⚠️SPOILER ALERT 🚨
The main theme through the books/movies is that love is the most powerful thing there is. Agape is never evil.
1 John 4:8
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. His word is love. Planting seeds from scripture ... Trusting God to save... Blessings
This is my favorite movie series of all time. These movies for the most part get better and better as they go. Great reaction, I can't wait to see you go through the rest of this journey.
@@LtDan-rk4si lmao
Each book is a year in Harry's life, and there are seven of them because Wizards come of age when they are seventeen. The last book was divided into two movies for a total of eight.
spoiler warning:
there are seven of them because there's seven school years at Hogwarts, Harry left school early, the last book that happens after he turns 17, he was supposed to go back to school (which is obvious since his friends who are the same age went back to school) but he decided to hunt the horcruxes instead and save the world again
@@vstopbiaswreckingme7194 Yes. I know that. You know that. But the OP of the video doesn't know that, and I dearly hope that she doesn't read your comment because if she does, then you you have just spoiled a hell of a lot of plot. What the hell is your motivation here?
@@drmikebass the way you worded it made it seem like you didn't know it so I wanted to explain, I for some stupid reason forgot that some RUclipsrs do read their comments, anyway imma edit my reply and add a spoiler warning
@@vstopbiaswreckingme7194 Thank you for your prompt action.
I have been guilty myself - not deliberately or even negligently - but simply because my apparently innocuous comment dovetailed with somebody else's, and together they gave the game away.
I am far more careful now, which, ironically, may have been the reason you thought I didn't know the truth. Either way, I do urge extreme caution when commenting on these kinds of videos, and kudos to you once again for taking the action that you did in a very timely manner.
@@drmikebass yeah thats probably why, i usually include spoiler warnings in my comments when I think the people reading it wouldnt know the entire story (i use spoiler warnings on reaction vids usually, but not on game theory video about fnaf for example) today that really slipped my mind and i thank you for reminding me
the dursley house has four bedrooms.
1.is for the parents
2. is for guests
3. is for dudley
4. is for dudley’s overflow of his stuff
"where have you been Dumbledore? I'm out here saving the school and I'm 11 years old" lmaoooo 😂😂😂😂
We love you 😽 Have Fun!
“This is Harry Potter, I’m not gonna cry” - Famous last words😂
You were confused by the lanterns etc. In the Wizarding world, everything is old-fashioned because they use magic rather than technology to improve things. The year is 1991.
Yet they do still use cameras.
@@denizkenger52 Cameras are pretty old fashioned. It’s a 200 year old technology.
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 ...with a flash that emits a puff of smoke! :-)
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 harry potter 1 time is 1990/91 so its would be 184/185 years for cameras. And it would be 111/112years for light bulbs. And 92/93 years for flashlights.
So cameras are older but even if they didn’t have flashlights due to it being more recent as in not a century past, I’m sure lightbulbs should be used considering they’ve had more than a century to catch up.
They don’t use modern muggle tech because they will malfunction due to too much magical interference. Hermione explains this in book 4.
The funny thing is that in the book, Harry goes back home after shopping and his uncle had to drive him at the station on his way to get Dudley's tail removed before school starts.
If I remember correctly, Harry's story was told to children, sort of like a fairy tale. So yeah, he was already very famous haha
Yes you are correct, an example is Jenny's reaction when she learns its really him on the train and instantly turns fan girl on him. Most speculated that parents aren't going to be telling there kids the story of how he became the boy who lived in vivid detail so its speculated that unauthorized writers made an entire children's collection of stories kind of like the actual harry potter books but about him saving damsels in distress and rescuing princesses and capturing dragons or galloping on hipogriths
And for that matter another is Ron's fascination with his scar, so its probably embellished on how he got it too.
@@Yugioh420 u mean Ginny, not Jenny. right? :D
@@athadria_gaming well you see one jenny you seen them all lol. But ya probably Ginny
The time period is the early 90’s, making the nimbus 2000 like “this is THE broom of the coming millennium” yknow
She took 5 away from Hermione and added 5 each to Harry and Ron so basically in the end they got 5 points for taking down a mountain troll
Ron has 5 brothers Bill, Charlie, Percy , Fred & George .
yep and one sister who will be attending next year ☺️
2:46: The Dursleys have a very strict, hostile idea of what they consider to be "normal," and they don't like anything that doesn't fit into that bubble. And magic is the most un-normal thing they can think of.
They’re kind of like the religious parents that wouldn’t let their kids read or watch Harry Potter cause it was ‘from the devil.’
thats true for Vernon, but Petunia always envied her sister for being a witch, she wanted to be magical too, she even wrote to Hogwarts begging them to let her enroll even though she wasn't magical, Petunia didn't hate magic, she wanted it and was hurt she couldn't be part of that world
The story of 'Harry Potter' begins in the first scene on November 1, 1981(Harry is about 18 months old), with each novel taking place over about a year from 1991 to 1998 (Harry ages from 11 to 18), and the final epilogue scene that takes place on September 1, 2017. This is both in the films and the novels...although it is never explicitly stated in the books or films.
Since you asked...twice. :D
Thanks!
Small correction, Harry would be 15 months old in the first scene.
Harry Potter is set in the 90s, but the wizard places look old because wizards don't really like to use muggle technology.
Some fun facts about names:
1) Aunt Petunia got her name because JK Rowling had a habit of calling unpleasant women "Petunias". Besides, it's a name of a flower (Harry's mother's name was Lily).
2) Draco Malfoy is the only Hogwarts student with an unusual name, while many adult wizards and witches have unusual ones (you'll see).
3) Hagrid got this surname because of an old English expression "Are you hagrid?" which means "Had a bad night?" In the book, it is implied that Hagrid often has bad nights because of being drunk.
4) Hermione got a rare name because JK Rowling didn't want her namesakes to be teased at school
Draco means Dragon. It’s also a constellation name. Most the black family have constellation names, and Draco is part Black due to her mum.
I’d say a student with the initials LL has an unusual name.
Harry goes back to the Dursley's every summer because there's a magic that protects Harry as long as he goes back to his mother's sister, Petunia, once a year...
One thing that J K Rowling did intentionally was increase the vocabulary and complexity of the novels with each book so that a child could be given the first and then grow up in reading ability with the books. It's a brilliant idea and worked really well for my daughters. On a personal note, my best friend is British and when this was released as a book in England she sent my daughters a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (original title in England) for them with the inscription "I don't know if this will ever be released in the states but I think your daughters would love it." So fun to look back on that time before Harry Potter became a world wide phenomenon.
If you've still got that original edition you should see how much it's worth, they're pretty rare.
@@arayaslayer666 I do still have it but both my daughters are huge Harry Potter fans. I'll leave it up to them as to whether they keep or sell it in the future.
@@jainthorne4136 fair enough, you can't really put a price on sentimental value. If it's a first edition it could be worth around 4-5k, so it might not be with it to them.
Very cool story!
since you said you were confused about the time period: the first book/film takes place in the 1991-1992 school year, which for Hogwarts spans from September to June. the second book/film is in the 1992-1993 school year, third in 1993-1994, and so on. the 7th book is split into two films but they both still as a whole span only from 1997-1998. 😊
You have one of the best kind of reactions. Just getting so into it and having fun. Love it!
Thank you so much 😁
The Harry Potter series takes place in the 90’s. The first book/movie takes place in 1991-92.
30:50 How do they keep track of all the students doing magic?
With magic 😂
The books are in our time, (90's) it's just in the first book wizards and witches are looking Really old fashion. There are no electricity in the wizarding world, though. Electricity doesn't work where there's a lot of magic around. And they don't really need it. They manage without.
So glad you're reacting to Harry Potter! A great journey ahead ☺️
So glad you're reacting to this franchise .
Hogwarts believes in a Scared Straight program for detention lmao
I love that they changed Harry father from Keeper to Seeker in the film since his Father was a Keeper in the book
*Chaser :P
Keep an eye on Harry, Ron, and Hermione's scarves and ties. Ron's is always open and loose, Hermione's is always perfect, and Harry's is always in between.
My gosh I don't think this woman has any idea what an amazing series she's about to see
It’s snape! And yeah he was protecting him because he’s a child and wouldn’t want a child to die but it doesn’t mean snape likes Harry lmao, so both of those things are right he was horrible and unfair to Harry, but still was saving his life. Dumbledore goes into more in the books about a reason why when Harry was in the hospital at the end but just incase I’ll leave saying anything about it. Also the first 2 movies are more childish and it fits since the actors are so young but from the 3rd movie and up the tone changes and it starts to get darker ams darker
They had to redo the scene when Hermione says Sorcerer's Stone, because the real name is philosopher's stone. Only in America they say Sorcerer's Stone
because when you hear "philosopher", nobody thinks of magic. A philosopher is a person that thinks. A sorcerer is someone that does magic.
@@Spottedfeather but the philosopher stone has been called philosopher's stone since ever.. even before the book and movie came out I knew who Nicholas Flamel was and the philosopher stone.
In the book Harry Didn't kill anyone. He fainted, hearing someone shouting his name. Probably Dumbledore arriving late to the party.
"Die? We at school" I dont know but that line floored me. You're super fun to watch I subscribed
Same 😂
The film's are so good. Ron has 5 brothers Bill,Charlie,Percy,Fred, and George he also has 1 sister Ginny. You need to read the books to understand movies a little bit more
One of my favorite things about your channel is your short intros. I can't tell you how many times my short attention span has forced me to click off a reaction video after watching a five minute plus intro to a movie they haven't even seen lol. Anyway, great stuff!
I usually fast forward by sliding, I can see in a mini screen. So I know when it starts
@@Thecanadianwitch Yeah, I often just double click until I’m like 3 minutes in & then I check to see if they’re still doing their intro. I’ll happily watch an intro provided it’s only a couple minutes or less, but the ones who do 5-7 minute intros? It’s really not necessary, unless they’re talking about something like people leaving lots of spoilers, inappropriate comments, future plans for the channel etc.
"This is Harry Potter, I'm not gonna cry." 👀👀👀
The time period is the early 90's. Harry was born in 1980 so it's 1991 after the time jump.
Hermione and Ron don't realize that Harry grew up knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about his family.
He knew they died in a car crash.
@@denizkenger52 Yep and that wasn't even true
18:30 it actually happened. Iirc Holyhead Harpies set the record of fastest match in less than 5 minutes while the longest match was around a week non stop.
There's a card in the TCG titled "Three Month Match"
snape was doing a spell to save him so he is kinda good and he is not trying to kill harry or something he is just strict teacher, you will know more about him in the next moives.
Snape is OG🥳
It wasnt a Minotaur, it was a Centaur half human half horse
ohoh...i just loved the way she tried 2 jump out of her skin when that thing tried to come out of that book....ha ha hee hee etc etc
What’s even better is that in the books the snake says “thankssss amigo”
Fun fact ya boy Draco Malloy (Tom Felton) played Julian in Season 3 of the Flash…
Yup! I watched that season of the Flash
@@Californiablend I was so upset they didn't bring him back yet. Hopefully they will very soon. Also Great stuff with your reviews. Keeping doing your thing. Love your energy and your channel. Keep it up
Ahh yes a new reactor to watch react to this master piece thank you for giving me this great reaction! Enjoy the series its a whole ass ride so buckle up!
Professor Snape was played by Alan Rickman, who also played Hans Gruber in Die Hard. One of my fave actors.
"Ron said quidditch baby"
He did xD
The books takes place all through the 90s .
: "It's Harry Potter I'm not gonna cry"
Guys, should we hum.. should we tell her ?
There’s another version of this movie that doesn’t include the letters in the egg scene and the scene where Harry talks back to professor snape I believe it’s the philosopher stone
Not exactly, Philosopher stone is the english name of the movie while sorecerer's stone is the american name. Those scenes are deleted scenes that they added in the long version of the movie
For real, I've watched the movie so many times and I've never seen those scenes
4 minutes in to the first video of yours I've ever seen, and I already think you've got the best reactions! Your energy and faces are so cute and funny. Honestly, they've brightened up my day! I'm hooked for the rest of your reactions now :)
the world is current world when the movie was made. in the books, at Hogwarts and everywhere else, due to the consealment spells to hide the castle regular (muggle) human tech does not work, like electronics and such. due to the Inquisition in the 12th centurary a stalemate between the wizards and muggles happened. so consealment spells to hide form the muggles where used. the Audio books are great to listen to. the books will give you more lore and background and motives of the characters.
Gryffindor colours as a background ? Nice !
A game of Quidditch ends when the Snitch is caught. So games can last for many months, or for a few minutes. The catching of the Snitch by one of the Seekers usually - but not always - means victory for that team, because catching the Snitch scores 150 points. This is normally a winning score.
Ron has 5 elder brothers, and 1 younger sister. Beginning with the eldest, they are:
Charlie (who is mentioned, but does not appear)
Bill (who appears in 2 of the later books)
Percy (who appears in several of the books)
Fred and George, AKA the Twins, who appear in most of the books
Ron is the youngest brother - and Ginny is the only girl and the youngest of all 7 (she appears in several of the books).
Both parents appear in most of the books & films.
I love you so so so so much. Slyterin here. Thank you so much for watching this. Queen
"Die? We at school... We supposed to be safe..." I don't know about you, but my elementary school had a functional guillotine in the basement... It was for Halloween decor... But it worked...
The first movie takes place in 1991, and the last in 1998 . Just the wizarding world kind of has rules on mixing magic and technology - and a lot of it isn't very compatible.
And there are 7 Weasley children. Ron's the second youngest. His sister is the youngest and the only girl.
*Philosopher's Stone ;-;
Wish I could delete the whole wizarding world from my brain so I could experience it all for the first time again D:
"The title of the movie was changed to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" because the book's name was also changed to this. JK Rowling agreed to change the title of the book from "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" because the publishers thought that American readers wouldn't pick up a book called "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" because they would associate the word Philosopher with some old, boring guy and not with magic. The word Sorcerer brings magis to mind for American children."
- it's sad isn't it? Haha
You had me cutting up the whole movie! Loved it! ❤
The Chronicles of Narnia is actually a seven book series. They only made movies out of the first three books.
Narnia and Percy Jackson deserve a second chance at film adaptations
30:02 "This is Harry Potter, I'm not gonna cry" (me: I'll just wait a couple more movies to see you crying a river))
I’m subbing just bc u look so happy watching my favourite series
thank you! Welcome to the channel!
When you live in a world where a spell or potion can fix most things witches and wizards have a different concept of what's dangerous.
They don't show some of the time between events properly in the movies. Hagrid came to get Harry on his birthday, July 31. Harry didn't catch the train to Hogwarts until September 1. Hagrid put Harry on a train back to the Dursley's house.
Also, Harry's touch burned Quirrel's skin and Harry hung on to him to keep him in pain until help hopefully arrived. Quirrel died when Voldemort left his body. Harry had nothing to do with his death. I really dislike the movie making Harry look like a murderer at 11 years old.
This was a great reaction! Can't wait for the rest!
Oh my, I love your personality. You seem really cool. I’m gonna have to watch all your HP reactions now :p
5:35 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone starts in September 1991 and ends in March 1992. People who have only seen the movies would assume that since the movie came out in 2001, it starts in 2001 and ends in 2002, when actually the Harry Potter books and movies are set in the 90's.
Harry's first year in Hogwarts (The Sorcerer's Stone): 1991-1992
Harry's second year in Hogwarts (The Chamber of Secrets): 1992-1993
Harry's third year in Hogwarts (Prisoner of Azkaban): 1993-1994
Harry's fourth year in Hogwarts (Goblet of Fire): 1994-1995
Harry's fifth year in Hogwarts (Order of the Phoenix): 1995-1996
Harry's sixth year in Hogwarts (The Half-Blood Prince): 1996-1997
Harry's seventh year in Hogwarts (The Deathly Hallows): 1997-1998
omg finally another Harry Potter movies reaction!!! please react to the rest movies you gonna love it i promise!
Omg I loved this reaction and your personality ! Please please do the next one if you liked it, this series gets progressively darker and more mature and interesting as it goes 😁
P.S. Snape is one of my favourite Harry Potter characters, he is super complex and interesting and the actor is super talented
My reaction The Chamber of Secrets will be uploaded tomorrow! I can't wait to continue the series.
The funniest thing about this one is that if Harry, Ron and Hermione just stayed in their beds on the last night, the stone wouldn't be discovered by Quirrell/Voldemort, since only the one who doesn't want to use it can find it, but of course they didn't know that + it made possible to discover Quirrell's secret
13:15 Snape and Harry's father hated each other, hence why Snape is so mean to Harry.
Great reaction, funny and entertaining as always.🥰
I’m sure it’s going to be great fun seeing you embark on yet another magical journey, throughout this movie series! 😊
And I see you’ve already committed to the Gryffindor House? 😉

„Did Hagrid Fly?“ - Yes, he did 😉
I remember watching the movie a lot back when it came out
It's still messed up that there was only three Narnia movies, seeing as they had 7 book.
I love this reaction. You’re hilarious (and gorgeous) 🤷🏾♂️ it had to be said 😂
Ok, let's be fair 2 seconds though: It was completely unfair to announce Slytherin as first and then give major points boost to Gryffindor last minute. Slytherin won their points too and, technically, the stone was never in danger so they just broke a bunch of rules for nothing. They went from 4th to 1st by pure favoritism.
New sub! Great reaction you are hilarious 😂 💛
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
8:00 Yes actually. Voldemort put a curse on his name so that whenever it was spoken he'd know the exact location of whomever said it and either show up and kill them or send his followers.
The taboo spell on his name actually wasn't until book 7 (movie parts 1 & 2), as only Harry and those close to him used the name. Before then, people just didn't say it -- first out of fear, then paranoid habit / social norm.
@@kryptoniansky really? I could've sworn it was earlier. Huh must be miss remembering
You mention the time period, it's 1991. I believe that's around the time Rowling was struck with the inspiration for the books when she was delayed on a train in Scotland one day. So, canonically Harry was born in 1980 and started Hogwarts in 1991 as an 11-year-old. Wizards just don't use modern technology as it doesn't work well around a lot of magic and they don't tend to feel a need for it.
Also, all students must go home for the summer. They can also go home for Christmas and Easter holidays if they choose.
Go with flow. Love your vibe.
I absolutely love your reaction
I believe the timeline is set in the 80s-90s
