Biking the Suncoast Trail Part 1

- Riding my bike on the Southern half of the Suncoast bike path, with a stop off to hike at the CREWS Lake Wilderness Park.
I started at the Lutz Lake Fern Rd Trailhead, and pedaled North to the SR 50 trailhead. I looked for wildlife along the way and stopped to do a hike. Made for a fun day outside.
The further north you go, the less people you see. At first you can be passed but groups of cyclist a dozen strong or more. The roads gradually get more hilly too. I also noticed the pavement was more rough once passing out of Pasco County and into Hernando County. Wasn't bad, just different. The trail actually starts in Hillsborough County but I didn't notice anything about the road surface there. You're not in Hillsborough long.
Water and restrooms were available at the Upper Tampa Bay Trailhead, Starkey Wilderness Preserve, Anderson Snow Park, and the State Rd 50 Trailhead. They can also be found at Crews Lake where I hiked. Stores are not far from the trail if you wanted to make a detour when not near one of the facilities listed.
The entire route follows the Suncoast Parkway so you'll hear road noise all day. There are still some nice landscapes to pass through and I did find animals to film. There were snakes, deer, squirrels, spiders, birds, insects, tortoises, lizards, farm animals, and snails.
I show several of the road crossing that are involved in case some one is curious about those.
One thing I wasn't expecting to happen was to have a low flying plane pass over, about to land. Pretty cool to catch that on camera.

Yeah! Was a great day, other than not being in shape to ride that far. lol
