Yeah, my mind went to necromancy for a split second, but now I'm thinking it's just swapped babies. I think Master Raymond saw the possible futures like Doctor Strange, and if Claire had kept Faith, she would have stayed, and died at Culloden, and the timeline would have unraveled. No Brie, Roger, Jemmy, Mandy, none of it.
Or time travel... or LJ's sexual orientation, for that matter (did you notice the use of the term "depraved sod" referring to Harkness). Oh, poor William has a lot to discover and come to terms with one day.
I can see Master Raymond swapping babies to preserve the optimal timeline for his descendants and maybe even the world. It’s also possible that Master Raymond was asking for Claire’s forgiveness for something entirely different. Perhaps something he’ll be forced to do in Claire’s future or something Claire will be forced to do? I’m looking forward to your reactions for season eight Alexa. It’s time to wrap this one up.
As much as I LOVE Master Raymond and was thrilled to see him again, I didn't like that scene. Why would he come back to ask forgiveness if he's not ready to say what for? It makes no sense, character-wise. They just needed something to make the later scenes more believable. I've heard said that Diana thought they handled that plot-line a bit clumsily. I agree. Granted, they thought S7 would be the last so they didn't have a lot of time to change/add things. Hopefully, there will be a bit more thought behind it in S8.
My theory/opinion is that Master Raymond saved Faith using the blue light. I wonder what story lines they are going to use in season 8 from Book 9 (Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone) since there are only 10 episodes. You can also speculate from the characters that they have announced that they cast for season 8.
If they're gonna make Frances and Claire related than hopefully it won't be by Claire and Jamie's Faith, but through Claire's mother. This so called reveal does feel like it's a set up for the spinoff.
Fun lil bit of useless info, I was actually in the production studio for Outlander over here in Scotland years ago, was fitting some carpet to what I presume would be a writing room or something like that
Nope, I don't believe that Faith lived. It's just a ploy to keep everybody dangling and dangling until season eight comes. I didn't care for the ending at all.
Thank you for your reaction. I know a lot of people are upset by the story line and I don't understand. I was glad to see you didn't get all upset. For one, they didn't say for sure Faith lived, as you said, they left it a mystery until next season. Second, all this hand wringing because William would have slept with his half niece. As you know, relations between close family members was not unknown at the time but more than that, neither William or Jane had any idea of their "possible" family connections so move on from it. We are such a judgy society. Where is the outrage over the treatment of women by Harkness, the lot of women who had no other choice but to be prostitutes and the attitude towards women who were (and are) sex workers. Okay that's my soapbox, I thought it was a beautiful and tender episode with the balance of joy and grief, new life and death. I cried right along with Ian. Besides Claire and Jamie, Young Ian is my favorite character. John Bell does such a good job.
I am so used to somewhat close relatives marrying each other in that time period, that honestly I didn’t even notice until reading other people’s comments about it online! I mean Pride & Prejudice we had Mr Collins showing up as a relative, nobody seems to talk about that 😂
i'm sorry but i hate this plot line. even if it turns out to be part of book 10 or whatever...no. why. why was this necessary? i dont like it. The reality of the pain they went through was what made it so tragic but relatable. now it's gonna turn out a wooopsiie, here, little zombie Faith. nah. screw that. 10/10 for William falling in love with and screwing his niece twice if so, show. Iconic. eww the "you look like you've seen a ghost" scene between Bree and Brian pisses me off so muuuuuuuuuuch. Please, Alexa...get soon to that scene in the books and tell me this isnt poopoo compared to how it is on the book "i was not expecting this" me: oh shit...just wait for Rollo...
Great reaction. That is a cliffhanger I was not expecting. Can't wait to see Prequel series outlander blood of my blood and season 8

That is the most logical, but necromancer wizards are my fave D&D class to run, so I am biased!
Geez, you think William has had tantrums about Jamie being his dad....no one must ever tell him about Jane..(awkward eye darting).
😬

Excellent review 😊
As a book reader, I have no idea what the ending meant.

I think raymond was there when she gave birth and swapped the babys , i have a feeling the baby she held and was berried wasnt faith

Plus he wrote to her for years…never thought to mention it!
As a book reader, I agree. I won't say any spoilers of course, but I really did not like this ending.
Ugh, the Rollo death just tore me apart!
Just to give you a heads up ! a teaser has been released on the new upcomming show blood of my blood !
I had to cancel Starz for now due to financial issues but plan to binge that series when I restart it right before the next Outlander series :)
@@alexachipman Oh that's so relatable haha. can't wait ! Love ur reactions the most

I don't want Jane and Fanny's mother to be their Faith, because that woman is dead now. And Jane is dead too, so they wouldn't be able to know them
