So, which group of players will Luis de la Fuente take to Euro 2024?

The goalkeeping position will be covered by Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper Unai Simon, who showed himself as one of the most outstanding performers at Euro 2020 and who still remains the first-choice goalkeeper for his country. In the center of the defensive line, the team will count on Aymeric Laporte, Pau Torres, Robin Le Normand, Pau Cubarsi and David Vivian - it's very likely that 17-year-old Cubarsi and 29-year-old Laporte will be picked for the starting eleven. On the left we'll be having Alejandro Grimaldo, who is enjoying a spectacular season at Bayer, with Jose Gaya and Marc Cucurella as alternatives - Alejandro Balde is unlikely to participate in the competition due to injury.
The midfield keeps proving to be the team's strongest part, with RODRI being its key figure - he is the world's best defensive midfielder and one of the strongest players in the world right now, who only failed to capture the 2023 Ballon d'Or award due to low media attention. The other midfield star is Pedri, one of the best players of the previous Euro, but who is constantly haunted by injuries.
