I am a Christian. Today, Yom Kippur, 9th October 2019, I have met with my dear Jewish friends in the Synagogue, and, oh, the thoughts described by Michael Brown crowded in on me. Their prayers were devout and true, but I was the only one in the place whose sins were atoned for by blood. I am eternally grateful for that, but how I pray that my dear friends would have their eyes opened. How long, O Lord?

    • @kevinoneil56
      @kevinoneil56 4 года назад +2

Thankyou for your response, Lucy. Yes, the covenant made with Abraham was everlasting and unconditional, what an amazing thing that is! And Jesus taught that the religious leaders who rejected His claim of messiahship would 'die in their sins' as a consequence of their unbelief. Yet, at the end of this Age, Paul reveals to us that 'all of Israel shall be saved'.
Paradoxes and apparent contradictions! The Bible is replete with them! We can seek to explain them, but the best of us only 'see in a glass darkly' the purposes of G-d in this world and we mustn't pretend to know more than we do.
I pray for Jewish salvation because I love them but I know also that there is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ/Yeshua Hamashiach. Israel considered Him smitten for His own transgressions but it was for Israel's sins and the world's sins that He was put to death and He was raised from the dead for our justification.
I cannot explain the mysteries of G-d, the whole matter is a wonder to me, we presently see in the glass darkly but then face to face! He knows the way He taketh.
Thankyou for your response, G-d bless.

    • @kevinoneil56
      @kevinoneil56 4 года назад

Lucy, do you believe that Jesus is the Messiah and that His death atoned for our sins?

    • @kevinoneil56
      @kevinoneil56 4 года назад

Lucy, the Hebrew word Messiah/Moshiach means Anointed, Christos is simply the equivalent word in Greek. When we say Jesus Christ, we are saying Jesus the Messiah, there is no difference whatsoever.
Yes, G-d is One, there is no argument here, the very first words that Jesus Himself would have learned were those of the Sh'ma: Hear O Israel, the L-rd our G-d is One...
However, the mystery of His glory has three manifestations, the Father, the Spirit, and the Son. We haven't the space here to fully explain, but may I refer you to a study of the Hebrew words Echad and Yachid? The former word defines a oneness that is complex, such as when two people marry and become one. The latter defines an absolute oneness. Interestingly, the word that G-d used for the Sh'ma in Dt 6:4 is Echad, implying that His Oneness is complex. His Spirit is spoken of in many passages, such as Isa 63:10ff. And Prov 30:4 refers to G-d's Son. Finally, I would emphasise that no orthodox Christian ever thinks of G-d as three separate gods! The idea is abhorrent to him/her. G-d is One.
When you say that 'when G-d sends someone to the Jews they will be saved', are you suggesting that He didn't send Jesus because He failed to restore the Kingdom to Israel? Remember that, throughout history, G-d considers man's freedom of choice as sacrosanct. He did so with the Jews of Jesus' generation, inviting them to make their decision about accepting or rejecting His claims. As a nation they followed their religious leaders and rejected Him. Therefore, the restoration was put on 'Hold', so to speak.
Jews will frequently say that the failure of Jesus to restore the Jewish Kingdom proves that He wasn't the Messiah, this is an error, He didn't restore the Kingdom out of respect for their freewill choice. The failure was, in fact, theirs! When He returns, Israel will accept Him and then He will have the freedom and mandate to go ahead and restore the Kingdom.

Lucy, there's really no need to get hung-up over the Triunity. The first question you need to answer for yourself is: Is Jesus the Messiah?
If your answer is No, then you owe it to yourself to have good reasons for saying so.

It is even more awesome that He, being the Manna from Heaven i.e. the Bread of Life, was crucified on Good Friday so the people of God could have Eternal Sabbath Rest!!!

It IS awesome Keith. Praise Him!! Jesus, however, more than once said the only sign to authenticate His authority would be the sign of Jonah...that He would be 3 nights and 3 days in the grave and arise on the 3rd day. Genesis tells us "the evening and the morning were the first day" so if you count backwards starting from what we now call Saturday evening 3 mornings and 3 evenings you arrive at Wednesday evening. Yeshua was crucified late Wednesday afternoon. The day immediately following was a Sabbath...not a regular weekly Sabbath which we have long interpreted to be Saturday thus supporting the Friday crucifixion error. The Sabbath which followed was Passover. The festivals were also referred to as High Days or High Sabbath Days and therefore some weeks had more than one Sabbath.

    Greetings , i would be very much interested in your opinion, and the opinion of others;
is it possible that the typology of Leviticus 16:5 represents Esau,
Jacob, and Isaac, and by further topological extension represents
Christians and Jews. Esau is the goat for the Lord, Jakob is the
    scapegoat, and Isaac the ram.
This idea is based on the Hebrew word "saw-eer" found in Lev 16:5, this
word is first used in Genesis ch 27, where Esau is "saw-eer", and
Jakob becomes "saw-eer azazel", when the skin of the goat is placed on
him by Rebeca, and Jakob told to escape to Laban.
The word "azazel" can be transliterated to mean "strong one against God", or "Israel God fighter", name given to Jacob in Gen. @
The Day of Atonement is also the Day of Reconciliation, and if in that
ceremony we have Esau, Jacob and Isaac, then in the most holy ceremony
of the Torah we have the prophetic reconciliation between members of the
    Biblical family.

Greetings , i would be very much interested in your opinion, and the opinion of others regarding this thesis:
Is it possible that typology of Leviticus 16:5 represents Esau, Jacob,
and Isaac? and by further extension represents Christians and Jews.
Esau is the goat for the Lord, Jacob is the scapegoat, and Isaac the
ram, and all three represent the One Messiah Jehosha ben Joseph.
This reasoning is based on the Hebrew word "saw-eer" in Lev 16:5, this
word is first used in Genesis ch 27, where Esau is "saw-eer", and Jacob
becomes "saw-eer azazel", when Rebekah places the skin of the goat on
him and he is told to escape to Laban.
The word "azazel" is a portmanteau of two Hebrew words meaning “goat of
departure”, and also means strong one against God, or God fighter, as
does the name Israel given to Jacob.
Day of Atonement is also the Day of Reconciliation, pointing to the
prophetic reconciliation between members of the Biblical family, that is
Christians, Jews, and Messiah Jehoshua . see Malachi 4:4-6"

At 3:18, Dr. Brown erroneously says that there are instances in the Scriptures where animals are killed after sins are confessed over them. This is simply not true. The live goat is the only animal sins are ever confessed over and transferred to in the Scriptures, and it is then released into the desert alive. Obviously, if someone constantly looks through a penal substitutionary atonement lens, they will see and imagine things that just aren't there.

Presenting a sin or trespass offering is an explicit confession of wrongdoing, for which God requires (not optional, unlike burnt, peace and grain offerings) the death of an unblemished animal (after the guilty one's hands are laid upon it). PSA is literally the clearest doctrine we have. It's how we are saved! It's so fundamental... which is why the enemy attacks it so fiercely.

Yehovah did provide a better way, but of course people prefer old wine to the new wine. It was part of the process of announcing this better way and making it obvious that the old way was not sufficient anymore he destroyed the temple. However this is not to say that the old practices will not be reinstated whenever a new temple is constructed. But when and if this occurs it will not make the better way obsolete rather the better way will inform and correct the old way and provide a choice between those who want the tree of life and living things and those who don’t want The solution that Yehovah as provided..Those that claim that the instructions are to be cut out of our praxis have to be very careful how they deal with this matter, for those that cut out instructions even the littlest one and teach others to do so are in danger of being destroyed out of the Imperial administration.❤️ certainly there is no covering that can be made for the people according to the Torah, except the covering that is made by the grace of Yehovah to those that do Tsuvah. And those that do Tsuvah Will LikeDaniel search the profits and be directed to the lamb of Elohim and will be brought into the fold of Yhshua by Yehovah and the proclamation of the good news by the students and apostles of Yhshua, Who being Jewish will handle the oracles correctly and not turn these people aside to the Christological interpretations that have so bankrupt “Christianity“. There is no replacement of Israel or Judah or Ephraim in this so-called “better way“ of the Christians, because they do not understand the good news and twist to their own destruction the purposes of our father for his Israelite and Jewish peoples!
There is one unique and universal Yehovah and he at last created a son of Adam who did what he wanted and what he will even if it meant laying down his breathing and adjusting blood being and pouring out his blood and his water onto the ground outside of Jerusalem and in the streets of Jerusalem. Yehovah faithful to transfer his uprightness to those who transfer to him their contaminations and offcuts and twisting away and breaking step from the instructions of Yehovah, knowing that because this Jewish tzadiq Who was slaughtered and impelled outside the walls of Jerusalem and subsequently died showing his total commitment to the will and plan of our father is now alive forever to instruct teach and guide and train all those who want to be acceptable Apprentices to our father and creator

I would encourage you to seek the Lord for a more accurate understanding of the cross of Christ. Such an understanding is something you will not find among the advocates of PSA. For the Scriptures never say that Jesus was punished in our place, or that He paid a penalty that God demanded for our sin. What they do tell us is that His death took away the Law, which happens to be in direct opposition to your comment:
Romans 10:4 - “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
2 Corinthians 3:11- For if what was being brought to an end came with glory (“the ministry of death carved in letters on stone” [vs. 7]), much more will what is permanent have glory.
Colossians 2:13-14 (NIV84) - “God… canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”
Ephesians 2:14-15 - 14 “For he himself (Christ)… has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances”.
1 Peter 1:18-19 - “…you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.”
Hebrews 8:7-8, 13 (NIV) - “For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said, ‘The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah…’ By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete”.

MY LORD COMETH. TO REGATHER THE REMNANT OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM,
ISAIAH @ AND 11 AND I WILL SET MY HAND A SECOND TIME TO REGATHER THE REMNANT OF THOSE OF MY PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME!
THE SECOND TEMPLE WAS NOT ADMINISTERED BY THE LEVITES, BUT THE PHARISEES
AND THE SADDUCEES WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE RESURRECTION. CHRIST IS
THE FIRST BORN OF THE RESURRECTION.
YESHUA IS THE CREATOR, GOSPEL OF JOHN, IN THE BEGINING WAS YESHUA,
EVERYTHING MADE WAS MADE FOR HIM AND BY HIM. HE IS THE LIVING ONE WHO
LOVES HIS CHILDREN. THAT IS YOU ME AND ALL THE OTHER SINNERS ON EARTH.
NO ONE IS LOCKED OUT OF THE KINGDOM IF THEY WOULD ONLY BELIEVE IN THE
ONLY SON OF YAHWEH. THIS IS THE TRUTH. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR TEACHER,
NOT A PASTOR OR A PRIEST, THEY ARE BLIND GUIDES OF THE PHARISEES, JUST
AS 2OOO YEARS AGO. YESHUA IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, IF YOU BELIEVE IN
HIM YOU HAVE ALREADY PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE AND WONT TASTE SPIRITUAL
DEATH. CHOOSE HIM THIS DAY WHO LOVE YOU, HE AND HIS FATHER HAVE THE
BIGGEST HEART IN THE UNIVERSE AND ALL THE ANGELS REJOICE WHEN ONE LOST
COMES TO YESHUA. TODAY IS YOUR DAY, TO HAVE THE ANGELS REJOICE...IT IS
    FINISHED...THE TRUTH.

The scapegoat out in the Wilderness is Satan going into the Bottomless pit. The author of sin, Satan taking his evil and sin out of the way of humanity into the pit. Jesus was the goat that was sacrificed.

Awesome how the shofar are related to the ram caught in the thicket in Genesis 22, which is a major Messianic prophecy. It is very interesting that the shofar are only blown at one Feast, the Feast of Trumpets. I believe Jesus was born at Trumpets.

Keith Elrod you're close I believe Mary was visited by Gabriel and the Holy Spirit came upon her and Jesus was conceived during the Feast of trumpets. 9 months later he was born on Pentecost. First the head of the body then the body was delivered Pentecost. The comforter, set apart Spirit woke me up for 3 months 3 years ago writing about this and it changed my life. Here is a link to if you care to look. Shalom ibwatchmen.blogspot.com/2017/05/the-message-of-star.html?m=1

I believe it was the Feast of Sukkot, when men were commanded to build three sided dwellings, out of branches,to symbolize God dwelling among us.It is a seven day feast, then,Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day,as is custom.

But these Jews do not believe in Yeshua ... hence this keeping of Yom Kippur is never going to be acceptable to YHWH.
