arguably more of a weakness than just doing high damage like the other two.
@@RoninCatholicI imagine is some other media or spin off game Like power battle (he is in the first one, I think it was cut man weapon) or the Archie comics (fun fact, there bubble man is weak to lead shield, even tho in game he is immune to it)
With Spark Man, it’s also to note that Shadow Blade represents shadows, and shadows are the opposite of light (which is a spark of light). With Charge Man, I see him weak to Power Stone due to putting stones where the coal is supposed to be in the train which is not coal, putting the coal out. With Tomahawk Man, I think it’s because tomahawks aren’t as good as cutting down plants rather than a hatchet. With Burner Man, I think the reason why pushing Burner Man to the spikes is effective is because that Burner Man uses aerosol gas to make flames, and you shouldn’t pierce aerosols or they’ll explode. That’s how I see some weaknesses if those make sense
I never considered that tomahawks aren't as good at cutting down trees as other axes, nor did I consider that Burner Man's gas tanks would puncture with the spikes! You're clever.
Personally my thought process with Tomahawk Man was that his stage is barren, whereas Plant Man's stage is lush. I sorta think of it like "Grass beats Ground because of the roots". You can also interpret it in an environmental way-- Plant Man's barrier blocks projectiles, and Silver Tomahawk is thrown. Symbolically, it sorta says "nature will take it back long after you're gone". In fan games (notably Mega Man Maker), Plant Barrier heals the user when shot, at the cost of some weapon ammo. This also ties into the same themes of a nurturing mother earth claiming victory against mankind's desolate warfare (although of course deserts are valid natural habitats too). I'm reading way too deep into it, but I always enjoy thinking of this kind of thing. I've learned a lot in this video and comment section.
This is your first video? Man, the algorithm lottery struck pretty hard here! This is one of the finer explanation videos I've seen yet, some of these weakness explanations were from sources I've never considered before, like napalm being neutralized by crystalline substances. Some additional thoughts/elaborations: Seeing people try to explain Shadow Man's weakness to Top Spin is always amusing to follow, but an old fansite, Sinister Six, gave me one of the more plausible explanations: Shadow Man's fighting style in his debut revolves around acting on his name and being Mega Man's =shadow=, mimicking how he jumps and slides. Any Mega Man player can tell you how vulnerable Mega Man is in the air; thus, an attack capitalizing on that vulnerability, like an anti-air body contact attack like the Top Spin (or the Power Fighters' Centaur Arrow pulling anti-air), would be an effective option. The "Ice is weak to Electric" is explainable by how colder temperatures increase electric conductivity. Dive Man likes to charge at the player, so a shield weapon like the Skull Barrier would be a nasty wake-up call to him expecting to make contact damage, not to mention said shield weapon would nullify the threat of his Dive Missiles. Dust Crusher is also effective with its spread shot property as well as alluding to trash in the ocean. His appearance in Power Fighters also highlights his vulnerability to electricity. Gravity Man's strategy also relies on him crashing his body against his opponent, so the same reason above regarding a shield weapon. The Crystal Eye's secondary effect of splitting into smaller projectiles that fly all around upon bouncing against a wall may also function as a sort of cluster bomb, disorienting Napalm Man from focusing on his target and neutralizing his missiles and Napalm Bomb. Silver Tomahawk is also an anti-air weapon that arcs upwards; effective against an opponent who tends to jump high into the air alot, not unlike Crash Man's weakness to Air Shooter. Burst Man is a chemist above all else, seen with all the flasks adorning the backgrounds of his level. Desired chemical reactions require specific conditions, including temperature. That's why where he's more commonly referred to being weak against Scorch Wheel, he's also vulnerable against Freeze Cracker in the early game. Funnily enough, Slash Man shares these two weaknesses for similar reasons of temperature sensitivity. Astro Man's abundantly clear that he wants any and all hostile elements to be kept as far away from him as possible, whether by listening to his whining or just seeing how hard he is to reach most of the time. Therefore, weapons that can easily reach him, like the tracking Homing Sniper, or the vertically shooting Magic Card, are most effective. Burner Man's vulnerability to Ice Wall is less on the elemental side of things and more on how it's a counter to his fighting pattern. The dude dashes and jumps all around the arena, threatening the player with raining hellfire or using his flamethrowers to push them into the spike pits surrounding the arena. Deploying the Ice Wall itself doesn't do anything to him; it'll just sit there, leaving it a sitting duck for Burner Man to just easily melt away at it. Ice Wall being his weakness is more of a puzzle, turning Burner Man's own fighting style and arena against him by taking this erratic combatant and pinning him down by shoving the Ice Wall into him, restricting his mobility and pushing him off the arena's sides down into his own spike pits which do the real damage. But yeah, you just got yourself a new subscriber!
This reminds me of TheRetroDude that came our with a banger first video out of nowhere that happened to be a Mega Man video. I was obsessed with Mega Man months ago, and I really enjoyed the games. I played the first two games ages ago, but playing 3 onwards to X4 was so much fun. After not playing as many games for a few months, I'm now on a DKC kick lol, so it would be cool to see other games be analyzed. I like the idea of exploring less explored ideas in games, movies or whatever other set of media there is. I think that Mega Man is a great series to do it with considering how much depth these games have and there's just so much to discuss. For example, Mega Man 1, 2, 4, and 5 have the different jump physics than 3, 9 and 10. I hope to see you continue to make videos as you did a great job with this one. All while looking great!
It should be noted that most games after the first Mega Man had Robot Master design contests held for fans. With so many non correlated robots game to game, the developers had to get creative with the weakness loops. It must've been fun lol! Very good video.
First video and it's already a certified hood classic. Also, I really love your editing style, with how you try to include yourself in your explanations. Especially the one where you were spinning around lol. Very fun. All in all, great work. Really looking forward to your future content.
So, some fun fun details: Needle Man is weak to the Gemini Laser because it's a piercing weapon and Needle Man has a phobia of syringes Water wouldn't work putting out a star, they would just add to its mass. The sun is not made out of fire. Spring Man gets *stronger* if hit by electricity, because that's how we create electromagnetism. It ups his speed instead. Same with Turbo Man, it boots his car batteries. Astro Man is weak to the Homing Sniper because he has social anxiety and loves to hide, and this weapon always finds him. Burner Man is only weak to Ice Wall if it pushes him onto spikes. The actual Wall deals minimum damage to him.
Ah, yes: Wily told Burner Man that he's got a Dr Gero-style bomb inside of him, and that he has to burn a forest a day to not have it go off (an oddly dick move for him to do to one of his own robots). And as for the weakness: the ice wall pushes him into the spikes, which rupture his fuel tanks.
But Stars are nuclear energy balls right? Water can cool off reactivity and make it less of a nuclear thing thus less of a star too....maybe? Does that work? I mean they use cool water on nuclear reactors but on stars?
Dive Man also canonically gets seasick a lot, so I always assumed that seeing skulls just made him even more uneasy, to the point of starting to break.
Tanks can't NORMALLY drive over water, but there ARE amphibious tanks that have been used by the military in various operations. The Duplex Drive Tank (also known as the Swimming Sherman) was used on D-Day in World War II.
I'm an old person, and it brings me joy that a young person such as yourself genuinely enjoys these old games. For your first video, you did a fantastic job and the editing is very well done, love the little jokes you threw in too, you have great potential to becoming a rising star in content creation! My history with Megaman dates to the 2000s I played the Anniversary Collection on Gamecube and X Collection too. And from there the rest is history. And for fun my weaknesses or dislikes like the robot masters would be Brightness from Light Themes (Bright Man), Loud Sounds from outside (Shade Man) and Bugs (Hornet Man).
A cool thing the megamix comics did was explain Ice mans weakness to elecman being a byproduct of his small compact size being a result of having to have extremely thin wires to be effective in such cold areas which makes them less insulated from electric shocks. They have a fun with Quick man aswell where both him and Flash man use the same system of manipulating light in some weird way relative to themselves (quickman) and in relation to everyone esle (flashman). So when Flashman freezes quickman it causes some positive feedback loop with how his time manipulating sytem functions effectively overloading it and damaging his internal sytems. Also great video did not expect this to be your first.
I always think its funny when people use good reasoning for certain interactions, whereas my brain just goes to "it's a bomb. If course he is weak to a bomb. Most things are weak to high explosives." It's like talking about pokemon types and one is just a gun.
Oh, I'm well aware of that. I've seen PeaTea64's Mega Man videos. It's just that the Search Snake weakness was decided before they decided he would be afraid of snakes in his MM&B CD data, so yeah.
Gold is a dense material, but it is very soft as far as metals go. That would make it easy to compact. I'd say being dense makes it harder to lift with a vacuum.
I was gonna say the same thing, gold is malleable, so I don't think difficulty compacting it would be the issue. I think the reason would be that the ring would clog the vaccuum on his back.
I came in expecting a cheap attempt at profiting off of Croby's video on the same topic, which he released a day before you, but watching it I was left impressed. You bring some points he did not cover in his video, that I too didn't account for in my additional notes comment, so props to you for actually adding onto the subject. The vibe and style of the video is also very nice. I'll throw in my two cents here for what you expressed confusion over: - Tomahawk Man, as a native American-inspired robot, would be close with nature, so harming it would go against his beliefs. Alternatively, we could trace it back to sicknesses the natives struggled with, which were caused by some plants. Plant Man's inspiration from rafflesia flowers, also known as stinking corpse lilies, would further back that up. - Wind Man is likely inspired by Fujin, a wind deity in Japanese and Chinese folklore, who's rivals with Raijin, a deity of lightning, thunder and storms. As an intense flash of light, Centaur Flash could represent Raijin's lignting strikes. - Spring Man is made of springs. Slash Claw cuts through stuff. Exposed springs are easy to cut through in this scenario. I strongly believe combining your video with Croby's and my comment on it would create the ultimate guide to Robot Master weakness logic. I doubt more can be pulled out of it at this rate. I think you should reach out to him for a shared continuation on the topic, you could complement each other's knowledge quite well (plus I'd try to get more involved, Croby was almost disappointed I didn't speak with him on the topic after seeing how many notes I made after the video came out lmao). Overall, good job! You deserve a medal, even if the timing felt fishy.
Oh, I had this idea WAY before Croby did, and I was a bit peeved off when I went on RUclips and saw someone had posted a video just like the one I was working on. It was a particularly poorly-timed coincidence.
@@FlamingMercury5 I mean, in the end it is largely to your benefit. Depite Croby's established audience, you already beat him in view count and likes, on which I'd like to congratulate you. He even admited himself to your better presentation and all, despite him covering more details. You still did an excellent job, especially for the very start of your journey as a content creator. I wish you the best
@@FlamingMercury5 I had the same idea way back in last August. Due to college being in the way, I slowly stopped with the progress until the end of December when I decided to do a comeback of sorts with the same video idea. I would also be a little irritated if someone published what I had in mind before I took any action. But, just like Kornor said, I do admire your better presentation on the subject and you covering bits here and there that I did not mention myself in mine, and your channel seems to be on the bright side, and I congratulate you with your efforts on this!
Subbed, liked the video. I couldn't tell you how excited I was to see your video pop into my recommended! You're gonna be a good channel to keep an eye on. Any chance of mega man x or legends content?
Mega Man 7 does have one big circle of weaknesses, but it can also be broken down into two. Both Burst Man and Slash Man are weak to both Freeze Cracker and Scorch Wheel. So you can loop around one set of 4 robots, or branch off into the other set.
Some of them are stretches, but the video is fun to watch...! This was a video I wanted to make, but couldn't find reasoning for some of them, so I'm glad someone got to make it, instead. Keep it up!
Not really a fan of comments, but this video is lovely and really entertaining to watch. As someone that absolute have a blast with the series, and still need to play other games than just watch and study about, this one is one of my favorites. Amazing job and Video!
Kind of weird that the stars would align and the YT algorithm would show me a new channel with potential. This video was really good, hope to see more stuff from you.
For a first ever video, this is insanely well done! The editing is solid, the explanations are all clear and quick, and the visuals are all helpful. I have a couple, minor criticisms however that I'd like to share so you can improve your later videos. Firstly, it could probably help you to not look away from the camera and down at the script so much, but I'm well aware how difficult that can be. Secondly, a joke about knowing something "from firsthand experience" is typically funnier when it's something strange or specific. Calling upon real life experience for very basic knowledge like resetting clocks after a power outage or being flashbanged in the dark isn't generally going to garner much of a reaction. Lastly, repetition of the same point when that point is not inherently necessary to the understanding of the main concept can often make its mention feel forced. Pointing out that the weakness logic also applies in Pokemon one time as a fun tidbit is one thing, but given that the fact of "This also works in Pokemon" doesn't really do anything to help understand the logic being explained, repeating it more than once, regardless of how applicable it is, will cause its mention to feel somewhat jarring and even annoying if you aren't careful. Those are really the only notes I have though, everything else about this is incredibly solid work, especially for a first video, and I'm excited to see how your content can improve! Also, barely related, but fun fact, in a manga adaptation of Mega Man 6, the weakness logic for Centaur Man being weak to Knight Crush was that Centaur Man was actually a woman and her and Knight Man were dating, so she was weak to it because Mega Man was literally beating her with the weapon of her dead boyfriend, which. Is definitely and interesting approach to that one.
Dang this is your first video? Well you’re already doing awesome. I’ve never even cared for thinking about Mega Man weaknesses yet here I am. Watching this whole video.
7:11 - I think that Crash Bomber functions as Quick Man's secondary weakness more because not even he can outrun an explosion, 8:43 - It's more that "Search Snake" can see through illusions and weak points (which is why it's Copy Mega Man's weakness, as well as Dr. Wily's secondary weakness) 10:46 - I think it's more because Bright Man's head is based on an old school incandescent bulb which generates light but also a lot of heat. Spraying cold water on a light bulb when it's turned on can cause it to shatter due to the rapid change in temperature.
This is damn neat. Excellent start grabbing in a high populous, gamers. I would suggest looking into the mavericks' weaknesses from the X series, as they get pretty damn funny. Hope to see more of you around.👍
17:04 In Canada, there's these salts that they put on roads in order to melt snow and ice and let vehicles have traction. They're sorta brown or gray and dusty and I could buy that they look like the Junk Shield.
12:40 I always thought Napalm Man was weak to the Crystal Eye due to it clogging up his top cannon-hole, but your explanation makes a TON more sense, lol Subbed!
I was getting into Mega Man this past week and wasn't surprised this got in my recommended but holy hell I didn't realize this was the first video, it's really well done
Wow, you really knocked it out of the park for your first video! Great job hun! Also, one natural curl to another, look into the Curly Girl method it's amazing!!
i like how she straight up opens like there's lore about the other microphone and it's a great loss that it broke, but this is her first video. like, legit, i love that she just dives right in! no long preamble, just "let's pretend i've been doing this for years" and it works!
Hope you don't mind if I add my own thoughts too? I always took the Iceman weak to thunder beam because of how electricity moves better in the cold. Even if ice itself is a worse conductor than water, the electricity is moving through the cold air. And superconductors, the ones created to have the least loss of energy, function the best in colder environments. So basically Iceman shortcircuits much easier than the others. On the same vein, I believe ice slasher can freeze fireman's flames - as in, the stage flames, not just the boss himself - so I personally believe Megaman is freezing the fuel he uses - and just like ice is a worse conductor than water, the frozen fuel would not be as flamable. But if you take this to its logic conclusion in Megaman Zero, it would take it as them overcompensating on the other way around, as in there Thunder is WEAK to Ice, and now Ice is the one weak to Fire. And Fire is weak to Thunder, to complete the cycle. ...I prefer Bob&George's explanation for Tomahawkman's weakness: he is just very, VERY alergic to flowers. And the megaman manga for Centaurman, who had a thing with Knightman so it adds EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. Windman may also just take damage from having his lighter and more fragile fans stuck in place while trying to force them to move I always believed Springman was because... well, springs are thin curly wires, easy to cut While I also use the same logic of Iceman to Coldman, while Fireman's may be related to Burnerman the later's weakness is more that he can't get out of the way of the sliding ice pillars and is pushed into the spikes at the sides of the battlefield, so... maybe they puncture his fuel canisters? And yeah, same for Tundraman as Iceman and Coldman, and the same for Torchman as Fireman.
Plant man is also based on a tropical plant which Winter weather is terrible on. Yamoto spear is also a Spear and historically Spears and bashing were used to bypass plate armor. Tornado Hold also tangles up Clown Man's arms. Improper Rapid cooling can damage a metal which Swords are traditionally made of. Tengu Man being weak to spread drill may be a referance to the folk story "Tengu and the Woodcutter". Laser Trident pierces things.
Good video. But a little tip, after you say something on camera, after leave yourself a few seconds, cause your eyes automatically dart to the script. Its not bad, just looks kinda awkward.
Great job! Fun stuff, good content, writing is good, great delivery, and I liked the pics and vids you put on screen to supplement what you're saying. One thing, I sure did know where you kept your script lol, but getting more comfortable with not having to read during takes is something you'll get better at over time! Also one of the first things I said was lol woah your little MegaMan avatar looks just like you, and the little animation of it transforming was excellent. Great first video, keep it up!
That bit with Dust Man caught me so off guard. Imagining him freak out about someone tossing a ring in the dumpster is making me laugh more than I should. This was a fun watch! It makes me want to pick up the field guide after all this time.
Awesome video, especially for a first on the channel. I would've probably made a few and uploaded them at the same time though, so people have more reason to stay on your page. But you'll do well for sure with this quality content.
8:21 Something you missed about the weaknesses of the MM3 Robot Masters is their secret weakness towards... their own weapon. Which also can be explained in a very rough way. Magnet vs Magnet: Magnets are strongly attracted towards metals which is why Hard Man is weak to Magnet Missile because Hard Man is a giant block of metal. You know what else attracts magnets? Other magnets. Twice as attractive honestly. Snake vs Snake: Snakes have been known to be cannibalistic. Shadow vs Shadow: Ninjas are crafty individuals who you need to understand better to actually survive them. Get into their mind. Become the ninja. Gemini vs Gemini: You know how in Minecraft, overcrowding mobs leads to serious damage or insta-death? Kind of what happens here. Also, the Gemini Laser perfectly hits an enemy that splits itself and keeps jumping around the screen. Needle vs. Needle: Do you see what object in real life perfectly resembles Needleman? A pincushion. Spark vs Spark: Overloading electrical equipment with much more electricity than is required makes the circuitry explode. Hard vs Hard: It's like with the Omnidroid from the Incredibles. The only thing that can destroy something invincible is itself. And Hard Man kind of resembles an Omnidroid if you squint hard enough. Top vs. Top: I placed this for last because this is my most favorite and easiest explanation ever. Beyblades.
Hit the ground running, I respect the verve - Subscribed, and Please Keep Up The Great Work! (: P.S. Will the rant about Capcom's treatment of Mega Man be a separate video? I'd be willing to hear out what you have to say
Very good first video. One thing I did notice is flashing down and to the right a lot, seemingly at the script. I think that could mostly be edited around, or make a couple copies in different locations so you have multiple places to look. Look forward to future videos!
Cool topic for a video. I always wondered what went through their heads for some of these, others seemed confusing due to trying to use pokemon logic on these (glad to see I wasn't the only one). One small thing I'll comment about the video itself is that the robot master battle themes during game transitions would get pretty loud compared to your commentary. Can't wait to see what other video ideas you have (perhaps explaining bosses strengths?)
I like a lot of the reasoning you gave for weaknesses. And the presentation was very nicely done for your first video. As for Tomahawk Man's weakness, I've always managed to remember its Plant Barrier because of a MM webcomic where he died because of a flower allergy.
My favorite kind of youtube channels are the ones who skip the testing process and just start by dropping a banger video

Battle network and Star Force's weakness cycle is more efficient.
Fire beats wood, wood beats electricity and electricity beats water.
There's a second cycle of the following:
Sword beats air, Air beats cursor/sniper, sniper beats break.
I was sitting here wondering how long this channel had been around... BUT IT'S BRAND NEW.
Right! Excited to see where this channel goes.
Me too ! Instant subscribe!
I am impressed that YT actually recommended this one to me. I haven`t watched anything MegaMan related in a while.
Mechanical master Hi-5 (>'.')^
Assuming dive man is superstitious 🤣 that's pretty great
Another reason Spring Man is weak to Slash Claw is because springs are usually made from thin wires wound into a spiral, and just as Elec Man is weak to Rolling Cutter, wires used to make springs are weak to sharp objects like pliers. This can be seen in Spring Man's damage animation from Slash Cutter, where fragments of his springs can be seen falling off his body.
Good point.
You could take this logic in a completely different direction given that springs are mainly tension based and Slash Claw being the obvious. It essentially becomes a literal phrase of "Cut the tension with a knife"
@@shinvaX I like this idea lol.
That was my thought process as well.
I was always under the impression that Shadow man was weak to Top spin just because he hated fun
PFFFFFTTTT! I'm just imagining him as that robot from that Sonic picture book, putting up a sign that says "NO FUN ALLOWED" XD
@@FlamingMercury5 FUN POLICE WEEWOO
The "Venus is weak to Mars" reason is the best one.
Oh hey it's Rushjet1. Wassup
Not to mention the old trope of Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars....i still never really liked that divisive saying
Yes this was a great one! Close second was Jupiter’s lightning taking out the Titan Saturn… Yay Roman mythology references 😆
I had no idea about this. Good to know.
The Robot Master Field Guide actually states that Pharaoh Man's eyes are built for exploring dark places, so the video's explanation is correct.
@@RuneScapeShadoma well I'll be damned. Sorry for spreading misinformation then!
@@NurseValentineSG It even shows up in the Archie comics, where Pharaoh Man pops up a few times and it's occasionally shown that he doesn't react well to bright light.
Guts Man being a workaholic is insanely relatable
I use to think that Guts Man's weakness to Time Man was because it freezes him intime for the block to fall on his head. But thinking about it now that block would most likely break and not do anything to Guts Man
I'm an old person, and it brings me joy that a young person such as yourself genuinely enjoys these old games. Thank you so much!!! Sometimes oldies are truly goodies. And games are no exception!
“Old person”. I have doubts that you’re all that senior if you played NES games. Probably not even 50!

Applauding fun new good natured Mega Man videos 👏 well done Mercury

Oh my gosh! Egoraptor? I'm starstruck! 🤩
I watched Game Grumps all the time when I was a teen. In fact, I believe I was watching your MM2 playthrough while working on this vid. I had no idea that one of the Grumps would comment on my very video!
Omg egoraptor hi
It’s the video game boy!
Hey what's up, Arin? Still glad you're not a Sega Sonic Ambassador anymore by the way.
I'm gonna try and give lore reasons for some weakness:
Shade Man: Vampires are weak to silver in mythology, and Wild Coils might be made of silver or atleast some variant of it.
Spring man does seem to get cut in half while hitting with the slash, separating the legs from the head
Those could very much be true.
I like to imagine that Quick Man's acceleration and movement systems generate a lot of heat and his fast movement helps disperse the heat, so if his engine is revving (so to speak) but he's stuck in place, his internals begin to overheat and damage his body.
Also Wood Man's systems are also mostly made of wood therefore making him extremely flammable.
It is described as a material that combines "The lightness and robustness of titanium combined with a hardness and scratch-resistance similar to ceramic", much like its fictional counterpart.
they definitely had to have known what they were doing
Life imitates art!
There's the Collections series for Classic and X on multiple platforms
coughoremulatecoughcough, ahem
Depends if you wanna play for lore/story (as much as it is), or for gameplay.
Gamplay, depends more on _what_ you wanna play. Old-skool action-platformer? Classic, X, Z, ZX. Linear RPG? EXE, Starforce (and in X: Command Mission). Action-shooter? Legends.
Lore/story? Go down the main timeline:
Classic, X, Z, ZX, Legends.
EXE goes into Starforce, but is an entirely separate timeline, where Dr Light went more into inventing the Internet than physical robotics.
If you just wanna play 'the best ones' --- the FF7s, the Ocarina of Times, and the Symphony of the Nights of the franchise, hmmmmmmmmmmmm... personal opinions (tho I'm sure you'll find other lists more thoroughly debated elsewhere)
Classic: 2, 7.
X: 1, 5, _Command Mission_
I didn't play Z, ZX, or Starforce.
This is a strong first outing, and you have readily earned my interest and support. Excellent video.
Also, your hair is glorious.
Also, I need that clip of you blowing out a candle to just be a regular reoccurring thing in all your videos going forward.
stealing a video that was made the day before is strong, sure
Wood Man interestingly has _three_ weaknesses; Metal Blade because buzzsaws cut through wood, Atomic Fire because flames burn wood, and Air Shooter because wind blows away leaves. The Air Shooter can hit him while his shield is up.
Mega Man 3 has many bosses with two weaknesses. Magnet Man is weak to both Spark Shock and Shadow Blade.
I didn't know Wood Man is weak to the Air Shooter. I also didn't know Magnet Man is weak to the Shadow Blade.
@@RoninCatholicI imagine is some other media or spin off game
Like power battle (he is in the first one, I think it was cut man weapon) or the Archie comics (fun fact, there bubble man is weak to lead shield, even tho in game he is immune to it)
Magnet Man is also semi weak to Magnet Missile, infact every robot master from 3 is weak to thier own weapon.
Actually, Shadow Blade is strong against all Robot Masters, including Shadow Man.
Also early trains are powered by steam, and I see Charge Kick as coal, so hearing up water using coal gives Mega Man an advantage
Some additional thoughts/elaborations:
Seeing people try to explain Shadow Man's weakness to Top Spin is always amusing to follow, but an old fansite, Sinister Six, gave me one of the more plausible explanations:
Shadow Man's fighting style in his debut revolves around acting on his name and being Mega Man's =shadow=, mimicking how he jumps and slides.
Love it! In all my 35 years as a megaman fan I've never seen content like this. Keep up the good work! Subscribed!
Whenever I think about Toad Man being weak to the Drill Bomb I just think of Adam Sandler Dracula going "well yeah, who wouldn't that kill?"
YES! Hotel Transylvania!
So, some fun fun details:
Needle Man is weak to the Gemini Laser because it's a piercing weapon and Needle Man has a phobia of syringes
Water wouldn't work putting out a star, they would just add to its mass.
Yoo congrats on the first video, this was a good watch💯 mega man was a good series during my high school years during the sm4sh era

I've watched this channel go from 250 to 466 in a matter of 6 hours. I'm impressed with that and the quality on display
One thing to add to the Gemini man weakness, as per the Robot Master Field Guide, in character he also severely hates (or is afraid of) snakes.
I'll throw in my two cents here for what you expressed confusion over:
- Tomahawk Man, as a native American-inspired robot, would be close with nature, so harming it would go against his beliefs.
A new channel that can cover Mega Man stuff hell yeah
Damn this much attention to a first video is amazing.. keep it up
New channel just dropping Mega Man content? That's a bold play. I'm here for it!
Very nice first video! As someone who's mostly just read some comics and the wiki, it's cool learning Mega-lore, including boss weakness reasons!
Really solid first video! Got my sub!
För this being your first video, that was a very well written script with a great delivery. I'm excited to see more.
Dang this is your first video? Well you’re already doing awesome.
I’ve never even cared for thinking about Mega Man weaknesses yet here I am. Watching this whole video.
Congrats on seemingly having your first video be blessed by the RUclips algorithm (at least. comparatively speaking for a first video)
7:11 - I think that Crash Bomber functions as Quick Man's secondary weakness more because not even he can outrun an explosion,
8:43 - It's more that "Search Snake" can see through illusions and weak points (which is why it's Copy Mega Man's weakness, as well as Dr. Wily's secondary weakness)
10:46 - I think it's more because Bright Man's head is based on an old school incandescent bulb which generates light but also a lot of heat.
12:40 I always thought Napalm Man was weak to the Crystal Eye due to it clogging up his top cannon-hole, but your explanation makes a TON more sense, lol
Subbed!
Very charming video. Love how you interspersed things with different bits, like irl examples or referencing other similar media. Great work!
I was getting into Mega Man this past week and wasn't surprised this got in my recommended but holy hell I didn't realize this was the first video, it's really well done
Congrats on your first RUclips video, and good luck with the channel! This was very entertaining.
Man, a brand new channel with an instant banger of a video. You’re gonna go far kid.
Wow, you really knocked it out of the park for your first video! Great job hun! Also, one natural curl to another, look into the Curly Girl method it's amazing!!
This is a really fun first video!!!! Looking forward to what you do next!
Great video and solid weakness explanations!
If this is your first RUclips vid, you knocked it out the park! Keep em coming 😁
Very good for a first video, looking forward to future videos!
This is an *incredible* debut video. Megaman is THRIVING on youtube nowadays
i like how she straight up opens like there's lore about the other microphone and it's a great loss that it broke, but this is her first video.
like, legit, i love that she just dives right in! no long preamble, just "let's pretend i've been doing this for years" and it works!
For a first video this was VERY entertaining, informing, and great quality. :D Looking forward to future videos!
Windman may also just take damage from having his lighter and more fragile fans stuck in place while trying to force them to move
I always believed Springman was because... well, springs are thin curly wires, easy to cut
While I also use the same logic of Iceman to Coldman, while Fireman's may be related to Burnerman the later's weakness is more that he can't get out of the way of the sliding ice pillars and is pushed into the spikes at the sides of the battlefield, so... maybe they puncture his fuel canisters?
And yeah, same for Tundraman as Iceman and Coldman, and the same for Torchman as Fireman.
For a first video it’s really good. Scads of potential. I subbed.
There's no WAY this is your first video this is a banger, come this stuff coming!!!
Great first video! Keep it up and with time experience and improving you’ll have a top tier channel!
No way..A girl talking about megaman? That's rare.. a rare gem
Man this is some high quality content your makeing here AND THIS IS JUST YOUR FIRST VIDEO keep up the great work girl!
For springman cutting slashclaw, you could say you are cutting springs, cut them in the middle and a spring will not work
That bit with Dust Man caught me so off guard. Imagining him freak out about someone tossing a ring in the dumpster is making me laugh more than I should.
This was a fun watch! It makes me want to pick up the field guide after all this time.
Amazing first video! Really well made and you have good and witty humor!
The part where you called out Capcom being lazy for not giving us more Mega Man was well warranted, also great video!!
Awesome video, especially for a first on the channel. I would've probably made a few and uploaded them at the same time though, so people have more reason to stay on your page. But you'll do well for sure with this quality content.
First video and it popped off! Congrats great first video!
Congrats on your very first video blowing tf up!!! as a big mega man fan, I'm so happy for you! vid is very fun, good job and i cant wait for more.

Something you missed about the weaknesses of the MM3 Robot Masters is their secret weakness towards... their own weapon.
Beyblades.
One video and already 2k subs lowkey this video is fire
Hit the ground running, I respect the verve - Subscribed, and Please Keep Up The Great Work! (:
P.S. Will the rant about Capcom's treatment of Mega Man be a separate video? I'd be willing to hear out what you have to say
That's a pretty awesome Mega Man 2 shirt! Love that flair. Also, great 1st RUclips video! Very informative and I enjoyed watching it.
Brand new channel that's addressing my weirdly specific desire for megaman explanations for a completely unrelated DnD game? Wild, but thanks, algo.
What an awesome first video! I can't wait to see what else you make!!!
You got good energy and work well on RUclips. One advice is possibly keep your script or notes by the camera to keep eye contact with the audience.
Very good first video. One thing I did notice is flashing down and to the right a lot, seemingly at the script. I think that could mostly be edited around, or make a couple copies in different locations so you have multiple places to look. Look forward to future videos!
Absolutely wild to me that this is a first video for you. Great editing and performance!
Pretty good start. Can't wait to see if you continue.
Incredibly well made video for someone with only 236 subscribers. You deserve the best.
I like a lot of the reasoning you gave for weaknesses. And the presentation was very nicely done for your first video.
As for Tomahawk Man's weakness, I've always managed to remember its Plant Barrier because of a MM webcomic where he died because of a flower allergy.
This is exactly the type of video I wanted as a kid, lol
def looking forward to what this channel has in store for the future
