I’m glad they added the footage of Shoaib Akhtar against Brian Lara. Shoaib actually wrote about that in his book, he even made Lara sign the same ball afterwards. He described it as a big moment in his career because Lara was the best cricket had at that time while Akhtar was still making a name for himself.
11:50 that guy is called*The Wall* because its really hard to get him out, its easier to get rest of 10 players out than trying to get wicket of Dravid.
@Kepler 7 f u
@S Wright lol
Philip huges is missing here, he was died due to brutual bouncer.

RIP Phil Hughes
it was a slower ball..
Brett Lee was one of the fiercest cricketers but one of the greatest sportsmen as well.
You forget about shoaib akthar.
@@beerusreal6 Shoaib was ok ... always enjoyed when he was younger and toured Australia with a strong Pakistani team ... BUT Brett Lee every single Australian summer was amazing to watch AND Brett turned it on from day 1! His debut test at the MCG set the tone of what was to come (Similar to Shane Warne also a star from day 1)
@@markward2824 shoaib was ok????
boy you are beginner of cricket?
i guess!
Brett Lee has smashed 17 hellmats
12:06 he is the best human being you can find in cricket history... The WALL... thats how the smile came even in the pain...
Oh beautifully said. He is such a nice kind man. No wonder he's turned around India's junior cricket system. Those kids are his legacy.
Anita K yes ☺️ he was my frst and forever idol...
@@shreyaskalnad970 A brilliant man. Anyone who can have half his work ethic will be a very successful person. All the best.
Anita K ☺️☺️
@Nomi why are you so triggered man.. chill and get some life dude

No wonder he is tough. He was called 'The Wall' when he used to play for India. He just wouldn't get out for days during test matches and annoyed the heck out of bowlers. He retired in 2014 and is now the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of India where he grooms the Under 19 players.
Shoaib akhtar running from boundary putting all his energy bowling 155+.
Rahul dravid defend/leave
For India only
@@shoaibbashir4885 Is something burning?
Oh! It's your butt!
In Pakistan we hated Dravid, which basically was deep respect for him as a batsman. I regard him much higher than Sachin and Laxman, two other Indian legends.
@Dev I believe you, he rescued Indian innings from defeats a few times. He's an Indian legend.
Now imagine, before 1972, they played without helmets..Now a days there are restrictions to the number of bouncers a bowler could bowl, which is 2 per over, but prior to this they could bowl 6 bouncers in a 6 ball over..
Bouncers are there to test the nerve and skill of the batsmen and set him up for yorker or a full pitched delivery with him expecting another bouncer, therefor playing it on the back foot. If the ball stays straight he likely to be trapped LBW or if it jags away it is likely to find the edge of his bat for a catch in the slips cordon.
Another video that needs to be sent to you should inform you of the various fielding positions with their peculiar names...as also why they are likely to be used...the kind of bowler and the tendencey of a batsman to play a particular shot..
Good idea. Thanks
@@BoringReviews There is a fielding position called 'silly point'. Basically u stand 5 yards away from the batsman, in his main strike zone. Very dangerous if the batsman hits u as it is point blank range with no time to react.
@@davidforman6191 I remember Raman Lamba fielding at silly point and getting hit on his forehead. He died while being taken to the hospital.
@Clive Hooper made sure i never fielded there. Scary
Back in the 70s and 80s, it must have been terrifying playing against the West Indies. Check out this article about England’s tour of the West Indies in 1986. The first match at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica was described as “cricket’s equivalent of the Somme”. It’s a long article, so if you don’t want to read it just look at the picture of Mike Gatting. He got that injury off a Malcolm Marshall bouncer in a one day match before the Test series started, so he missed the series as he had to fly home for surgery. This is what the article says about that incident:
“When Marshall prepared to bowl the next delivery, he found a piece of Gatting’s nose in the ball and threw it down in disgust.”

@@osvertlara5702 Perfect!!! Dravid is BOSS
What this shows is that Brett Lees (Australia) bowled the nastiest bouncers in the modern era. He is in this video several times. He bowled 150-160 km hour (95-100 mph for USA readers) and his bouncers were very accurate.
Not that he was ever happy about hurting people- he’s a lovely man and a great sportsman. Which is why he’s one of my favourite cricketers, talent and sportsmanship.
The more you watch cricket you will fall in love with cricket. Enjoy. One Australian cricketer died a few years ago.
Sunny Gavaskar legendary Indian batsman never wore any helmet entirely through out his cricketing career and I bet you guys he has faced some deadly bouncers from furious bowlers of that time.
Some, nay many of the most furious bowlers of all time, with no restrictions. Gavaskar underrated legend, probably 1 of best ever openers.
Jofra archer is the new bouncer specialist... He hit atleast one batsman of the every team he played against in 2019 world cup..
shoa sha we gotta check out some of his clips.
@@osvertlara5702 he just debut last year, no any fan boi uploaded some of it yet, not even in match highlights.
Jofra Archer is fierce no doubt but he isn't that fierce tbh... And you are exaggerating in your comment. He didn't hit one batsman of every single team in 2019 wc
@@pandaprrr995 not every but almost
There were a couple of well known incidents missing from this compilation, which you can research and look at off camera. Malcolm Marshall vs Mike Gatting (where did it hit you ?), and when Courtney Walsh broke Robin Smith's jaw, and Robin Smith just smiled. This was back in the day when helmets weren't compulsory, and Robin Smith refused to wear a full face helmet because he said he got a rush from facing fast bouncers.
Sadly, this bravado was neither big or clever, and thankfully there are more compulsory safety measures are in place now, but still not enough. RIP Phillip Hughes :'(
A cricket ball has killed many people , rip Philip Hughes who died 2 years ago when I was in the crowd
A little context on 12:55
That delivery was by "Shoaib Akhtar" the record holder for the fastest ball ever bowled so that poor batsman got hit hard cuz he was a fast af bowler
That guy who took the ball with balls is Rahul Dravid aka the wall. He is from my town. Also another guy is Gary Kirsten best coach for India. India managed to lift the world cup after 20+ years, he played a major role in that. I remember that moment where Indian players carried him in their shoulders.
Man did he stay local? Every meet him?
Yeah cricket is gentlemen’s game but at the same time it’s dangerous if you’re playing against lethal fast bowlers. If you noticed, one bowler was most of the time in this video. His name is Brett Lee. He is loved not only by Australian but all the cricket playing nations loves him.
An Australian player named PHIL HUGES died due a bouncer ball which hit on his back head.
And can you please review movie UDAAN and IQBAL. Both are inspirational and amazing.
He is tough because he is Indian legend
Cricket is a gentleman's game. Cricketer don't fight. They play like a true gentleman.
mukesh pal I agree it’s good that the bowlers show batters respect and immediately go check on them.
React to Abd 149 runs in 44 balls vs WI. He was absolutely brilliant.
The amazing part is if you are hit once, expect the bowler to attempt to hit you the very next ball again. It is a test of mental strength and technique. And the game goes on for 5 days, expect lot of it if you want to score runs.
That tough guy is our all time favorite Rahul Dravid
wow, for a nice guy, Brett Lee has wounded a lot of people :))
Bretlee158shoab161😱😎💪🇵🇰
I remember how he was injured during world cup quarter final vs India while defending the boundary
Some indian jaleous from sohaib akhtar.
When that cricket ball hits a crack in pitch it goes anywhere.
Before the 70' s Batters didn't wear any protective gear except for leg pads, batting gloves and a box. Mainly it was terry toweling hats or baggy caps for their heads. Result - many broken bones and bruised bodies. Jeff Thompson (Thommo) a terrifying exponent of fast bowling once stated that those hats were only for mopping up blood. Brutal.
This was like a Bing Lee highlights reel, he featured five times.
Good video. The bloke who was smiling. He has a Nickname - great Wall of India
Nowadays they have improved the helmets. They have a neck guard between the grill and spine stem.. a few years back a player died as it snappped his step out after which they added the safety..
Thank god for that we don’t wanna see anyone lose their life in a game.👍
when 160 + km/h bowl coming towards you. You have no chance to think .
Kshitij pronunciation was picture perfect
Thanks for saying so. I wasn’t too confident.
11:44 he is Rahul Dravid my favorite Cricketer of ALL TIME. (literally NumeroUno on my list)
What I like about him is his mental strength & ability to adjust/adapt to every situation.
he's a really calm & polite guy too
People call him "The WALL" because he is really difficult to break mentally. He doesn't look big but that mental strength gets him through all the odds.

Thanks Movie Community College. We’re just trying to come close to the growth that your channel has seen. You guys are killing it. How long have you been around.
The guy in the dark blue T-shirt reminds me of "Abe Saale "
Hi guys loving the content I'm all the way from South Africa you guys have come a long way👊❤️
YORKERS FROM HELL - WAQAR YOUNIS COMPILATION OF DOOM. That is the title of video
Thank you so much guys...loved your reactions..:D
You’re welcome. Thanks Saibal.
Last guy Alex tudor skull was cracked from that ret lee bouncer
You know the batsmen is having a bad day when the commentator says "Oooh another one on the helmet"
React to Waqar Younis' yorkers compilation
Been hit in the face once. It's as fun as you'd imagine. A bunch of these bouncers were Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar btw, you guys should check them out (the less horrific stuff)
Funny thing is, as lethal they were on the field, they're both incredibly nice people off it.
@@EnterSpacebar very true sir both very humble guys
You're bat is for three things. Scoring runs, protecting your wicket and protecting yourself!
Working through some old video here. Just wanted to point out that all of these batsmen were wearing helmets. It wasn't too long ago (as far as the history of cricket is concerned) that helmets either weren't available or seldom worn. Batsmen had to learn to avoid the ball by moving their body out of the way, you'll see nearly all of these players either stood there and turned their back on the ball or tried to duck under it. Much like the introduction of hard shelled helmets in American football resulted in players using the helmet as a weapon, cricketers now rely on the helmet for all of their protection instead of it being additional protection.
Legend Of Pakistan Shohib Ahatar 🇵🇰💪
"Talk about a man right here" - That's Rahul Dravid, nickname The Wall. It's only back in the 70s or so that players even started wearing helmets, and the guys were every bit as fast back then.
The guy who was smiling at getting hit... His ear was bleeding... He is my favourite cricketer, his name is Rahul Dravid...his nick name is " The Wall".
There are many instances where guys keep playing on despite injuries to win or save matches...some of the popular ones are
Anil kumble of India keeps on playing despite broken jaw.
Greame Smith of South Africa batted with broken hand.
Gary Kristen of South Africa batted with a black eye.
Ian Bell came to bat with a broken foot.
And many more.
Also Its crazy that in 70s the helmet doesn't had the grill at all.
Did Ganguly ever get struck by a bouncer? If he did, how did he react?
@@handsolo1209 he had such a long career I'm sure he had stuck by a bouncer...I think in Indian tour of Australia... He stuck by a bouncer by McGrath ... But that wasn't very brutal.
Thanks, baseball guys. I am a cricket fan and your response and analysis of cricket are very refreshing to watch. The cricket fan base is almost 3 billion people around the world so keep posting cricket videos and you will attract many fans of your own. If you liked Chris Gayle's 50 in 12 balls, please check out his 175 in a single T20 match when he hit 17 sixes and 13 fours. Lots of fireworks to discuss.
The tough smiling man is known as The Wall. He is one of the best Test Cricketer India ever produced .
Philip Huges, Raman Lamba and Zubair Ahmed they was died on the spot due to bouncer ball hit on their helmet....!
It's a miracle that no cricketers ever get hit in the throat where there is zero protection.
I played Cricket for 20 years, it was only in the last 3 years I wore a helmet, I was hit a few times and have a boxers nose and false teeth, really happy though that you guys are spreading the word about Cricket, often described as a boring sport, you can see its far from boring.
Helmet designs were drastically improved after Phil Hughes incident.
You got it guys.Cricket is about defending yourself and your wicket first, then you think about getting runs(20/20 less so obvs, that's about quick runs). That's why you need all the protective gear. You are hopefully out there longer than a baseball at bat, so you will probably end up getting hit.
Take a look at Michael Holding bowling to Brian Close in 1976. No blood, but scary enough as just a cloth cap between skull and ball!
The ball is hard as stone and these are coming down at up to 90mph. First time i was ever knocked out was a cricket ball to the head at school.
Don't forget the ball is travelling between 90/100.mph.
Red coloured test match ball laughing in the funeral
Dennis Lili legendary bowler from Australia used to scare opponents sledging “I want blood on this Pitch.”
Jeff Thomson said that mate.
A cricket ball bowled at 90mph has the same impact energy as a heavyweight boxer's hardest punch. Imagine standing in front of Mike Tyson and letting him have a free swing at you.
Same impact, but it's almost as hard as stone.
Going back to the 60's and 70's I can remember a few cases where the batsman has broken his arm and has retired hurt only to then return to crease to help the team to try and either win/draw the match or to help a team mate to get to 100
Pringle from South Africa lost his one eye ...
Just to clarify, those clips were taken over a large No of years and the older clips were the clips where vision was low RES. In cricket there has only been one KNOWN death. He was a professional player. Bouncers arent meant to hit but sometimes they do. A batsman with good technique will know how to score runs from and how to avoid a bouncer. But again accidents do happen sadly.
Cricket is a sport of great extremes, probably more than any other sport. It could be day 3 of a test match on a flat pitch when everything seems so mundane that time seems to stop and even the players are yawning...but you could suffer life changing injuries while batting, bowling or fielding.
- Batsmen getting knocked out, concussed, faces smashed, toes broken has happened a lot. Batsmen also run extremely fast sprints while taking quick runs; try doing that in full gear in 40 degrees heat after spending 3 hours on the ground.
- Getting hit on the nut sack by a rock hard ball hurtling along at 145 kmph is a routine occurrence
- Bowlers breaking their ankles, stress fractures because of sprinting in, jumping and throwing using a round arm action with great accuracy..all at the same time
-Close in fielders getting smashed every now and then. Fielders picking up serious injuries while diving in the outfield, even colliding with another fielder and breaking noses and knees. I know of atleast 2 wicketkeepers whose careers ended after the ball or the bails damaged their eyes.
The ball is hard as heck and comes at you at 90 miles an hour. Also it can come very unpredictably. The other thing is that even fielders get brutally hit. It is a tough game.
Cricket ball is like a hard rock
The whole reason helmuts came into cricket was because of two Australian fast bowlers , ie Denis lillie and Jeff Thomson , both were deadly bowlers Thomson was outrages brute speed and power
As an old opening batsman this brings back memories of being hit a few times....much tougher game than many would think. I got more bruises/broken bones than playing Aussie Rules Football. I have seen a number of nasty injuries to fellow players including broken teeth.
The second last one (the bald guy) was the English batsman Brian Close (I think)
He was as hard as nails, & hated wearing a helmet, but as you can see, it saved his bacon that day!
The Pakistani bowler, who bowled to him, Shouab Akhtar, was really fast, & brutal! 😲
What's interesting is that till around 1985 they didn't use helmet. Most batsmen thought it adversely affected by it. And the bowlers were as fast as today, if not faster(can't be certain as they didn't have speed gun).
a cricketer from australia whose name was Phillip huges was dead after facing the bouncer on his head
Any one ?
Shohib akhter❤❤ fans
👇👇
The commentator who said he might have lost some teeth is Ian Botham. As a teenager he famously lost a few teeth in a game but carried on playing to win the game. He very rarely wore a helmet even in relatively modern times.
You have to check out the fielding position called silly point ,or silly mid on and silly mid off ? Their are some catching videos in that position!
And you thought it was gentle gentlemens game noooo!!
Thankfully Phil Hughes wasn't in this video. I love watching videos of Bouncers but I hate it when some people send videos like that for reaction when they know very well what happened to Phil Hughes.
Every time me watching a video like that, it reminds me ausie cricketer Phill Hughes;( RIP
Rick McCosker in the Centenary Test.
Australian batsman Philip Hughes died on 30th November 2015 due to s bouncer hitting him in the neck and rupturing one of the arteries and resulting in brain hemorrhage. He was 25.
Cricket now has concussion substitute.
The use helmet is always next level but ball is very hrd n coming to so quik
12:13 fastest bowler on planet
Shoaib Akhtar 161.3 kph of Pakistan 🔥
The ball is made of cork and stitched and wrapped in leather. The color depends on the format of the game.
I can tell you from personal experience that a cricket ball hurts more than a baseball when it hits you in the face.
An Australian cricketer died a few years back because he was hit in the wrong place on his head. A cricket ball is like concrete wrapped in leather.
You go down when your hit with a brick at 100mph!!
Hey guys what you need to know from a context point of view is a bouncer is just another delivery. A batsman has to have good technique to play every delivery. Not just the bouncer. Keep in mind leaving the ball without playing or "ducking" is allowed in cricket. If a batsman leave the ball its considered a good delivery by the bowler and a good batting technique too. So the effect is null. Leaving the ball has a binary effect in baseball.
When you watch multiple videos of bouncers hitting batsman you might think its savage and they need better helmets. But there are plenty and more instances of fast bowlers getting punished by batsman for bowling bouncers or just leaving the ball alone. So keep in mind this video is a collection of very rare events put together.
Do a reaction on Shoaib Akhtar the fastest bowler in the world, still holds the record of 161.3 kph. ⚡ Extremely furious and lethal, he was a treat to watch, had the longest run up as well in the history of cricket! 🔥
You obviously didn't see Jeff Thomson bowl in the 70's.
To add a bit of humour check out the Mike Gatting interview, where Gatting with a broken nose and 2 black eyes was asked by a journalist "where did the ball hit you".
American's knew cricket is not just about hitting hard.
Obstructing the vision would be more dangerous. These injuries are reasonably rare. The best way to dodge quick bouncers is to keep your wyes on the ball the same as dodging a punch in boxing you wouldnt want to blur the vision
Consider many of these deliveries are over 90 mph. A batsman has about half a second to react to a ball that could do anything as shown here.
One cricketer who dead by killer bouncer in 2015 his name is philipps huges from Australia after I watched your video I miss him
I remember family guy mocking cricket saying that they dint know why the batters wear helmets. If they only knew lol
Striking the batsmen is legal and considered a good delivery
front shoulder is a blind spot
In the Seventies they use to play cricket without helmets
Shoaib Akhtar and Brett lee used to be every batsman's nightmare in broad daylight.😁
Hello from uk 🇬🇧 mate just subscribed to your channel good luck buddy
You should checkout what Malcom Marshall did to Mike Gattings nose. when Marshall went to pick the ball up afterwards
he dropped it because there was bits of bone stuck to it
The second video I've watched and already in love with you guys
Kirsten, Strauss, Lara, Dravid. Some great batsmen there who know it’s just part of the game. Best way to get back at a bowler bowling like that is to score runs.
Surprised to see none of the West Indian bowlers have found a place here.
