"There wont be a child in the world who doesnt know this boy's name." i love how that was only meant for the story but actually ended up being true in the real world too
I don't know if they had an original tune, or if they were just trying things out and then John Williams started playing the song for the owl (Hedwig's Theme) and they were like, "we got to keep that."
If you haven't already, I seriously recommend reading the books. They're incredible, and they're much better than the films (not to say you won't enjoy the films, because they're good). We can fill in some of the gaps in the comments sections, of course, but there is going to be things that aren't explained in the films, or that weren't explained very well. Hope you enjoy!
Oh but get the original ones, not the American ones there's actually a decent bit of difference. I mean, a philosopher and a sorcerer aren't even the same thing. Look into Nicholas Flammel the alchemist, btw!
I think it's in general the better experience to watch the movies first and then read the books. It gives you the feeling of bonus material and you'll never be disappointed with the movies.
Enjoyed your reaction. I predict you will really enjoy these. The 1st 2 movies are more children's movies (& of course the lead actors were quite young) but they get more grown up & darker as they go along. It's a great ride. In Greek mythology a 3-headed dog called Cerberus guarded the entrance to the Underworld (Hades). You will find lots of mythological references in JK Rowlings work. Also the adult cast is some of the very best of (mainly) British acting talent - Richard Harris (Dumbledore), Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Dame Julie Walters (Mrs Weasley), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Alan Rickman (Professor Snape) & Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) are just some among many very famous actors who play parts in this movie series.
You’re gonna like these a lot. They’re not perfect, but since you already like fantasy and epic drama, seeing these for the first time is going to be amazing for you. Have fun!
omg the fact you know so little about the series has me SO excited to see the rest of your reactions!! you’re gonna be so surprised to everything, this is gonna be the experience of a lifetime!
For me, the biggest difference is the atmosphere. Each of the movies have a different tone, while in the books they're more cohesive. Also, reading the books we REALLY go into that universe, sometimes it feels like were living in that world ❤️
During the scene where they practise to fly on brooms. In 2011 I actually walked on that feild and it's a real castle. *There was also a little Harry Potter reserve where at the back there were not only every-flavoured beans, chocolate frogs and wands. Even an automated broom which responds if stood above!!*
Idk what it is about late summer 2020 but I’ve watched bout 10+ reactors who all watched the Lord of the Rings series, the Hobbit Series, the Harry Potter series, & Pirates of the Caribbean series. I love it. Aside from the Hobbit, the other 3 film series were my fav fantasy series’ growing up & I’m 33! These reactors are out here bringing my young adulthood back to me. I’m just happy to see these films can still stand the test of time.
Adding my voice that the “read the books, for the love of all the things!” Chorus. Whilst the cuts aren’t too egregious in the first two films, by no. 3 you start losing incredibly important plot details and character motivations.
Getting expelled from wizarding school is actually worse than death for a lot of wizards i would assume. if you are expelled, your wand is being destroyed and you are not allowed to get the wizarding education you need so you wont be able to really live/work in the wizarding world. you basically have to live like a muggle.
When Snape said "put a stopper in death", he didn't mean to stop death .... he was referring to deadly potions - or "bottled death", but with a stopper in the bottle. ;) His whole speech was about magic potions, you may have noticed that's kinda his thing.
Got i. Snape seems like a very interesting character. I hope to learn more about him in the future. Also do you know if every house has alike a head teacher? Because Snape is I believe from Slytherin
@@osmanreacts Professor Flitwick is the short guy who was teaching them spells in this movie (getting a feather to fly). Professor Sprout hasn't appeared yet I think. And McGonagall is the one who taught transmutation and could change into a cat.
The books took place from 1991 to 1998 but I’m not sure about the movies. A lot of people will be telling you they take place at the same time but I always saw it as them taking place the same time they came out, kinda. The movies was released from 2001 to 2011. But there are stuff like the Dursley’s cars and other stuff here and there that makes me think the movies takes place in the 00’s. I feel like if they really wanted to portray they took place in the nineties, they could have done more to show that
Just subscribed ! I can't wait for you to react to the rest of the series 🤗. I love how open minded you are, and you pay attention to details, that's awesome !
Que genial revivir esos tiempos cuando la vi por primera vez. It's great relive those times when I saw it for the first time, with your reactions actually enjoy it. I'm so excited for the third one. Is the best.
"There won't be a child in this world who doesn't know his name" And that statement is proven as Osman starts his video saying "I know the name Harry Potter..." It gives me goosebumps to think that JK Rowling probably knew how successful this series would be when she started writing it.
New sub here! SO excited to have just found your channel as you have begun the most AMAZING series! As with most movie adaptations, I believe the books are better. You probably figure it out eventually (I'm only at 11:35,) but in the context of this, the word 'great' means large, or 'substantial,' etc. Not 'good,' for example. Ollivander isn't saying Voldemort was a good person, he's saying the things he did were very big or significant.
Fun fact - American culture is so up its own arse that the publishers changed the name of this book (& movie) for their audience and thereby took away an enormous freaking clue! In the UK, this is Harry Potter and the Philosophers' Stone. Look up Philosophers' Stone on Wikipedia.
Slytherin isn't really a bad House, nor is Gryffindor a good one, it's like the groups in high school with nerds, jocks etc. Gryffindor would be the jocks.

"How is a terrible thing great?" Okay, you know that "bad ass" doesn't literally mean immoral buttocks, and something terrific doesn't terrify. Did you know the Theme song was originally written for Harry's Owl, but they liked it so much they made it the theme of the whole thing?
Really? I had no idea. Its such a catch tune as well i can kind of see why they changed it up

One reason ALONE to read the novels is Dumbledore. The movies did not do his epicness justice.
Dumbledore, the Marauders and just all the explanation that’s not in the movies
