I read SIKTC deluxe version and really liked it. Definitely a little disappointed BOOM didn’t include the original issue covers in the book like any reader would expect to have in this format. But the story was great. I was on the fence about Department of Truth but I think you’re reviews convinced me to go check it out!
I really didn’t like this one. The writing was so bad imo. I just don’t think tynion is my jam. Didn’t like Razorblades, this, the second half of nice house on the lake. The scene with the principle was so unrealistic. Telling a student to punch another one? Come on man. She goes into the store looking for the most powerful chainsaw and end up getting a teeny tiny battery operated one. The dumb kid who of course goes into the cave after being told not to. The mc is a total jerk to the cop while being questioned and nothing happens to her. Dude openly admitting to being drunk on the job. It was just so cringe
